“Poor shed and customer service”

The shed was very flimsy and some parts were damaged. It came incomplete and without adequate roof support. The driver was very unhelpful and wouldn't take the shed past the kerb. I had to pay someone to help move the wood. I will never use this company again (read more)

I have ordered a cabin from Waltons and have yet to receive my cabin even through it is past the promised 10 days delivery. Having spoken to them 3 times each time they promised to get back to me, I am finally informed that it is out of stock awaiting delivery. There are other incidents of total inept customer service, I will update this review as and when I get anywhere. (read more)

Damaged parts on delivery are still awaiting replacement 4 weeks later, customer 'service' is not even able to give an indicative date of delivery. water damage caused by packaging in Latvia. I purchased a Summer House from Waltons in March. I went for the Installation Package presuming they could do a much better job, as this is what they do on a regular basis. WRONG! From day one the roof leaked and water was running along the inside of the roof and dripping onto the floor. I rang Waltons and they said the Fitters would return and repair the leak. WRONG! the shed itself is ok but had to sand it to removed stains and paint it 3 times so it looks ok. the roof had be re inforced by fixing some extra support. the floor wont last very long as too thin. the door security has been improved too... like fitting tower lock in the inside. i ve ordered from them a padlock but never arrived instead of that got 4 big panels from a plastic shed. cant do much with them.... got a refund for the padlock but they refuse to collect the panels and will have to... Bought this shed through argos from waltons.Nightmare from begining to end.Shed was originally delivered without roof.Other shed components laid around in rain as I had no where to put them.Then after several weeks of hastle with waltons off hand staff roof arrived.Described as easy fit becuase the roof panels are made of osb impregnated with a bitumen material so you dont need to keep refelting(though according to argos catalogue description the roof is made of tounge and groove... They said the shed would be delivered on Friday, we waited in all morning and called them in the afternoon when they said it would be delivered in 2 hours - it never arrived and they never telephoned. At the weekend their offices were closed. On Monday we called them, they failed to apologise and said the shed would be delivered on Tuesday. Shed (reasonably priced) arrived quickly but with damaged parts -these appear to have been packed already damaged as evidenced by the way the box had been taped up. Customer service responded quickly to my complaint, but no replacement parts have arrived in the 7-10 day timeframe promised, nor have I received the promised revised date for delivery. DON"T TOUCH THIS COMPANY-buy local even if it costs more -it will save aggravation and inconvenience. (read more)

Poor quality and takes a lot of effort to construct. Extremely poor customer service -- don't expect that any delivery agreements will be honoured, I had a clear agreement that I'd get a phone call 30 mins before delivery, and that the van would meet me at my allotment. Driver showed up without any prior warning, and refused to go with me to the allotment. Premuim shed + installation.
Was advised they will call 30 mins before arrival, but never did.
Instead of placing the shed in the middle they placed the front of the shed over hanging the concrete base.
It wobbled. Floor was split, Doors did not fit. instead of Door bolts they used a screw and peice of plastic to hold door shut. 12mm T&G more like 9mm T&G. Door lock was incomplete. Frame did not support the roof. These are just some of the problems!
Requested a full refund and pick up...

Ive just bought a summer house from Waltons and its leaking badly everywhere. I dont know how to go about getting a refund, i paid 200 to have it put up and i cant afford to pay for it to be taken down aswell....

I ordered a 6' x 4' pent shed. The main reason for going with Waltons was their claim that they would deliver in 5 working days.
At the time of ordering the shed I also applied to take some leave in two weeks - thinking the shed would bound to have been delivered by then,
Wrong! After several calls to Waltons (they never once called me) I got fustrated and asked for my money back, only to be told it would take another 10 days before the money would turn up in my account.

I went to look for a 20x10 workshop building and founmd this one on the web, i liked the fact it had a door at the back of it so i can get in and out easyer. i spend lots of time in my workshop as i am now retired and i like pottering around in it. I made some work benches to go on the side and then treated the whole building with a red colour. Looks really nice down the bottom of my garden and glad i made the choice. Bought a 10x10 workshop of waltons and its great. I have the modular one which i think they have stopped selling but i got a great discount on it. Building is nice and big, plus it arrived on time too. I strenghtned the floor with a few more barers as was storing my motorbike in there. all it was it a few more bits of wood underneather the floor, am going to look to buy a summer house of them too soon if the weather keep getting better! We ordered a garden office from Waltons at the beginning of April and we still have not got it ! We have been given 4 delivery dates, arranged to be at home and have been let down each time. Nobody from Waltons or their delivery people have even bothered to phone us to let us know anything - they obviously have no customer service to speak of. Quite a decent shed - really good size and 12mil walls pretty suitable. Big doors too so easy to get workbenches and timber in and out, which i really need to do for work, so really chuffed!
Delivery was free and 2 tubs of treatment free as well, which is a bonus.

Very happy with the delivery and the new set of instructions. My only problem and the reason why the review is 4 stars is that I wish I had bought a tounge and groove one instead as I dont think the overlap will last as long or be secure as a tounge and groove one. overall great business would... I didn't have any experience of the installation I just went on and bought a 7x5 tongue and groove and was able to pick a delivery date. They called me the day before and everything went ok. There was a slight split on one of the timbers but it was cosmetic. All in all not bad for the money. (read more)

Had a shed delivered and installed from waltons, it was an 10x6 tounge and groove one. Arrived fine and the guys that put it up where great. Shed is great can store all my exess stuff from the house in it. Only wish i had got a bigger shed as it fills up far too quickly. There customer service was appalling from start to finish. It took ages for a delivery and installation date and when we did finally get one after weeks of pushing they didn't even bother to turn up. They turned up the following day and even then hadn't bought any window Beading (the bits that fix the window in) with them. in fact After paying them over £300 to install the workshop they thought it was acceptable to send it out by courier for us to put on without even telling us. Probably a good job I bought before reading these reviews, seeing as they would have put me off, but I'm glad I didn't - this is pretty well priced versus everyone else, was delivered when they told me after ringing me to tell me which day.
It did take us a while to build it, but now it's up, its definitely solid enough and spacious enough to house a workbench, store some garden things, ie mower, strimmer, hedge trimmer, rakes & the kids' bikes.
Its asking me what I would want to know...

I bought a 10x10 select workshop from waltons and then looked around and found this set of reviews and got very worried. I nearly canceled the shed with them but decided that it was the cheapest around so I kept the order and I am, very glad that i did. I am so happy with my workshop i can keep some stuff and one end and potter around in the other. I got free next day delivery however i dont think they are doing that anymore but i see a pick your day service is now on the site.

I bought a 20x10 workshop from waltons, got it delivered next day and it was a good product. Great value for money. There are deffinitly better sheds out there however they are twice the price of the shed from the waltons one. I am using mine to store a motorbike in so i have re-enforced the floor with a couple more presure treated struts underneath. I would definitly recomend Waltons and am looking to buy a Log Cabin so waltons will be getting some more of my hard earned money! (read more)

This is my second waltons shed, and they are, well ok I suppose. My 7x7ft was fine, but the 12x8ft is s bit flimsy. the wrong floor was brought, and it took 5wks to deliver a second one. Bought a shed from Waltons. The doors were the wrong size, the hinges were broken and all the panels were damaged. They refused to put it in the garden and left it on the road. Waltons as a company are appauling - no customer service, don't answer phone or emails and no after sales service. I bought their 8' x 6' potting shed and when the lorry turned up the driver said he was only allowed to leave it in the road!! Can you imagine a huge great flatpack in the road! I phoned the dispatch depot, as they had previously ok'd taking it round and putting in garden, and they told driver to do just that. We paid £1000 for a Waltons workshop shed and expected a high quality building in return.
First glance at the floor and roof panels showed that they were not cut straight at the ends leaving gaps in the floor. The roof has so little support that it bows in the middle. There are numerous knot holes in the side panels which will have to be sealed to avoid water incursion. The doors do not fit. The roof clout nails are so short they will not hold the felt in place.

Waltons has been a very poor company and I will not deal with them ever again. My advice, steer well clear. I have advised all my friends not to deal with this company. I tried to ring and speak with their MD but he would not speak to me. We needed a cheap but secure place to store garden equipment. Got more than we expected with this, it was easy to order on Walton Website, delivery was quick and the delivery man didn't mind waiting while I checked it.
Simple to put up, me and my girlfriend did it in an afternoon but we did find a part missing for one of the windows. We emailed waltons that night and they sent it out for the weekend.
Overall very happy with it, much sturdier than we were expecting and easy to secure.

Poor customer service of Waltons, they did not reply to my messages or e-mails. Delivery team never answer phone - I don't think that they actually exist. Ordered a shed 7 weeks ago, money taken straight away but only told me last week was out of stock (6 weeks after initial order) after hours of chasing on my part. Customer service and delivery teams are impossible to contact. I have spent over TWO HOURS (each call I waited over half an hour) waiting in call queues attempting to contact and failing - at a cost to myself.
I sent two e.mails prior to this - neither of which have been replied to.

In my particularly case, I spoke to an agent at Waltons when I originally order my summerhouse and was given reassurances that the item was in stock and would be delivered within the stipulated 5 working days (21 May 2008). I ordered a Waltons shed+portabase from shedstore. The shed turned up (though it looks pretty flimsy) but the base was nowhere to be seen. They have now given me 3 separate delivery dates in all and failed to deliver the base on each occasion. I had a very similar experience with Walton's in terms of delivery. We had made sure we had a clear agreement about delivery to my allotment, and they would call in advance so I could meet the van up there. The van showed up at my house without prior warning and refused to go with me to the allotment. Product quality is pretty terrible. There are several gaping holes in the side walls where some longer slats were forced into the panels by the manufacturer. There are no pre-marked screw points or holes, so everything needs to be drilled. It's extremely rough wood, much of it fraying badly. Totally untreated wood, presumably so Walton's can sell paint treatment. Disappointing all round, would not recommend this company.
