Good Points: Good build quality. Once you are used to operating it, becomes second nature.(Fairly) easy transfer of your recordings to DVD.
Bad Points: No Programme Guide available - VideoPlus, manual time entry or bustThe User Interface is GOOD, but needs refinement. No firmware updates for some time, sadly.DVD playback becomes gradually noiser over time...Cooling - machine seems to suffer from horrific cooling "bouts", as if its gone in to panic mode. Sound can reach intolerable levels.
General comments: If you pick the Lite On HD-A760GX up nowadays for 50 bucks/pounds, do it. Its a great player in the sense of a recorder workhorse, with a great 250Gb hard disk. I would however avoid paying more than the above...go for a player that has a Programme Guide capability, so you can programme up to 2 weeks in advance your recordings.I don't regret owning the A760GX, but its ownership lifecycle with me will be shorter than other gadgets, believe you me! Just not enough features and noise levels slowly rising that puts us off having this under the TV for much longer.
