“Feeble”

Rather feeble. Had to cancel my budget hosting before they would fix it. Told me the site was fine - it may have been in their support office but no one else in the whole wide world could see my website. Now today the server has been down for 6 hours so far. flippin' useless

“Disaster Recovery Poor”

They were recently hacked (Jan 10th) and it took them 2 days to post any kind of announcement. All websites went down costing people 2 days minimum lost revenue. Even now over 2 days later there is no way to log in and reset the nameservers. A company dealing in TLD's should not be subject to a hack like this, they even had their twitter account compromised. Up until now i've been happy with UKC but this scenario has me thinking about moving my domains to somewhere more secure.

“Websites were hacked”

All the websites linked to domains I had registered to UKCheapest were "hacked" on 11/01/17. Not sure if any data was stolen, all I could see is that the hackers (known as "gantengers crew") simply replaced the whole website with a black page with their logo in the middle. UKCheapest had their homepage compromised for a short time, but they fixed their own website relatively quickly. What I am annoyed with is the lack of communication. It has been a whole day, and I have noticed they have reverted my websites to a backup, but they have not let us know what is going on! We are still unable to login to check the breach on our hosted websites. The help chat was useless, simply telling me their technicians are fixing it...

“Poor Level 1, disastrous upgrades”

I have had many problems over the last 12 months or so. They are very quick to reply to the opening of a ticket, but the level 1 support is very poor. I recently suffered a server upgrade - having been promised that there would be no outage or downtime, and that they wouldn't switch over until they were sure it was all looking good, two of my sites have been down ever since. The level 1 support "investigated" and told me that the site was back up and running - however this was because in the meantime I was able to transfer to another hosting service, recreate the site and update the DNS as I had a very angry customer. They clearly hasn't actually looked into it. This was the final straw for me, after numerous issues with the support, I am switching all my sites to another provider. Sorry UK-cheapest, you just don't cut it. No phone number to talk to someone ? Every time I have used to online chat service, the agent has disconnected me when the can't answer my questions and then I receive an email telling me the ticket is closed. Awful. Just awful.

“Emails”

There is often a long time delay before tickets are responded to. I find it very frustrating that I cannot upload either a PDF or a word document with my ticket to demonstrate problems we are having. The UK Cheapest system is designed for professional IT people, not small business owners such as me who do not want to pay for a permanent IT person to manage the Website and Emails on their behalf. The live chat is not always available and resorts to asking you to submit an email.

“Don't believe all these reviews”

My experience with UKC over 2+ years is they are a faceless mob and their support is terrible and slow. I am surprised to see so many good reviews here and wonder if they are real. They blocked our site once when a backup exceeded our disk quota for a few MB and L1 support is just bouncing emails back to you with daft links to read which are not relevant to the question. I dumped them and moved domain hosting/registration as soon as I could. They are also not that cheap.

“unacceptable downtimes”

I have a hosting package for 3 domains with them and I use uptime robot to check uptime performance. Not only have I receive plenty of downtime notifications, but I also experience server response issues even while working on the websites or trying to send emails through one of my domain emails. They do respond to tickets but nothing ever gets fixed or improved. If you go with them, don't be surprised if your site is down for at least a few minutes a day and possibly 15 minutes at a time.

15 minutes at a time! My site has now been down for almost 3 days after one of the uk-cheapest servers failed.

“Site continually down”

I've complained to Ukcheapest 3 times over sites being down, but they continue to deny a problem. Every day it happens and we are losing business, with clients complaining about not being able to access sites. A shame really as they are cheap and we had a pretty good run with them with only minor downtime. I'm thinking their servers are overloaded, as they offer cheap bulk hosting deal that is sure to attract a lot of business. But as they aren't reliable, we will be forced to move our main sites to other host.
