I'm a fairly new customer with Redstation and I'm happy to say the process of moving to them has been a pleasure. Their support staff have been very helpful and nothing has been too much trouble. The telephone support is all provided over a freephone number which is great as so many other hosting companies make you call expensive 0870 numbers. Redstation is a breath of fresh air and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and helpful host. (read more)

I have been a customer of both RedStation and Streamline for almost 10 years now and had no complaints about either service. That is, until something goes wrong with RedStation! They used to offer customer service over the phone, but now, without informing us, this is no longer an option, even for a long term customer. Recently signed up for one of their 'latest generation' dedicated servers (model D7-990) and so far my experience with redstation has been amazing. not just the high specs and low prices, but the network speed and bandwidth included is stunning. I've not had any issues yet but i did submit a ticket with a question and it was answered within 20 minutes at that was in the early hours of the morning so i'm very pleased. would highly recommend redstation. I have used Redstation for several years. I have finally decided to move to a new supplier. They are fine when everything is working well, but as soon as there is a problem they are slow to reply and get the issue fixed. Really disappointed. (read more)

You can't beat Redstation's server specs, they are the best I've seen and they are also one of the cheapest. tech support is outstanding - call them at 3am on their freephone number and you get to talk to a tech guy within seconds. ive used a few server providers over the last few years and not one compares to my experience with redstation so far. Fantastic company. Support is quick at responding and you can always get hold of someone on the phone when needed. Have just bought a second dedicated server as well as web hosting Network speeds are great and never have any problems with the server being unavailable. Would recommend to anyone looking for a reliable host at a decent cost (read more)

At first we moved our servers from 1and1 to Redstation and all was well asid a few minor hardware issues. After a couple of months the hardware issues kept on cropping up so we raised tickets only for Redstation to attempt to charge US to fix their hardware and some extortionate rate. We eventualy threatened to move and our hardware magically!! started working again. I had moved dedicated server operations from 1&1 (another awful company) to Redstation. At first the relationship was fine, everything was ok, except for the odd email outage caused by their stupid SMTP Relay system. Little did I know that this was going to be the biggest problem. One of my clients had their account compromised and their account sent 20,000 email spam. Redstation Ltd. immediately castrated my server by disabling the SMTP Relay and demanded £500 before reinstating it.... (read more)

Absolutely appalling in every sense. I had a dedicated server and wanted to add a second, they completely screwed it up for a couple of days so that nothing was working, a total disaster and they never even properly apologised let alone offered compensation. Then they tried to rip me off over a domain. Their website quotes registration fees at £9.95 but when it came time to renew they said it was going to be £23.98 because I had a "premium domain" whatever that is. I therefore decided to... I am very suspicious of the (illiterate) reviews of Redstation I've just read below. I've been a customer for almost three years now and the service has always been first class. Their network is incredibly fast and I've not experienced a single outage in my time with them. More importantly, the support guys are friendly and helpful. Redstation bought another hosting comapany (altaire) and, after realising it wasn't what they wanted/expected, have abandoned the customers and are shutting down the service with no offer of assistance to move. They even took down the forums (presumably to prevent disgruntled clients getting in touch with each other) They also officially do not offer support on the old platform even though you may have paid upfront for it, but it's our responsibility to migrate off. OMG what did I sign-up for! I was refused access to my own colo server to upgrade the memory as they hadn't allocated the Bank transfer to my account TWO DAYS after it arrived in their bank. I could have possibly seen their point apart from it was for next month's payment (So i was paid-up for this month) and quite frankly their attertude was curze and implied I was a criminal about to ripe them off. I wrote to red station sales dept last week with a long email about our requirements and the fact I'd read good review about them etc etc. I asked them several questions like what were the benefits are us joining them and their datacentre, general questions and things we need to know to feel confident in moving over to them. I recently bought a secondhand domain and it is hosted by Redstation. It has 10 months of hosting already paid for and was going to stay with them but not now. To log into my account I have to put in a name like \"R18732634654\" and then a password - NOT very user friendly! Unless you have a dedicated server this company are not a good choice for small businesses or individuals. Email services are unreliable and support for this type of customer not very good. Regular problems over two years of unresponsive servers and email never arriving. I have heard that for dedicated servers they're good, but for my needs they are very poor. (read more)

Been a Redstation customer for years. Always helpful staff. Reasonable response time. Often helped me where other companies might have said they're going beyond the call of duty where support has drifted away from the obvious to do with their servers. Very supportive in setting up email. Never noticed downtime on the websites I host there - 7 of them. (read more)

I am also surprised. I have had three servers with Redstation for 2.5 years now and have no plans to move. Whenever I have spoken to support they have always gone out of their way to help, including one problem at 2am, plus the pricing is good. I think they have got it right. I recently had a problem with TalkTalk (phone and broadband)and it was down for 28 hours with horrendous support so I guess all companies have their moments. James H. (read more)

I find these reviews very very strange, I've been with Redstation for over 4 years now and never had a problem with their service.
If they have been unable to answer the 24-7 out of hours mobile they have always called back with the number i left in good time.
I suggest if people want to check out Redstation they phone up the company and speak to the staff their, I've never spoken to any arrogant staff members and would like to think after 4 years I've spoken to most if not all of them.

I've been using Redstation for about 5 years. The service has steadily gone downhill. Email frequently experiences problems (4 - 6 hour delays are frequent, sometimes more), and their support requests are not promptly answered. Communication with customers is poor (they make changes to settings and don't communicate it) and when I complained about many missing emails over a period of three weeks I was told I shouldn't expect email to be 100% reliable and should get a dedicated server. I was with RedStation for 9 months and never have I come across such bad support. The whole team is totally arrogant and treat customers with little or no respect, to the extent that when I questioned them about an error on their website I was told 'this conversation is now terminated'.
After that I asked to cancel my account and was told that the contact specified I gave 90 days notice. I could not prove this as I was never given a copy of the contact, even though I did ask, so ended up...

Some might find the reviews suspicious but consider long and hard before choosing Redstation. Support ticket created 11.30 pm, 4th December not responded until 12.05 pm Saturday, 5th December. 12.5 hours to answer a simple fault query. As for the so called 24/7 helpline; you are asked to leave a message which will be responded to in a few minutes - still waiting over 60 hours later. Cheap they may be but .... buyer beware. great company, the guys there are really helpful and the reliability of their dedicated servers are second to none. i have a dell dedicated server with them and it's never had a problem. the only thing i didn't like was that they only take payment by credit card and i'd prefer to pay by standing order, but other than that no complaints. would recommend (read more)

Support for dedicated servers at Redstation is dreadful. Outside business hours, the Redstation ticketing system is not answered, and support is by mobile phone number only - and this could prove expensive.
They do not monitor the hardware of Redstation dedicated servers - it would be up to you to notify them if you believed there was a hardware problem or not.
The "Backup Drive" turns out to be a Hard Drive attached by an USB cable. Not much good backup to protect from a hack, or even...

I've only recently signed up with Redstation but the experience has been refreshing. Real people - friendly ones at that - answer the phones and are more helpful than I could have hoped for. The hosting service is also great but not the cheapest but worth every penny IMHO. (read more)

Red Station have fast dedicated servers, brand new from dell ordered on the spot. We had a Dedicated Server. We didn't pay the bills due to an admin error. They apparently let the server stay online for 5 months, and then shut it down with no warning. I try to call and make good on the payments (this was not an intention to not pay) and they weren't willing to take payments immediately or make some sort of deal to get the server back online. Redstation offer not only web hosting but also give you web mail with it, the web mail can have unlimited users/accounts although at 100 Mb the space is not all that much, however, Restation are looking at increasing this to 200mb in the near future. They use windows servers and do not support MySQL, although they do have alternatives, if you want MySQL you need a linux server. I am now being forced to transfer my domain and email hosting services to another organisation which will cause some inconvenience. I would suggest to Redstation that they take a pragmatic approach to providing Internet services, if they wish to provide perceived security services then they should think about the impact to their customers. Never had a serious problem, low cost and good support... not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. The negative reviews here sound like they're from competitors - it's impossible to incur charges from redstation that you don't agree to in the control panel, they dont automatically renew or charge for anything.
I recommend this web hosting company Red Station.

I have several websites hosted by Redstation and the main advantage is that there's a person on the end of the phone when I've needed it. Downtime has been minimal. Makes me wonder how many of these reviews are written by competitors on a spoiler. (read more)

Their levels of communication have been very poor I feel. I personally found a lot of charges that as far as I was aware should not of been made. When I tried to transfer my domains to another host nothing happened for over a fortnight as far as I am aware. Redstation in Gosport sent a letter requesting we paid 75% more for our hosting bills. How can any company request such an increase. They went back on the signup price promise and every call to the Redstation sales team is battle. Customer care does not exist in Redstation Gosport. Do not use this company try others that are near by.
