We are a web design company with 13 years experience. We have dedicated servers elsewhere, but thought we would spread the load by having an alternative elsewhere, so we trialed shared hosting for one site. It was a disaster. I find the company hard to deal with when talking about uptime. They don't seem to listen and just say it will be backup shortly. The downtime is horrible. I've had to move to a new web hosting from the cause of bad downtime. I have lost 2 potential clients due to this, 1) of which he was showing how to use an online guide to a customer and 2) couldn't get access to his email because of it. They advertise as having 99.95% uptime, but only in something like three months over the past three years have I had 99.95% or better uptime on Windows Shared Hosting, Bronze package. I'm measuring 99.5% using two external checkers. eUKHosts say "well switch to VPS or Dedicated Servers". Hm. False advertising, I'd say. And no refunds (not even part-refunds) and no apologies for poor availability (0.5% downtime is TEN TIMES the downtime I'm expecting). The conversations about help... (read more)

I really like simply paying for a good product and keeping it running. Ok I may pay a premium but I'd sooner have something good than cheap. I've never had such a problem with trying to pay for a product, Nor have I ever been treated so badly by a call centre person. I have bee with eUKHost for years and every time there is an issue i feel i need to move away. (I have a re-seller account) The server works ok, but I find their support (while not necessarily slow) is often a painful experience. EUKHOST was one of my good Hosting experiences because of their Support. Lasted for many years. I was using Windows Reseller hosting (Kingair). The Windows Server itself wasn't stable as my Linux Servers at other companies, but that might be a Windows thing. EUKHOST always managed to fix the problems.
