I can see by these reviews that Nippers have some good instructors, but I got one who was a nightmare. I booked a 40hour intensive course starting the end of may. I was a nervous novice and I made this completely clear both to nippers and the instructor. I was not taught the basics, given no feedback about my driving etc, once I had successfully done a manoevre once that was that, I was told there was no need to practice it again. I was given no reference points or guidance on how to use the… Read Full Review

I spent several months learning with nippers on an automatic. Every lesson, I was simply, told to drive to the test area and back again. Maybe if I was lucky I would do a few manoeuvres. The instructor NEVER went into detail about mirrors, signalling at an appropriate time, reference points or anything I actually needed to know on test. It was VERY clear he was taking advantage of my money. When I booked my test he was EXTREMELY rude about the date I booked however, he must of had a panic… Read Full Review

I did a 40hr intensive course with nippers this went fine I failed my practical and this is where the issues started I booked another test and informed my instructor of the date and time and arranged to have 3 more lessons before my test my instructor failed to turn up for the first lesson without any cancellation I then arranged a lesson for 3 days later to which he failed to turn up to once again with no notification when I spoke to the instructor to find out what was happening explaining my… Read Full Review

I had wanted to complete my driving within a year. I had joined Nippers, as I heard they were a good driving school. I had 20 hours. Each week I would have double hour lessons. Every lesson would just be driving everywhere, and not the test area. Over the next few weeks I had got to about my 12th driving lesson and my tutor would say to me, you need to remind me to do manouvres, I reminded them. But my next lesson came I reminded them, but we hadnt done any monouvres or anything, we just drove… Read Full Review

I took the 25 hours residential course at Clacton. I'd had a few lessons back in London but never had any confidence in how I was being taught. On meeting Steve my instructor, I received a friendly welcome and he took me out to assess the level of my driving. Each day with Steve I felt my confidence increase; I wasn't just being taught how to pass the test but was being made to understand driving and also started to really enjoy it. Steve would explain and repeat manoeuvres and roundabouts as… Read Full Review

To Wjathome. Pointless paying by cheque as you would have to wait for it to clear, much easier paying in cash it's instant!
If you can't get to test standard in 40 hours maybe it's partly your fault too. My instructor was polite and allowed me to pay per day so i didn't have to travel with a lump some, just communicate, we're all human!… Read Full Review

Nipper SOM was unprofessional from the start :-( driving instructor asked me to pay for a 40hr intensive course up front in cash, saying that a cheque was too difficult for him to process.
Then the driving school changed the instructor, as he could not complete the course due to 'an appointment' but they wanted to start the course again and charge me for extra hours.
Finally, I was shocked that the new instructor was unable to prepare a student for test during a 40hr intensive course - he… Read Full Review

For my 21st I was bought a week's intense driving course (40 hours over 8 days) with Nipperssom. I chose Clacton on Sea. The B&B that they booked me into was nice and was in a good location. The instructor contacted me on my arrival and was very professional and friendly. He made me feel comfortable from the start and was very reassuring and patient. He was able to identify my strenghts and weaknesses and we spent time on manuvers until I was confident. I would highly recommend Nippers SOM as… Read Full Review

I undertook a short intensive course with Nippers after having not driven for 6 months and failing a test with another driving school.
The level of service I received was exceptional. The instructor was understanding and focused on things that I wanted to as well as the areas she thought could be improved for my test.
Even though I was learning and taking my test in a different town than I had done previously I still managed to pass. An A+ driving school… Read Full Review

Very patient, calm and understanding. Reacted extremely well when having to take over the wheel and pedals on a roundabout. Even explained how the car/gears/engine works which made driving the vehicle make a lot more sense. I was kept calm and my confidence was built incredibly!… Read Full Review

I booked a 40 hour intensive course with Nippers because I wanted to pass my test before my daughter's birthday in November, so I could drive her the 300 miles to see my parents on her birthday. My test was originally booked for 28th September (of which I never got confirmation). The instructor was nice and we had a laugh but the car was a nightmare. I constantly stalled it and having had lessons previously, I knew it wasn't just my driving. I was told I'd get used to the car but even half… Read Full Review
