Good Points: polite lady on the phone at the driving school.

    Bad Points: lacks professionalism,
lacks a range of teaching strategies.

General comments: Nipper SOM was unprofessional from the start :-( driving instructor asked me to pay for a 40hr intensive course up front in cash, saying that a cheque was too difficult for him to process.
Then the driving school changed the instructor, as he could not complete the course due to 'an appointment' but they wanted to start the course again and charge me for extra hours.
Finally, I was shocked that the new instructor was unable to prepare a student for test during a 40hr intensive course - he used few individual strategies, was inflexible in his teaching technique and wanted to extend the course before allowing the student to take the test. he refused to allow the student to take the test because if he failed it would affect the pass rates of the driving school.
When asked how many more lessons might be required, he replied "how long is a piece of string".
I would have gone elswhere, but they already had all my money up front.
We will now be going to a more professional organisation to learn how to drive properly.

For my 21st I was bought a week's intense driving course (40 hours over 8 days) with Nipperssom. I chose Clacton on Sea. The B&B that they booked me into was nice and was in a good location. The instructor contacted me on my arrival and was very professional and friendly. He made me feel comfortable from the start and was very reassuring and patient. He was able to identify my strenghts and weaknesses and we spent time on manuvers until I was confident. I would highly recommend Nippers SOM as an ...

I undertook a short intensive course with Nippers after having not driven for 6 months and failing a test with another driving school.
The level of service I received was exceptional. The instructor was understanding and focused on things that I wanted to as well as the areas she thought could be improved for my test.
Even though I was learning and taking my test in a different town than I had done previously I still managed to pass. An A+ driving school.

Very patient, calm and understanding. Reacted extremely well when having to take over the wheel and pedals on a roundabout. Even explained how the car/gears/engine works which made driving the vehicle make a lot more sense. I was kept calm and my confidence was built incredibly!

I booked a 40 hour intensive course with Nippers because I wanted to pass my test before my daughter's birthday in November, so I could drive her the 300 miles to see my parents on her birthday. My test was originally booked for 28th September (of which I never got confirmation). The instructor was nice and we had a laugh but the car was a nightmare. I constantly stalled it and having had lessons previously, I knew it wasn't just my driving. I was told I'd get used to the car but even half w ...
