Good Points: Extremely clear sound especially on voice and instrumental music. try mike oldfield "moonlight shadow", or shadows "i want to know what love is". i was amazed at the many bits of the background musicians sounds that i had missed, tremendous depth of sound. excellent wide field for listening, covering a 6ft settee from 13ft. Instruments sound as in real life. Not over bright treble and not boomy bass means smooth sound enabling long non fatiguing listening if required. Excellent finish and quality, all parts available if damaged accidentally. Ability to allow setting up for your own room to get best sound.

Bad Points: Very heavy and large. No protective grille to keep children at bay, am having made. For the Heavy metal or classic organ fans, needs a sub woofer. Extremely clear and accurate sound, tests recordings to the limit and many fail miserably. Many people like speakers with particular sound, these don't have one as such.

General comments: The Tannoy Precision 8 speakers have brought new life to my music collection, which covers almost every type. I have had to learn to sit down and LISTEN again to the music and not prejudge on how i think it should be from previous speakers. This is both a problem and a blessing, when you buy Studio Monitors which produce the sound as it is. I suggest you make a test CD or take CD,s for a listen. They are not cheap but as a long term buy, they make an excellent choice. Not many places have them in stock for you to listen before buying. I heard mine at Pro Audio Systems in Bradford who brought them in for me to try and are vastly cheaper than some web sites. Personally ,they are the best I have ever had and my family love them.
