This blackberry pearl phone would be ok if the input language would stop switching to Afrikaans! My Mother is getting slightly confused with some of my text messages.
Not very user friendly, it has taken a lot of mind bending to master this device.

The Pearl 8120 is a good phone but there are bad things about it that are not stated when you buy it such as need Data Plan ontop of other plans to send pictures with ATT. You cant shut the shutter off on this phone when taking pictures.- Read Guest's review (50 words)

This is really a comment about all blackberries, not just the BlackBerry Pearl 8120, but I thought they would have sorted it out by now. It has the worst user interface known to man, I propose they pay me to teach them to design a phone.
It also worries me that there is no option above to rate the user interface.
We should be putting up with design like this in this day and age: it'a just plain unacceptable.
It is an oxymoron to call this phone a smart phone. ...- Read jj hammond's review (97 words)

Pros
Wi-Fi ; 3.5mm headphone jack ; external microSD slot
Cons
Smallish screen ; average camera ; lack of 3G
Verdict
The 8120 Pearl is a tidy addition to the BlackBerry family and irons out our niggles with its predecessor. That said, if you already own an 8100 we're not sure if it's worth buying the 8120 unless you value the updated features it has to offer.

Summary
RIM is clearly trying to cater for its business base and its consumer following. Does the Pearl 8120 satisfy both camps?
Verdict
With the Pearl 8120, RIM is clearly trying to push further into the consumer's consciousness and retain its business fans too. The device doesn't go far enough to capture all consumers - where's the 3G and the oodles of internal memory, for example- ...

RIM was up against it when it launched the revamped BlackBerry Pearl last November, going head-to-head with the much-hyped iPhone. But a few months into the battle, it seems the business brand of choice has achieved a crossover handset with the ...

A bit old-fashioned in some ways, but more than capable of providing you with all that you'll need from a PDA
Summary
If you're looking for a sleek and phone-like BlackBerry, the upgraded Pearl 8120 does a competent job. Wi-Fi support is welcome, but we'd prefer 3G connectivity as well.
Pros

Pros
Elegant design, Excellent multimedia features and Wi-Fi
Cons
Captured video looked grainy, Available only to corporate buyers
Verdict
Given its chic design and multimedia chops, it's a pity that AT&T has chosen to make the Pearl 8120 available only to corporate buyers. But I wouldn't be surprised to see a consumer model appear soon, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Pearl to ...

AT&T has just rolled out the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 that comes with 802.11g WiFi connectivity, giving you yet another option to surf the Internet just in case that EDGE connection of yours starts to act up again. Unfortunately, this WiFi-enabled ...
I brought the iphone recently knowing its meant to be the best phone on the market. All together it is a really good phone with plenty of memory space and the music player is unbeatable. Unfortunately though its pointless if you have no signal.
Unfortunately because of this i had to return mine a few days ago. With no signal I could not receive calls or texts, send texts or call friends. Also had no internet connection due to the signal problem. It seemed pretty useless. All i can say is...
I would not recommend this produce as it has a serious design fault and is likely to fail within a short time.
apple iphone is a very good phone excellent for things like facebook and email I'm only 12 so I use these things a lot the downside after about a month it went extremly slow and as I was typing it couldn't keep up with me the camera is ok and the screen is brilliant.
The whole phone is amazing, the quality in which it looks is always a plus, This phone has a professional look to it, amazing screen, great music player when not using ear phones, The camera/maps/messaging etc is all amazing, easy to use as all Nokia phones are.A great phone for people who are in need of a computer pocket sized!
Overall it was a great phone, but that is what I have come to expect from Blackberry. The functions and capability were first rate with a reasonably compact design. The only problems I had were related to the SIM card getting too hot and the batter dieing a bit sooner than I would have expected for a new phone (lasted about 1.5 years).
