I have been a member of the York club since it opened. I have always found the reception and gym staff very helpful and I have lost a lot of weight with the help of the gym team.
I joined from Fitness First so I am paying more than I used to but it is much more rewarding, the atmosphere is great and I have made many new friends.
There are always some problems in gyms but any issues are resolved quickly and professionally.

Such an unfriendly club. We had paid for our children to have swimming lessons at Roko Chiswick's pool and on their 4th visit, my wife wasn't allowed to take them to the pool because she's not a member. While trying to get in, our two and a half year old son said he wanted to go to the toilet. Still the Roko employee wouldn't let my wife and kids in and so the little boy had an accident in front of the reception desk.

Roko's official position is that the company offering the lessons had misunde ...

I joined roko in april as it was lovely to start with and we were prommised a club with a difference. Not to be, so we have gone back to bannantines. At roko it is dirty, the pool water looks like pond water, management are not helpfull, they are over run with kids, and swimm lessons. I could go on.

I joined this Roko Health Club when it opened in April 08. Was pleased to begin with - good atmosphere, equipment, staff etc. Since January 09 with a influx of more memebrs the standards appear to have dropped. You are having to wait for equipment, there are no waiting areas outside the fitness studios- hence people hang around waiting for classes and getting in the way of other gym users. I find the changing rooms are too small for the amount of members and are sometimes now unclean. Too many ...

I chose Roko in York because Next Generation was over priced and over subscribed and wanted an admin fee which they then decided to waiver when I didnt look interested! Initially I was very impressed with the set up at Roko, great instructor, good kit, nice atmosphere. Over time i have been less impressed, poor build finish, and there are lots of promotions that mean the gym is always way too busy, making it hard to get on machines and the changing room situation is a total pain as everyone is o ...

Gave up on Next Generation as the attitude of the management there was truly appalling. ROKO is a revelation. Much, much friendlier, cleaner, better equipment, and a really good coffee shop. Cheaper too.
Fantastic facilities, friendly staff, good value, good coffee shop.

I couldn't agree with that review more! ...myself and my partner have been going for over six months and after having serious admin problems with our membership the services slowly deteriorated - and we did pay admin fee! I use to be able to go and watch sport while I exercised - not anymore! The worst thing is that every time I ask they tell me it's weather conditions - I know our summer has been poor but thats lame! I feel that there is a bigger problem that is out of managements control - pro ...

I have been a member at Roko chiswick for a few months now and go at least 3 times a week. I have a joint membership with my partner and we pay £75 a month each, there was no joining fee.
We like the gym because it's clean and spacious and the pool area is really nice. It has a nice cafe and a beauty salon. There are free swimming lessons one night a week. The staff are helpful and when i filled in a comment card regarding the car park they did call me. All the equipment have tv's on but t ...
