Just joined my local DW Fitness in Thorpe bay and i am SO GLAD i paid more for the 6month contract as apposed to the year because I am looking forward to leaving! They have suspended me from booking classes althought I showed up and all staff have outright refused to fix and gave an excuse 'we cant because we will get in trouble' i call H&Q and after being on hold for over 10minutes i decided to email a complaint not that there is a page to complain you just has a 'hear from you' area! “Heath & Safety issues & customer experience irrelevant”

Head office blames local club. Local club blames head office for same. Customer powerless in what seems to amount to abuse for many. Poor accountability for health & safety or financial issues.. Threats are common form of communication if any occurs. Customers seem locked into what appears to be a one sided contract - apart,from taking your money. Too much serious stuff to List. Avoid. “Worst gym ever! ”

Been a member of the Sunderland DW for 5 year now and Iv had enough of all these problems! Where do I start? Ok so machines get broke and take over a month to fix sometimes much longer than a month which I think is an absolute joke, sometimes multiple machines are broke and months down the line still not fixed! Theirs a mirror in the gym which has been smashed for nearly 6 months and it's being kept together with black and yellow tape?! “Do not join this gym!”

When ever a machine broke it would take them months to fix it, the gym went around four months without a water fountain to fill up your bottle. None of the equipment was maintained. Some of the staff were very nasty, unhelpful and liars. When I went in to cancel my membership they said they will take care of it for me. I joined this gym through recommendation by a friend. The gym is adequate, sub optimal in some areas but good in others. The classes are terrible, if you do actually manage to get booked on to a class, if you are not there exactly 5 mins before, other people can take your place. Classes are sparse. Pay a premium for the changing facilities and the steam room/pool - not for the service and the actual gym. A very good gym with friendly staff. Classes,such as spin and Hiit are very good and included within the membership price. If you are going to join, ask about student or corporate discounts. It is also cheaper to pay your membership for the whole year, rather than by installments. You get 14 months for the price of 12. I have never been so shocked at dw Dunstable in my life I witnessed an off duty member of staff verbally abuse and scream at a 60 year old women and then attempt to cover it up when a senior member of staff accidentally appeared when the lady tried to explain exactly what had happened the member of staff was in no way apologetic at first and actually added to the embarrassment of this poor women by continually telling her that it was basically her fault never have I heard such shocking… Read Full Review

My friend who is disabled has been going here for years. He has to have a carer with him, and they have always trained together. He is certain that their gym sessions are what has maintained his degenerating mobility. Suddenly it was decided that she couldn't train with him to encourage him, but must stand by his machine, thereby singling him out even more. The gym and facilities are great, however if you try and cancel your membership your in for a treat. phone service which rivals that of the tax office, was stuck on hold for 2 hours waiting in a queue of 40. DW make it close to impossible to cancel or amend your membership in any way. There is no email address and you can't cancel at your local gym. The only way to discuss your membership is by calling a charged for number for which waiting times are ridiculously long - 20-40 people ahead in the queue. Having recently cancelled my membership of this club, I have now received my phone bill which shows that I have had to pay an extra £10 on my phone bill for the privilege of cancelling. DW Fitness will not allow cancellation by any other means than a telephone number. The gym has just taken over LA Fitness in Ewell and I have been extremely disappointed. You sit on the phone for ages trying to speak to head office. No one can help with incorrect suspensions. The staff in the club are unable to help as they are not clear what to do. I am sent back and forth from club to head office, costing me money and tie with no solution. Currently been on hold to them for over 40 minutes. DW Fitness recently bought out my local LA Fitness. I called LA fitness to freeze my account back in October, and that I would potentially wish to cancel the contract in the New Year. They informed me it was £10 per month to freeze it and to call in the New Year when I had decided whether or not to lift the freeze or cancel. Love the classes. Very enthusiastic teachers. Staff on reception are lovely ,too, as is the hardest working person in the place- the lady behind the coffee bar. But she needs help. it is frequently very crowded and one person cannot do everything, no matter how willing she ,may be. Some problems with booking classes. “Fine until you want to cancel. ”

I decided two months ago that I wanted to quit and its took until now for me to do it. Purely because I couldn't get threw to them. In my opinion it is awful customer service.
