This gym is a diamond in the rough. I've been off/on here for past several years now. New local ownership has taken over and it looks to (finally) be headed in the right direction.
There are still some outstanding issues -- the walls could use a fresh coat of paint, and the locker rooms desperately need revamping (new carpeting and lockers). Its a long shot, but it would be nice to see a new set of dumbbells as well. That said, the showering facilities have been nicely renovated, which was long overdue. Some new cardio equipment has been installed, and the older cybex/weight machines repadded. New flat screens line the walls of the cardio room. Hopefully management continues to focus on upgrading these sorts of essential aspects of the club.
Regarding atmosphere -- this gym is not typical of your large commercial establishment. The staff are friendly, and under new ownership, more attentive to the client. The gym is rarely overcrowded and the membership prices are reasonable. I'm certainly more inclined to recommend it to others now that its getting the attention from ownership it has long deserved. Keep up the good work!

My husband and I have joined the club lately. Although some of the machines and the decor were a bit dated, I think the new owner tried his best effort to updated the facility. The shower room is under renovation at the present time. I like the location, the squash court, the classes, and the attentivness of the staffs. We're very comfortable with this neighbourhood health club, and it is definately not as commercial as the competitor. I'll recommand this to my friends and neighbours.

Canadian Health and Squash Club is one of the few with squash courts in the area, which is why we joined. It is very close to our home, so location is a plus. There is enough equipment to use and with the recent change in ownership the club is slowly improving. The biggest downside to the club is the locker room/showers. They are old and desperately need to be updated. The showers need to be renovated. Other then that, it is an okay gym.- Read Guest's review (85 words)

I have been coming to the Canadian Health and Squash Club since mid 2008 and since then the ownership has changed. It is quite clear that the new owner has his eyes focused on the future and on his customers. They recently added many new machines and some large screen televisions to replace some old CRTs. many of the older equipment has been re-apholstered and the staff seem much more attentive.- Read ElevatedEGO's review (109 words)

Canadian Health and Squash Club is by far the best gym I have ever been to. The staff are very friendly, they take the time to ensure your satisfaction. The prices for membership are very reasonable, and the membership fee includes all services in the gym. I would absolutely recommend this gym.- Read Guest's review (52 words)

Friendly staff, not overcrowded, good range of services available for one single fee. Much better clubs out there. The club is very tired, locker rooms old and tattered, showers barely passable, not a comfortable environment. Equipment additions / changes are made only occasionally. It's obvious that the ownership is more interested in taking out of the business rather than reinvesting in the club in order to retain and entice more membership. As a long term member who has seen little if no chan ...- Read stonecroft's review (103 words)

The Canadian Health & Squash Club, for the most part, serves its intended purpose. Nice location and layout. Friendly staff and members. Never overwhelmingly busy. Variety of equipment and ample training space. Great value indeed. That said, it would be nice to see a few changes and additions. I have to disagree with a previous comment on here. If someone has set up automatic withdrawal, the club should be ensuring that money is coming out on a monthly basis -- and if it isn't, the club should n ...- Read TheHealthyDuck's review (422 words)

Not the nicest club in town. The changing rooms are spacious... shower area could be greatly improved. Some of the money spent on spinning bikes could have been used to make that area cleaner and more useable. Their website has been offline for several months now. Would like to be able to view class schedules there and it concerns me somewhat about the financial stability of the club when they would allow their website to be down for so long. Overall good value for the money but I would lik ...- Read Guest's review (188 words)

Good mix of people at Canadian Health and Squash Club, staff will take the time with you to show you things, not like other big box clubs run by kids and people just wanting to take your money. I just started P.T. and my trainer has been great to explain to me what I need to do as we set my goals.- Read DaveCampbell's review (109 words)

Fantastic club, great staff, great aerobic classes!
I believe that if someone owes money to the club in the first place, then they should have no problem with paying the fitness club. If you have automatic withdrawals, you are responsible for making sure the money is there. If they don't take your car payment out, do you think that you get the car for free because the dealership made an error? The club is within their rights. I am a member there, I love it and I would be very upset if someon ...- Read ccalannk's review (105 words)

This is the best value in town hands down. The studio and Child care centres are massive. The club is busy but not over populated like Goodlife. Squash is also included in the membership. No one tried to pressure sell me or hit me with initiation or administration fees- Read Fitforlife's review (68 words)

I felt very comfortable the minute I walked into the club. Very family oriented and didnt feel any pressure to join. The fee's were also very good. Both yearly and monthly.
The Aeorbic Classes are excellent and have very high energy classes and a good variety or classes. They are different every time you do one. Very professional.
I had a great experience at the Canadian Health Club and would highly recommend it.- Read pmychasiw's review (82 words)

My overall review of this service at first, was good, it wasn't the best, but the location was convenient and the gym is not as popular as it's competitors (i.e. goodlife). I set up a monthly payment plan for a year for my boyfriend and I - everything is good. I checked my statement to make sure my payment went through, and the first month went by - everything is smooth sailing as the initial payment went through - Good! Well, you would think good as a full year went by and it is now time to can ...- Read I DEMAND GOOD SERVICE's review (403 words)
