Good Points: Long distance "cruiser" and fuel consumption is 33mpg if driven with care. High mileage is no issue as long as the car is serviced. My car has covered 166,000 miles and drives better than most other premium brand car with 40,000 miles on the clock.

Bad Points: Price of spare parts and servicing can be very expensive if using main dealers. Find a specialist dealer.

General comments: I have found that the car provides the best value for money large estate car on the second hand market. I would suggest that you are wary of a car that has no service history. As a matter of interest the brakes on the Volvo V90 appear better than on the 960 but the cars are meant to be the same.
Performance does vary car by car.
My car has always used semi syn oils and they do use oil but not at an alarming rate. If driven round town check oil level more often.

The Volvo V90 was only made between 1997-1998 and it is slightly worrying that there are so few V90s on the road and almost no information about them anywhere. It is a very smooth ride, has a flip up dog guard and enough room for a large dog cage. There is plenty of onboard gadgets including electric and heated front seats.
Rear seat fold down easily and head restraints automatically slide down into the seat. The fuel consumption is a down point and it doesn't have remote central locking.
