After 24 hours I got an email telling me to wait for a refund as my phone could not be unlocked. Their phone number given does not exist. Paypal ignored my request to withhold payment. My conclusion? SCAM So many companies request payment by Paypal nowadays and I will refuse to do business with any of them. I am so happy with their service. It was fast, less than five minutes. I love how they instruct you to use the unlocking code even if you do not have second sim card. I have blackberry curve 9300 which was locked to Fido (CANADA) now I can use it every where I want. The price is great, the retail price is $45 Canadian, but they unlocked it form me for only $8.99 Canadian. Good job guys. Keep the service running. (read more)

After telling me that they had already looked up my unlock code, I paid them a little over 7 bucks via credit card. Got an email shortly after stating that someone from their "unlock team" would be emailing me within 24 hours with my unlock code. YEAH. When the 24 hours was just about up, I got an email from him stating that he had to maually look it up and needed more info about where I bought the cell phone. I paid them on 13th feb, 2 days later received a message saying they cannot find the code for my blackberry. Never heard from them again, though I wrote to them demanding a refund. Though their website guaranteed a refund if they are unable to provide an unlock code, they do nothing of the sort. They just disappear. DO NOT USE THEM. Scam.
They won't give you a code, and they wont answer any of your emails.
If I had to guess I'd say that the owner must have abandoned the site a few months ago, essentially making it a honey pot for people like me.
I ordered a code about 3 weeks ago, and after the 48 hour deadline I sent them an email. Then I waited a few days and received no reply. This happened two more times.
I just opened a dispute with paypal over this.
Again: Don't do it. This is a scam.

Failed to provide unlock codes for two phones. You have to pay up front. But when they emailed that they could not get unlock codes they promised a refund would be made automatically but might take a few days.
Refund never arrived. Chase emails are not replied to. Due to christmas stuff I was slow escalating with Paypal and missed their 45 day deadline for a dispute. Now out of pocket but wiser.
In the end bought unlock via ebay - both unlocks worked and service was good.

Purchased my unlock code at 3:45AM Tuesday. Received the unlock code Wednesday morning, well within the expected time frame. Unlock code worked first try.
When I could no longer check my order status my email was responded too in under 1 hour with the status, and even an estimated time to obtain the code and send it out.
The site itself needs a little fix, don't count on being able to check your order status if you glitched like I did, but emailing them will get you an answer promptly, so...

Having read these reviews AFTER my purchase, I was presuming my money was entirely wasted. However, to my surprise, the 'Instant Refund System' (http://www.cell-unlock-shop.com/refund/) on their website did indeed generate an instant refund of my payment into my PayPal account. Cell-unlock is a dishonest site..
I paid for a code for my motorola razr v3 about a month ago i never got an email confirmation
What i got was a paypal receipt on email but i didn't use paypal i used my credit card.
they sent me a phony paypal receipt.
After a month still no code
I sent them tons of emails through the site because there is no phone contact,
all i get is an automatic message saying they will contact me within 48hrs.

Dishonesty is thwe word. Cell-unlock was incaple of delivering the service as claimed and promised to make refunds in 10 days time when they finally couldn't perform the service. BUT YOU NEVER DID! I believe it is cell-unlock's strategy to wait patiently until the customer forgets and just hold on to the payment without refunds.I am sure thats why they tell you refunds will take at least 10 days. I read all of the postings on here AFTER my purchase and was VERY sceptical. I'm glad to say cell-unlockers.com delivered on their promise. You have to understand depending on the time of day you request the code, the type of phone...etc etc it can slow down the process. Agreed with the above posters. Paid via Paypal and, despite being promised a 'typical 1-day turnaround' I waited 10 days.
I sent a few emails to their customer service email address, all of which came back with an automated response (but from different names!).
I finally received a 'code', but no instructions on how to use it. After a little Googling I did find out how to input the code, but it didn't work anyway - surprise!
This is an example of the worst kind of scamming opportunists....

I was successful in unlocking my wife's lg shine from att. The service was more than they advertised -- I think I paid $9.99 whereas they advertise that they will unlock any phone for $3.99, and the code did take a couple of hours instead of arriving instantly, but compared to going out to a store that unlocks phones, and paying $10 to $20, this was great!! I read a lot of negative reviews right after I bought the code, but at least for me, it worked. (read more)

This is a scam. The people that are 5 stars are probably cell-unlock attempting to boost their rating. Frankly, you are at their mercy. No phone numbers, no customer service - NO guarantee you get their money back despite their promise. They can say it, but how can YOU guarantee that it will happen? You can't. They say that they will provide you with a code within 24 hours, and when that time is passed they just send you a message informing you that couldn't provide the service blah blah. In that e-mail they say also that they will provide you with details to their "dedicated accounts team" who will deal with your refund. In my case, they haven't emailed me anything. I complained yesterday (the deadline) and they refunded me today.
Lucky I paid via PayPal
Also glad Unlock emailed me their failure notification. Maybe they are delivering the goods for some people...? Why no refund on time though? Overloaded with refund work?! :-)
I wouldn't risk it again though.
