“China parts ltd - rip off”

★★★☆☆

written by RylandFord on 05/12/2016

Would just like to warn people of china parts ltd who also trade under D&J motorcycles and have connections with uk probike ltd I bought a pioneer nirvada that was advertised by china parts ltd as bran new road legal learner I was in correspondence with china parts ltd I arranged the viewing with china parts ltd at there address in stanly china parts house As far as I new I was buying it from china parts ltd When the bike arrived it was less than road worthy in faked it was completely illegal and was not the same bike I viewed The headlight were not alined correctly (shone in the air dazzling oncoming drivers) • the baffles were loose causing a rattle • left foot fest was loose and fell off while riding • the exhaust valves where faulty causing poor compression and poor running eventually leading to the bike not starting When these problems were reported to china parts ltd they informed there company was D&J motorcycles There company director who claimed he was just the mechanic collected the bike for repairs. He cut the left exhaust in half welded the baffles back then welded the pipe back together, this repair held for just over a week, his weld came apart while I was riding causing the exhaust to trail along the road which could have cause a fatal accident. As for the other problems they refused to carry them out calming they were not reported.

“Ride with caution”

★★★☆☆

written by jarjar828 on 16/11/2013

I hope anyone planning to buy the bike reads this first. I brought my bike from an online bike/scooter company for around 1k. Firstly, i had to wait like 3 months for the bike. Then it didnt start. Fuel was not passing through the carb. Garage cost 135 quid. Lukily the warranty covered this. Then had not much fun driving around at 30mph for two weeks as i couldnt go over 5k revs. I have since done just over 1000km. First problems...afted 150km the left exhaust fell away from the engine whilst driving. Replaced bolts been ok since. Then at around 350km the left pedal came loose and the gear foot leave fell under the pedal. Then came lose around every 100miles. I have replaced both bolts with super long ones and anti shake bolts at around 950km. So hoping this should sort it now. The right exhaust did the same as the left around 600km. But the top bold snapped off completely and cannot be replaced so now is hanging on with one bolt and two nuts on it. But because it is not completely sealed it sounds like someone has a megaphone over the engine. As everyone has mentioned..terrible rusting within a couple of days. Also, i am scared for life if i go over 55mph due to rumbling, shaking and alround unstability! If u must get one of these, also known as the nevada cruiser where i brought it from then please carry some tools under seat including a small spanner set, clamp, wrench, and a few spare bolts and nuts at all times! You will need them at some point. Trust me, its better to be at the side of the road for 30mins replacing bolt or nut than waiting for roadside assistance to take you to a garage. I also forgot to mention, the bike does not start without the kickstart, always needs the choke on, will never ever idle and needs constant revs to stop it stalling whenever you stop at a junction or the lights. Also the sidebox lights need constant replacement. The rear brake pedal is very slippy. The bolt that connects the gear lever to the engine will not last long and is under constant pressure. Also, the main stand is knackered and the cheap metal cannot stand the weight of the bike, it has bent the wrong way around and is now useless. The bike is slow and heavy and is very wide heavy when riding making any corners a big challenge. The petrol gage doesnt work properly. Lights are terrible and dim. I am sure there is more. But yeah, steer clear. If u have to get one cause of money and it looks great when not rusting then carry spares and tools! ALWAYS!

Jumpjive1's Response to jarjar828's Review

Written on: 02/10/2022

I have one of these Nevada's and like you I have had some things wrong , the exhaust bolt broke so I replaced all of them with steel ones made in Britain
As far as having to leave the choke on in order to stop it stalling try and set the carburettor idle screw so it idles then give the throttle a quick turn a few times and readjust the carburettor idle screw as needed.
This worked with mine as it would over rev after riding it for 20 mins or so
I have had over 65mph from the bike and yes it vibrates so I checked All the nuts and bolts and tightened any lose one's I found now there is hardly any vibration even at 60mph

“Drove One for 3 Years”

★★★☆☆

written by on 05/10/2013

I got a second hand one and drove it all over Scotland for 3 years or so. Firstly it is a very nice bike to ride, big and heavy too so get's you used to the weight for bigger bikes. The engine seems to keep going and going without any problems - think I did around 20-30000 in those 3 years. It is very econnomical on fuel. The bolts on the bike do seem to come loose quicker than with other 125's I've ridden however the main problem lies in that the bolts are of an inferior quality. On tightening bolts (or nuts on bolts), one has to take great care as the bolts are liable to snap - this becomes a major problem when it happens to the exhaust bolts. I have had the left footpedal and gear lever fall off on a run as the bolt snapped purely from the continued pressure from my foot. I got it rigged up with an old padlock I had to drive the 100 miles home. The chrome on the bike is very thin and rust is an eternal battle (unless of course yo have a dry garage to keep it in.) After a run in the rain I covered the bike and dashed indoors planning to clean it in the morning. Next day I had to tackle rust with a pad and oil up the bike. If you plan to go a run on the bike (100 miles round trip or more), make sure that you take plenty of tools and spare bolts and cables for brake and clutch. Clean and oil the bike as soon as you are able to after being out in bad weather and remember to clean and oil underneath the bike too - probably the most common problem lies in the swing arm decaying from salt and stuff on the roads. I enjoyed this bike and if you can get one second hand in good condition for up to £500 then its a very good deal. I paid £350 for mine when it was 4 years old. All the chinese bikes are much the same quality. You will have to spend way more time maintaining it than with a jap bike but if you keep up the work, clean and oil it regularly and check the bolts before each ride it will keep going. It really is a good idea to gradually replace all bolts on the bike with stronger ones as you go along too.

the pioneer Nevada how tough it looks a beast of a looker but let me name but a few problems this bike may develop first when winter hit i never used my bike and covered it over for 2 weeks, unhooked the battery of course. when I came back to it the chrome exhaust and crash bar was rusted so I cleaned it down and put anti corrosion on 1 week later rust is back now I have to coat it weekly.
a big problem is all the bolts come lose or shear off as on on my exhaust did costing me 45pound repair to re thread and replace, the bolts on the foot pads come loose the engine bolts come loose.
then the chains are so cheap the work loose so easy they dangle after a months use and they rust easily, the ignition stops working the headlights are dim and when you stop when you have started you cant start again so expect a wait if you stop for fuel. if i dont tighten bolts once a week i think the whole bike will just collapse when riding and when you change down gears the bike makes an almighty clunk which kinda scares you

“I OWNED PIONEER NEVADA FROM NEW FOR APPROX 12 MONTHS....”

★★★☆☆

written by on 13/04/2010

I OWNED PIONEER NEVADA FROM NEW FOR APPROX 12 MONTHS. NICE LOOKS, DONE SOME UPGRADES TO IT TO MAKE IT LOOK EVEN MORE NICER BUT THAT IS ABOUT IT. RUSTS EASY SO NOT FOR ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS USE, SLOW AND NOT FOR HILLS IF YOU ARE 16 STONES OR OVER. ALMOST ALL OTHER CARS CAN KEEP UP WITH IT AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS TAKE OFF. I DIDN'T LIKE THAT AS DANGEROUS WITH SOME LUNATICS ON 4 WHEELS. GREAT PRESENCE ON THE ROAD BECAUSE OF THE SIZE AND LOOKS- YES.

SOME SAY IT CAN DO 60MPH. I GOT 55 MAX WITH IRRIDIUM SPARK PLUG, K&N AIR FILTER AND AFTERMARKER EXHAUST, BUT VERY, VERY ECONOMICAL FOR A SIZE.

NICELY PUT TOGETHER DIALS THAT TELLS YOU GEARS, FUEL, RPM, BATTERY VOLTAGE ETC. I SOLD IT AS I GOT TIRED OF IT AND IT WAS GETTING RUSTY EVEN UNDER THE COVER.

IT'S GOOD FOR PATIENT RIDERS WHO LIKES ECONOMY, LOOKS AND HAVE TIME TO CLEAN IT AFTER EVERY USE.

CHEAP YES, BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR AS THEY SAY

Bought the Pioneer Nevada 125 in May so can,t really make a any informed comments however for the time i,ve had it it,s been reliable and good fun to ride as this is the first bike I,ve ever had I quite enjoy it,however i,ve found that a regular check on all the nut,s and bolts is essential but thats the same with any bike I,m told,MPG is good too, parts seem to be a bit hard to come by in fact most companies don,t even have Pioneer on there manufactures & model dropdown lists, in fact the only problem i,ve had with the bike so far is getting the registration document from my bike supplier so make sure when you get your bike all the paper works there

I love my Poineer Nevada dearly but she is high maintinence.
do your homework before you buy! find someone willing to take on the service work as hardly a sole will touch these chinese imports.
Rust seems to be attracted big time.

good review mate, but you should have tightend all the bolts, used "loctight" once this is done it will never fall apart on ya again, also, if you want another 10mph you can get it, you need a new cdi, (look for a race cdi on ebay for the honda cg) and then with a new airfilter you'll find that extra 10mph.

Has anyone had problem with chrome finish on the tank instrument cover? After purchasing a new cover after 7 months the chrome fell off, ruining the finish. The seller refused to replace it after ignoring many emails I sent.

To be honest quality of the chrome on these Chinese bikes is very poor compered with Japanese bikes. Make sure you use a good chrome cleaner and protector and during the winter months wipe chrome over with a lightly oiled rag.

If you mean the nuts that clamp the exhaust to the cylinder head then use a split washer and 2 nuts. These bikes are high revving and the vibration is also high so keep an eye on all nuts and bolts once a week.

I'm a sprog when it comes to bikes and fell in love with the Cruiser style 125cc. Does anyone have a good suggestion of a decent sprog safe machine as most reviews I've read on the pioneer are really quite scary?

I owned a Pioneer Navada 125cc and I have to say it never let me down. Started first and every time and although not the fastest of 125's make a good town bike. I would never call the Pioneer scary. Its a Chinese bike and cheap to buy and maintain. You have to remember that the build quality is not great compered with Japanese bikes. My suggestion would be buy the the Navada, it looks great an.d run to ride. If you want speed then go for Japanese.
