Bought this bike from Direct Bikes, the starter went on fire the first time I used it, phoned them and they said they would send me a new one, this was in 2018 - I am still waiting, the exhaust screws keep snapping, the back bin light always blow (buy LED ones, they work really Good) I would not buy from direct bikes website unless you don't want any after care from them.

The old model is not euro 4 compliant after 6 months I've yet to be able to register for road use , I've spent £100's on trailer hire visits to vosa and my local motorcycle shop trying to get it registered , Be a good garden ornament but no good for road commuting which is what I purchased it for , the registration pack supplied is not worth the paper its written on and the English is extremely poor and badly copied , I ridden it about 3 miles chain thrown off and tensioners stripped locking back wheel, exhaust blows and head barrel crankcase leaking oil on vertical join , feels like big ends are going despite keeping below half throttle for running in ,

Had a Pioneer Nevada 2014 for 2 years. 1.6k miles when sold it. Several issues within the time. Poor quality parts, soft steel, cheap plastic. The only was good I was able to repair the bike myself. Parts replaced : Chain, speedometer cable, ignition, sprockets ,fuel meter and sensor, Chinese bolts and nuts coz too soft , exhaust studs, brake lever. Tank/clock Cover cracked coz vibrations.

Would just like to warn people of china parts ltd who also trade under D&J motorcycles and have connections with uk probike ltd I bought a pioneer nirvada that was advertised by china parts ltd as bran new road legal learner I was in correspondence with china parts ltd I arranged the viewing with china parts ltd at there address in stanly china parts house As far as I new I was buying it from china parts ltd When the bike arrived it was less than road worthy in faked it was completely illegal and was not the same bike I viewed The headlight were not alined correctly (shone in the air dazzling oncoming drivers) • the baffles were loose causing a rattle • left foot fest was loose and fell off while riding • the exhaust valves where faulty causing poor compression and poor running eventually leading to the bike not starting When these problems were reported to china parts ltd they informed there company was D&J motorcycles There company director who claimed he was just the mechanic collected the bike for repairs. He cut the left exhaust in half welded the baffles back then welded the pipe back together, this repair held for just over a week, his weld came apart while I was riding causing the exhaust to trail along the road which could have cause a fatal accident. As for the other problems they refused to carry them out calming they were not reported.

I bought one of these of a friend for 280 on a 63 plate (2013) never drove a geared bike before so took a day or 2 to learn as I'm a quick learner. Very comfortable bike had about 77 out of it feels much bigger than a 125 the engine is sound will run for miles on end with no problems mine has done about 4 thousand miles and is good the problems lie in the exhaust bolts which are terrible and will snap and come loose took me 3 days to drill them out and replace them with steel bolts and the kickstart snapped (cheap alli) the gear rod and lever vibrate a lot and the bar snaps all the time so have replaced it twice in the 2 months I've had it but everything else on the bike is perfect great value for money but if you know what your doing on bikes these little problems ain't such a big deal

I was GIVEN one for getting to work on, a 2009 fairly clean bike which considering its age looked pretty beat up with some heavy rusting around the battery housing but apart from that it looked OK. I took it out for a spin and found it really doesnt like low cornering as the big flat foot step hits the ground before you think it should. It looks bigger than it is, its a bit of an inside out tardis and gets lot of comments with none of them negative. Appearance wise, its really nice, mechanically its a sound engine having done only 4000 km but electrically its proving to be a nightmare and I will probably have to replace the entire harness as I cannot trace a fault with the tester saying everything is hunky dory but clearly it is not. Overall an excellent bike if you get it for nothing as I did and now I know why.

bought one of these machines about a month ago for 500 quid, it had a few problems as do they all mostly due to lack of maintenance, enjoyed doing the work, enjoy riding the bike and it looks the part, true things work loose this is why we check them, this bike has done 8000 miles and the engine is good, changed the oil as you do, on the hole have to say for the money these bikes are well worth it have to say many things are made in China and they are a very clever race of people, and best of luck to the company for the future.

I hope anyone planning to buy the bike reads this first. I brought my bike from an online bike/scooter company for around 1k. Firstly, i had to wait like 3 months for the bike. Then it didnt start. Fuel was not passing through the carb. Garage cost 135 quid. Lukily the warranty covered this. Then had not much fun driving around at 30mph for two weeks as i couldnt go over 5k revs. I have since done just over 1000km. First problems...afted 150km the left exhaust fell away from the engine whilst driving. Replaced bolts been ok since. Then at around 350km the left pedal came loose and the gear foot leave fell under the pedal. Then came lose around every 100miles. I have replaced both bolts with super long ones and anti shake bolts at around 950km. So hoping this should sort it now. The right exhaust did the same as the left around 600km. But the top bold snapped off completely and cannot be replaced so now is hanging on with one bolt and two nuts on it. But because it is not completely sealed it sounds like someone has a megaphone over the engine. As everyone has mentioned..terrible rusting within a couple of days. Also, i am scared for life if i go over 55mph due to rumbling, shaking and alround unstability! If u must get one of these, also known as the nevada cruiser where i brought it from then please carry some tools under seat including a small spanner set, clamp, wrench, and a few spare bolts and nuts at all times! You will need them at some point. Trust me, its better to be at the side of the road for 30mins replacing bolt or nut than waiting for roadside assistance to take you to a garage. I also forgot to mention, the bike does not start without the kickstart, always needs the choke on, will never ever idle and needs constant revs to stop it stalling whenever you stop at a junction or the lights. Also the sidebox lights need constant replacement. The rear brake pedal is very slippy. The bolt that connects the gear lever to the engine will not last long and is under constant pressure. Also, the main stand is knackered and the cheap metal cannot stand the weight of the bike, it has bent the wrong way around and is now useless. The bike is slow and heavy and is very wide heavy when riding making any corners a big challenge. The petrol gage doesnt work properly. Lights are terrible and dim. I am sure there is more. But yeah, steer clear. If u have to get one cause of money and it looks great when not rusting then carry spares and tools! ALWAYS!

I have one of these Nevada's and like you I have had some things wrong , the exhaust bolt broke so I replaced all of them with steel ones made in Britain
As far as having to leave the choke on in order to stop it stalling try and set the carburettor idle screw so it idles then give the throttle a quick turn a few times and readjust the carburettor idle screw as needed.
This worked with mine as it would over rev after riding it for 20 mins or so
I have had over 65mph from the bike and yes it vibrates so I checked All the nuts and bolts and tightened any lose one's I found now there is hardly any vibration even at 60mph

I got a second hand one and drove it all over Scotland for 3 years or so. Firstly it is a very nice bike to ride, big and heavy too so get's you used to the weight for bigger bikes. The engine seems to keep going and going without any problems - think I did around 20-30000 in those 3 years. It is very econnomical on fuel. The bolts on the bike do seem to come loose quicker than with other 125's I've ridden however the main problem lies in that the bolts are of an inferior quality. On tightening bolts (or nuts on bolts), one has to take great care as the bolts are liable to snap - this becomes a major problem when it happens to the exhaust bolts. I have had the left footpedal and gear lever fall off on a run as the bolt snapped purely from the continued pressure from my foot. I got it rigged up with an old padlock I had to drive the 100 miles home. The chrome on the bike is very thin and rust is an eternal battle (unless of course yo have a dry garage to keep it in.) After a run in the rain I covered the bike and dashed indoors planning to clean it in the morning. Next day I had to tackle rust with a pad and oil up the bike. If you plan to go a run on the bike (100 miles round trip or more), make sure that you take plenty of tools and spare bolts and cables for brake and clutch. Clean and oil the bike as soon as you are able to after being out in bad weather and remember to clean and oil underneath the bike too - probably the most common problem lies in the swing arm decaying from salt and stuff on the roads. I enjoyed this bike and if you can get one second hand in good condition for up to £500 then its a very good deal. I paid £350 for mine when it was 4 years old. All the chinese bikes are much the same quality. You will have to spend way more time maintaining it than with a jap bike but if you keep up the work, clean and oil it regularly and check the bolts before each ride it will keep going. It really is a good idea to gradually replace all bolts on the bike with stronger ones as you go along too.

Having read a lots of reviews on Pioneer Navada I thought it was time I put my pennies worth in. I bought my Nerv 2013 (Gladis) 200 miles away from where I live. She had only done less than a mile on the clock and had been stored since April of this year. On collecting her the Battery was dead so a new one was bought and the return trip made. My journey took me over 7 hours running into the early hours of the morning. Breaks taken during the trip were more for my behind than anything added to the this having to keep the revs below 5000 didn't help but then she is running in. I have to say Gladis never let me down the whole journey and although slow was a pleasure to ride and I did feel safe when being passed by HGVs on the A5 as it's a heavy bike for a 125. I checked over Gladis in the afternoon and there was not one loose nut, bolt or part. I have ridden her now for another 200 miles and still everything is tight and working. My conclusion is that its not so much the bike some people have problems with but who built it in this country. I must have been lucky and found one built by someone who took pride in their work, this is plain to see by the way its been put together. Most people at work cannot believe the price I paid for it as it looks far more expensive than it is, Gladis also gets looks from other bikers. Yes the quality is not the same as a Honda Yamaha or Suzuki but then nor is the price. Gladis gets me to work and back at a cost of 1.50 coupled with not having to take out finance for a more expensive bike as proved to be one of my better plans.

had problems from day one, the petrol guage not working, speedo not working, also emissions hose kept melting, after 2 weeks exhaust bolts loose, and in fact one fell off whilst riding the thing, the left wing mirror thread was stripped and i had to glue it with araldite resin. this bike has been a nightmare since i bought it i would not recommend this bike to my worst enemy. only thing positive to say is it looks good.

I brought this bike few weeks ago and have to say its a awsem bike, you get alot of miles when you fill up just £10, it handles well, the only bad thing i can say not many mechanics will touch it because its chinese but i would def give it a chance, you be amaze :)

absolute rubbish. in 2 months the starter solenoid went, rear wheel bearing, steering bearings, speedo, headlight, switchgear, fuel gage...the list goes on. I have been riding for over 10 years and picking up a cheap commuter has its consequences. Avoid these if you can afford to.

Only done 400 km on it, but already having problems. Doesn't run in the rain, keeps cutting out when wet, but we returned to the garage , no fault found. Bearings on forkes failing ( yes after 400km!!!) , you can hear a grinding noise, and feels lumpy. Rust coming through on almost every part. Crome falling off. Also various bolts keep comming undone, ( eg Foot plate ) , i keep tightening them up , but they vibrate lose again. All wiring exposed , not even Taped together! Bike looks the part but its really very poorly machined, and very poor quality. I would never advise any one to buy one save up and buy a proper bike . Also only runs at 50MPH top speed. Very heavy and slow.

I totally agree with everything that has been said here. I have recently bought a Pioneer Torro 125cc and have had endless problems from day one. The latest is that the top exhaust system is falling apart, so have to get a new one at a cost of over £100. Will not even consider buying 2nd hand parts, if the new parts are so bad.
Written on: 03/06/2013
When the bike is not falling apart, it's quite a nice bike to ride, although don't expect to go over 50mph. Get full bike license and buy a larger bike.
