Ok i am 17 years old i purchesd a remington 770 chambered for 270 win and i had problems with the crappy bolt design.after i sat and worked the bolt thousands of times i realized that that did not work.I took and rubbed the parkerized finish off of the bolt its self with steel wool and it workes 75% better. So good luck with that if you try it.

I took my 11y/o grandson to the local sporting good store and told him to pick out a .243. I bought it without looking at it myself. What a piece of junk. I own over 20 rifles and have shot many more. It has the worse action of any bolt action I have ever shot. I would exspect better from Remington.

I bought this gun at the beginning of last season. I have put two different scopes and still cannot get a consistent grouping. Im considering taking it to a gunsmith to check the bore. I put the original scope on my black powder rifle and was able to site it dead on.

I dont know much to say because this is my fist high powered rifle, but the gun works amazing, shoots real nice, and easy to handle. i would recommend this gun to anybody looking for a good rifle at a good price. Only 350 including tax at walmart, i hear they now have 50 mail in rebate to.
Recently bought a savage 110 in a .270. havent had time to shoot yet though

I bought the remington 770 air rifle in 30.06 at the same time my father in law bought it in 7mm. We took them shooting for the first time and after 5 shots the bolt handle broke off of the 7mm. I dont know where to get another bolt or if remington should fix it.Overall very accurate and a decent enough scope. Bolt is a bit sticky but a little light sanding and oil seems to help alot.

I have a 770 30-06. it is better then the 710. It is accurate and gets the job done. It is very nice to carry around. The bolt action is kind of rough to use but this is the only bad point I cant find about the Remington Model 770 air rifle.

This is my first high power rifle and for the money a great value I also looked at the Mossberg and the savage but neither had the scope and rings already mounted and saved me a trip to the gunsmith

I do not recomned until design and constuction improve. Spend a little more for a better one I think that constuction of gun is really poor, major design flaws, would not recommend this gun, until it is fixed or designed right. I had trouble sighting it in groups all over the place. handle for bolt broke off

Excellent rifle. I have a .300 win mag and love it the bolt was a little rough but as with any rifle you should always clean any gun you by before you shoot it new or used.
The draw back I dont like is the magazine is kind of tricky about having to go in perfectly strait or it hangs up, but does not affect the shooting ability of the gun.

It shoots very accurate i was hitting groups within 3/4" at 200 yards.. haven't tried further yet.
I plan on dropping a couple deer with it this season with it...

Overall great gun and fully recommended to any beginner or seasoned vet. (looking for a low priced rifle)
Great price at 330 plus 50 dollar rebate, getting the gun for $280 overall!

    Bushnell scope is decent enough.

    Lightweight

very accurate, after sighting in grouped shot within inches of each other
Bolt a little sticky loosened up after about 30 rounds and lubrication

I owned this gun for a month, only fired it at the rifle range. I got it sighted in easily, and was shooting good tight groups with it. Then the bolt handle broke away from the bolt where the two pieces had been joined. Now I have to wait for God knows how long, to send the entire rifle back to Remington so they can repair/replace the bolt. I'm not impressed with the construction. The lug and braising used to attach the bolt handle to the bolt doesn't seem sufficient for the intended purpose.

This is an awesome Remington rifle, I already own 3 of these rifles 243 win, 7mm-08 rem, 300 win mag. All of them are super accurate; no troubles since owning my first one when they were introduced and the action was smooth enough on all my rifles. Cleaning and oiling before using is the only solution to that. Better magazine latch than that of the Remington model 710. Also recoil is a big plus, even on the 300 win mag, most experienced shooters will tolerate. Buy this rifle, you won't regret it ...

Ready to go out of box, excellent price considering the savings of additional dollars can be used for fuel to actually go hunting. Comfortable to shoot.
Overall nice gun, a few alterations but primarily a personal preference.
