“Misleading adverts and poor attitude to customer service”

I saw Mini advertised by the Internet Car Showroom at £9,995 which was seemed a good price. I drove the 30 miles to go see it only to find that the sticker price was £11,495 when I got there. I had to wait a long time to speak to a sales person and his only explanation for the discrepancy was that "the boss likes to flex the prices". I wasn't able to test drive the car "because it's a Saturday and we're busy" and the car had some obvious faults but the salesman was keen to take a 'holding deposit' off me nonetheless. He went on to tell me that most customers are happy to pay a deposit just based on the photos they stick on their web site. I was thouroughly unimpressed by my brush with this company and would recommend other car buyers look beyond the advertised prices because they may litterally be too good to be true.

“sell you a car - no further interest”

Purchased 320 from them, part of deal was next service to be done by them at their facility. When I rang to book this, calls not returned, would not agree to do the work despite my having it in writing. Chief salesman worse than useless, totally unhelpful. Had to book service elsewhere, and just as this was done they reluctantly called me to say they would do it - but after 3 weeks of being messed about had already had work done in order to maintain warranty. Letters to the two directors and chief salesman went unanswered. Disgusting customer service, don't go near these people.

“NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL!!!!”

after looking for a used 3 or 5 series, thought we had struck gold with this company, great "online" prices, were not fooled as we were looking for 3 weeks and this is common as a hook to get you in, but they were in budget so we went down. 1st off they were friendly and helpful, the old boy that served us was ok and friendly, found a 08 318, nice price, no movement on the price at all so dont expect any more discounts, i feel this is the way they do business. left to think about the car for an evening, made are minds we were gonna go for it, called them, said we will give them the asking price, got there took it for a test drive...got back to the barn, thats when it went all VERY WRONG!!! started the paperwork, the guy was very quick to take £1k deposit off us, then he disapeared....came back stated " our boss has taken the car off sale, its too cheap hes not making any money on it!!! ", we couldnt believe it, we were told the day before by the salesman that they couldnt lower the price because they were only making £500 profit on the car? very fustrasted, gave excuse off a leaving staff member altering the online prices? weird as we had about 3 members of there staff looking at the online price, and it never clicked then?! they wouldnt tell us how much the car was now, they were taking it off sale (that was funny cus as we left it was put back on the forcourt!!) got to say me and my wife were furious, it felt as they were just trying to get another £1k outta us!!! just dont trust these guys at all!!

Gosh ! My buying experience was very good and also dealt with an older chap . I had visited many car sales sites and found this one to be the best . Dare i say it but i was treated very well and my BMW was two thousand pounds cheaper than any other available at time of purchase .

“new customer but no issues”

had been looking for a 320d for a while, with specific colour and spec in mind and came across it on autotrader, left my contact details and Paul got back to me promptly, was up front about just taking it into stock and may have a delay with preparation, I was travelling from another country to see it and timing was important to me, a certain amount of trust was in play here as I am very fussy about condition and would have turned around had the car not been as clean as Paul said it was, we were not disappointed and drove the car away after sorting out all the paperwork, have to say very efficient setup at the internetcarshowroom and loads of stock to choose from at competitive prices, we were picked up from the train station and even had an offer of a pickup from the airport if required, overall the transaction was friendly, professional and I left as a satisfied customer and I guess that is what it is all about, have read the poor reviews here only after the fact so I guess different people have different experiences I'm just glad I didn't read them before.

Just picked up my new 318i bmw and couldn't be happier with the car, and the excellent friendly service provided by the company. Paul our salesman was helpful and efficient without being pushy which was really nice as we've had problems before with other garages/salesmen. The car was immaculate when we picked it up as it had been fully valeted, and all the extras that we had requested had been sorted without any issues. I visited The Internet Car Showroom after being told about them by a couple of friends that had bought cars from them in the past and were very happy, after viewing a number of cars on their website i decided it was defintly worth a look so headed down and was pleasantly suprised at the number of cars that they had on display after i arrived at the showroom i was reeted by a friendly saleman who turned out to be very helpful after showing me round a number of cars and explaining the different specs and engine sizes available i decided on a 525d se after a test drive we agreed on a price for my part exchange and i picked my new car up a few days later and couldnt be happier i would recommend this dealer to anyone.

Saw some good cars on the website so decided to make a visit. I asked if it was ok to take a car for a test drive and was told i had to pay a deposit to "hold the car".As soon as i showed some negativity sales person was off. Seems a very odd way of doing trade!

“Arthur Daley is alive and well at the Internet Car...”

Firstly, all the bad reviews of this place are the first ones. So look at page 38 of this site and go from there. I suspect that since nearly every one was negative that someone took it upon themselves to bombard this site with positive reviews. This place epitomises all the worst of what you hear about the car trade. Shiny suited, rude salesmen who are all aggression and 'closing the sale' and doing so exactly on their terms and at their speed with no consideration for the customer's needs. Arthur Daley is alive and well at the Internet Car Showroom! I was asked how much I had seen the car advertised at! Why? Are there two prices? More? At the end of the test drive, I was asked when I would like to collect the car when I hadn't even said that I was going to buy it! Very cheap tactic. The finance process is mired in smoke and mirrors and is never explained. They quote it by writing it down on a loose piece of paper having done the maths on a calculator! Really unprofessional. Make no mistake, they are the ones that choose the interest rate not the finance company. Once you realise this then they can be negotiated down. They make you wait hours in the showroom whilst the money is transferred to their account. You have to be strict with them to get any kind of service. The car was good and with a low mileage but it wasn't washed before delivery, came with less that 10 miles worth of petrol, no tax and no warranty (I had to buy this from them after they asked me why I would buy a car without a warranty - probably for the same reason that you'd sell one without one!) For all of this 'service' you get charged an additional £145 administration fee. The Internet Car Showroom is all about selling the product at the highest possible price with the highest possible number of add ons at the lowest cost to them. Sure, this is the nature of business, but to do it to this extent leaves you feeling utteerly shafted rather than the feeling of having bought something at a reasonable price with good protection and having the sensation of a 'win / win' transaction. Just to add insult to injury the salesman, Gavin, appalled my wife with his weak, moist handshake.

exactly the same things happened to me.

It is clearly policy to:
- sell cars with <10 miles of petrol in it. I struggled to get to a petrol station that was open
- add on a totally unexplained admin fee
- promise the earth re servicing etc, and delivery nothing

“A lesson in terrible customer service!”

After finding a car listed by the Internet Car Showroom on Autotrader, I contacted them (on a Friday) and agreed to place a £500 deposit on the car to hold it until I got there to view it. Although the car was not yet in stock, I was told it would arrive on Monday and I could view it on Tuesday. I recieved an template email confirming the details of the car from 'my' sales person, Antony Walton. I replied requesting an email confirming the deposit had been taken and the amount. No email was forthcoming. On the following Monday, I visited Internet Car Showrooms website to get their phone number, in order to call them and make sure the car had arrived, therefore available to view. It was then that I noticed the cars asking price had gone up by 10%! I phoned and asked for 'my' sales person, Antony Walton and was told he was busy but he would call me back. While waiting for his call, I sent him an email checking the car availability and why it had gone up by 10%! No phone call came! So I phoned back and asked for Antony Walton's manager, Brian Williamson who was also busy. So I forwarded him my original email making him aware of the situation. I got the email address wrong so it bounced back. I phone again and this time spoke to Brian Williamson. Brian told me that the car was not in but the price would be that which I agreed to when placing the deposit and that Antony Walton would be in touch that day. Antony Walton did call me at the end of Monday, stating he had not read my email but that the car would now arrive Wednesday and be available to view on Thursday. Wednesday comes and I hear nothing from Internet Car Showroom and decide to phone Antony Walton. I am told Antony Walton is on a days leave but the car is in and to come in on Thursday (wish I took the guys name who answered the phone!). Two hours later at 1730, I get a call from Brian Williamson, quite simply the car has not arrived due to it being involved in an accident during its trip down on Monday and did I know as it might affect my decision to buy the car - damn right it will! At this point I am now really pee'd off as I put a deposit down on this car nearly a week ago, have had to do all of the chasing and been effectively lied too. After being offered alternatives, none of which matched the spec or budget I was wanting or close to what I placed a deposit on, I asked for my deposit back and an email confirming it had been refunded, which they agreed too. Surprise, surprise no email confirming return of the deposit but I do get a voicemail from Antony Walton asking me to call him about the car - the last person I want to speak too - god only knows why as they clearly do not talk in this office! Following another email to the manager, Brian Williamson, he replies and confirms my deposit has been refunded but has no clue why Antony Walton would try to call me. All in all this was a painful experience for which I am none the wiser with the exception of do not use the Internet Car Showroom unless you want a lesson in terrible customer service! Whether the car was crashed or not I will never know, the doubting thomas inside me suspects it was incorrectly priced and they did not want to stand by the agreed price. Most weird of all is the lack of poor reviews of the Internet Car Showrooms on this site and I have to wonder if they 'seed' this site with glowing reviews as I would like to meet one or two of these customers in person to see their experiences were as amazing as they make out! Subsequently, I have bought nigh on the same car I agreed to purchase through Internet Car Showrooms but this time from a private seller!!!

I looked at a car here recently. Car had no paper work and the log book IMO had been fiddled with some questionable servicing stamps STAY AWAY!

“Efficient Service with a smile”

I am a satisfied returning customer, having previously used the Internet Car Showroom to purchase a 523i a few years ago. What you see is what you get. No fuss, service with a smile and efficient back up.My sales guy was Paul, who dealt with me from first call, through viewing to car collection all within 7 days.I cannot fault his service. The ITC has a large selection of quality used BMWs, just off the M3 with a constant rotation of new cars coming in daily.The car I was after was a high spec 520d SE, with my Audi A6 to part exchange.The car I bought was just being driven in so was not really ready for show but we agreed a couple of minor body repairs and service, the deposit was paid and collection agreed within the week.I also dealt briefly with Anthony who helpfully set up the in car bluetooth device.On collection everything went smoothly so I can verify a pain free process from start to finish. I would recommend this company to others - and NO I was not paid to write this review, in fact I rarely bother reviewing anything purchased unless I genuinely believe the service was good

The Internet Car Showroom is a great dealership to visit if your in the market for a used bmw they have a large forecourt situated in hartley wintney in hampshire and have a massive selection of bmws on display they have them all rac inspected and always have helpful sales staff on hand to assist you in choosing the right bmw for you they also can take your old car in part exchange and arrange finance for you if you need it i have bought a number of bmws from them over the years and have always found them a plesure to deal with and would recomend them to any one.

ALLWAYS HAD BIG ENGINE CARS AND DECIDED TO GIVE INTERNET CAR SHOWROOM A TRY, FOUND A NICE 530i THERE, PAUL THE SALES GUY PROVIDED ME AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE TOGETHER WITH DEALING WITH TERRY AND BRIAN ALSO, THE CAR WAS PDI CHECKED AND IM TOTALLY IMPRESSED WITH THE CAR AND ALSO THER SERVICE WHICH IN MY OPINION IS BETTER THAN A MAIN DEALER THESE GUYS HAVE THE CAN DO ATTITUDE TOWARDS CUSTOMER SERVICE WHICH GOES MILES IN MY OPINION I WILL NOT HESITATE TO GET ANOTHER CAR FROM THESE GUYS, JUST WANT TO SAY THANKS AGAIN.

“Worst Customer Service Ever!”

After finding our perfect car here, we put a deposit down as we were told that it would hold the sale until we paid in full which was fine. The following day, we looked on the website to find it was on there and reduced to a lower price! My husband asked why it had been reduced and after several conversations with different sales guys it turns out they were still trying to sell it in case our sale fell through.We asked for the car at the reduced rate and they said no as the sale had already been agreed. Also the warranty offered is not worth the paper its written on and then there is a £150.00 admin fee to be slapped on at the end! This is also a con, as in all the years of buying cars from dealers we have never been charged an admin fee. After we questioned them what this fee is for they say to HPI check the car, which to be fair you could do yourself for a lot less and the safety check should be standard practise from a good Dealer. I Would not buy a car here from here if you paid me. Shame because I really liked the car.... worst customer service and standards ever!!!

Over the years i have bought a number of BMWs from this dealer and recommended a few friends and work colleges to them who have always thanked me afterwards as they got a great deal, i have just bought my 4 BMW myself and have received the same high level of service each and every time, they have always helped me arrange my finance and given me a good price for my old car which they take in part exchange they really couldnt make it any simplier. I would throughly recommend this dealer to anyone looking for a used bmw in the hampshire area.

“I contacted this company and spoke to Gavin,one of the...”

I contacted this company and spoke to Gavin,one of the salesmen and arranged to see a Porsche Boxster on a Wednesday.The morning I was about to leave for a journey of over 100 miles I rang to make sure the car was ready for viewing.I was told by Gavin that the car was at another depot or storage area.I was ready to go out the door so was really annoyed and was told by Gavin if I gave a deposit of £500 the car COULD be ready that day.Obviously I declined to debit any money to them.I found out later that the car was in fact in a auction pound at Blackbushe.Some days later I spoken to both salesmen Gavin and Anthony and they not only confirmed to me that the car was still available,but two friends also phoned and were told the same.On Monday 16th May 2011 I phoned Gavin at 9.20am and again verified the car was still available and I made an offer for the car and it was accepted.I paid a £1000 on my debit card and arranged to collect the car on Wednesday 18th May 2011.Two hours later I had a answer phone message to phone the company.I phoned and Gavin told me that my debit card payment was refused and then to my horror also said the car was sold on Friday.I later found out the car had sold at the auction on the Friday.My card WAS NOT refused as I checked with the bank and NO attempt had been made to take the £1000.That I think was said to cover their appalling cock-up !!!
They lost the sale so their attitude changed.
So my friends be aware and check your dream car is there first or simply pop up the road and buy from the auction at Blackbushe!!!

After using Autotrader i found my exact car advertised at this garage and well within my price range (£19,000).I left a deposit over the telephone with a superb employee (Peter) who ensured me the car was as described and if i felt in any way disappointed my deposit would be refunded. Low and behold i left North Scotland (365 miles)to pick my new car up and was overwhelmed of the great condition of the car and the superb service i was given. GREAT , GREAT PLACE AND PEOPLE.
