After a rental I received directly after the rental period a car rental survey. New nformation there after from my creditcard company shows that the rental company is a fraudulent party. However there is no way to withdraw the old questionaire and forward a new one that takes this information into account. (read more)

I selected Cartrawler from the many car hire firms available because I actually believed their advertising blurb. Boy was I wrong. They Ripped me off a full weeks pre-paid car hire and refused to release the vehicle to me. My holiday was just about ruined thanks to Cartrawler.com and I would never use or reccommend their services to anyone in the future. I booked with them a car for my holiday in France (with Budget, not better by the way, but that would be the object of another review...). Once back home, I found a debit of around £20. I sent a complaint to car trawler (via their website, that's the only way...) and got back to me a week later satating that Budget charegd me for petrol... The price shown on the web was different from the one paid at the end of the process, as well as the car delivered at the airport. They charged me 1 day more. I recommend everybody to contact the credit card provider to cancel paymnets in favour of these fraudsters. (read more)

I wish I had taken note of these reviews. These people are unethical robbers. I paid a deposit in good faith, but had to cancel due to family reasons but they argue the reservation date is not the date you want the car it is the date you actually book it, so guess what they take your money for nothing! Booked what I thought was a Chysler Grand Voyager proper 7 seater, diesel, auto with Car Trawler. When I followed through on the quotation with the credit card and confirmed the booking. The Grand Voyager shrank to a Toyota Avanza (5+2), which is a 5 seater and space for two infants in the back compartment. I had to cancel the booking....handy €25 for car trawler. Do not use this company. I cancelled the booking before they even booked the van with Arnold Clark. They will not refund the booking fee. They are very difficult to contact. I eventually phoned them and told them that their records clearly showed that I had canelled the booking at 6.53am. Booked a car in Mallorca, arrived at the place, presented the same credit card and agent (Goldcar rental - also stay away, horrible policies) asked for a pin, which doesn't exist yet their credit card terminal required a pin to be entered. Walked to SIXT counter and booked a car within 5 minutes with the same card. I prepaid for one week for a rental in Mexico City $98.00. I got to the rental place, and they wanted to charge me extra $243.00 for insurance, which I did not need because my credit card covers my rental. I hired a car in dublin March 2013 for one week to be collected in the city centre at six pm; when I arrived the Europcar collection depot was closed at six pm; I had to return the next day, losing a days rental. Cartrawler offered in Budapest a car which I rented but as I showed up at the Buchbinder desk to pick up the car, they asked for 700 Euro deposite plus 27 % Vat. and thats for a car full insured and a value of maybe 5000 Euro. All in all it was a money trap to charge from the deposite and phantisy costs because the lady at the desc told that it is for any penalties I maybe could get in Hungary. Avoid this company Booked a prepaid an entire rental, and now CT has cancelled it with no notice or explanation, leaving me stuck with a $1000 plane ticket for the trip of a lifetime - but no car waiting once I get there. They ignore emails, avoid phone calls, and apparently strive to screw customers over whenever possible. I also will never use CarTrawler again! Ryanair cancelled my flight for bad weather circumstances, but CarTrawler is to only how didn't a refund. Filtering for an economy vehicle we selected a Ford fiesta shown on the email quote as having free GPS. I booked a car for today 24 Jan 2013 to be collected from Europcar at Paphos Airport via cartrawler. They wanted to charge me 59 Euros for fuel for a Kia Picanto and take it back empty. I understood that there would be airport charges (about 17 Euros) but when they added in the VAT a 64 Euro rental came to 149 Euros. I rejected the car and hired one in town for 110 Euros. It turns out that quotes from the US do NOT include insurance ( as their credit cards usually include it anyway). Do not trust!! I hired a car through them, as I went to collect late the rental company classed me as a 'no show' before they had actually closed, and refunded the full amount of the rental back to Cartrawler. Despite this, Cartrawler claimed that they could not provide me with a new booking, or provide a refund! Don't book anything with them. The company is a scam. The rental company refused to release the car (another story) but Cartrawlers are refusing to issue a refund. Cartrawler found Easirent at Birmingam Airport. Initially I was reasonably happy although their facility was off the airport site they had a satisfactory shuttle bus arrangement. I took Cartrawler's excess insurance and had no need for Easirent's, but without telling me they took the payment anyway. The company behind Honk Hire is actually something called CARTRAWLER. I made a booking with them for a 4 day rental in Milan/Italy. The car was actually provided by AVIS. When I received my credit card statement there was a charge of AVIS out of nowhere of 177,82€!! Tried calling AVIS in Italy and the call was systematically disconnected.
