    PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE AND NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE CAR TRAWLER - A PATHETICALLY USELESS COMPANY. Agreed to hire car, paid deposit and car insurance only to arrive at airport and be told there was no car available. When taking up the issue with customer services on return from holiday they were completely inept and refused to take any responsibility whatsoever. IN MY VIEW CAR TRAWLER ARE NOTHING SHORT OF THIEVES WHO WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY FOR A SERVICE THEY ARE INCAPABLE OF PROVIDING.

    Horrible rip off scamming company! Somehow my husband ended up booking a car through their site (which he did not know he was doing at the time - VERY confusing!!) - when we got to Dublin our car was not there and we had to pay more to get another car. All would not have been so bad had cartrawler not try to charge me an additional $174!!!     No complaints about either the car or the service at the airport- however I was charged an additional airport fee and a late pickup fee despite my rental voucher saying both were included. After several emails I eventually have got a partial refund but their "customer service" department's complaint process seem to be set onto ignore no doubt hoping that you will eventually go away and give up.
    Will never use them again - it would have been cheaper to book direct.

    they took my money from my account, but i didn't get no car there in malaga aeroport, so i did ask at the desk why, and i want a answer for my situation, but the staff there was so rude and no customer service at all ,so iam still waiting for my money back till now.

    I MADE A GOOD-FAITH RESERVATION WITH HERTZ.....BEING SIDE-LINED TO THE CARTRAWLER SITE EN ROUTE. WHEN I SHOWED UP AT HERTZ THEY HAD NO RECORD OF MY BOOKING. I WAS UNDER EXTREME DURESS TO REACH A SICK FAMILY MEMBER TWO HOURS AWAY AND THANKFULLY A KIND HERTZ REPRESENTATIVE MADE ME A NEW BOOKING WITH A SUPERB CAR.
    CARTRAWLER TOOK A DEPOSIT FROM ME, WHICH THEY REFUSE TO REFUND.
    I WOULD CERTAINLY AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.
    THEY SEEM INTENT ON RIPPING PEOPLE OFF......AND AS A PENSIONER I AM ...

    How I wish I had read the reviews in here first. I would have saved myself not only many hours of trying to get the customer services department to stop treating me like a fool, but I would have saved my family a lot of grief and money.
    I paid £215 for a medium sized car. When we arrived at the airport, late in the evening, with two children, we found the cabin shut and no car. We were very lucky to get a very tiny car from another operator for twice the price.

    CARTRAWLER is responsible for arranging hire vehicles via other car rental companies. we had a bad experienc with ERBOY CAR RENTAL COMPANY in TURKEY. The vehicles supplied WERE NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE and to add insult to injury we were charged £889.77 for a mechanical fault that developed on one of the hire cars and only discovered this charge to our credit card when we arrived back home. we also incurred other expences and asked for compensation this was declined from CARTRAWLER. our advice ...

    I used Cartrawler to book a car for my recent holiday I suffer from M S and my left leg is a bit unpredictable so I need an automatic this I booked with cartrawler who quoted 417Euro's, on arrival went to the Europecar desk and was told that ct had reserved a car with manual transmission for me,the only automatic car they had available was an A class Mercedes for which I had to pay 565 euro's.     Hired a car for collection from the airport, either a Toyota Avensis / Citreon C5 or similar. Upon arrival we were told at the collection point they had no car for us and they had repeatidly asked the Agents to stop confriming reservations they could not fulfill. After an hour we were offered a Citreon C2, take it or leave it, we had to take it, we were told to contract Cartrawler to sort out a credit and compensation.     Like many thers we had a nightmare with CT. Their customer services department is the square root of useless.

    In desperation I engaged in direct e mail dialogue with the Chief Exec,Greg Turley. I am pleased to say that did the track and I got me refund very quickly thereafter.

    You might think you are paying a reasonable rate but when you get to the rentals desk they rip you off - I have used a number of car hire firms in Spain but would not recommend cartrawler. Any complaints are not dealt with

    AVOID USING CARTRAWLER.
    I returned my hire car a day early to Girona airport and was told that I would have to contact Cartrawler to get a refund as the booking was made through them.

    Cartrawler has not replied to my emails and nobody has answered my calls on their 20 cents a minute phone line.

    In addition they have not returned the deposit that was charged to my bank card at the time of booking.

    This company sub contracts all its vehicles I ordered a volkwagon golf, when I got to geneve they told me to collect my car at the budget desk,this was closed so I had to go to the avis desk,they gave me a citeon c3 [shopping trolley] I complained at the time and later to cartrawler that the car was in a lower grouping and asked for a refund.They more or less told me to get stuffed and do not intend doing anything.DO NOT USE THEM THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF

    booked a car for family of 5 to find on arrival I had a car for 4..only seat belts...forced to drive illegally and unsafely as no alternative available. Despite a promise of refund the company now refuse to refund claiming I had an alternative car given! They just lie and hope you will go away. Terrible experience BEWARE!

    we requested via ARGUS a car for a holiday in the Algarve in August and recieved an E-mail from a company called Cartrawler saying they could not supply the requested car but would locate something similiar. We received no contact from them so sent an E-mail requesting return of our deposit.     CarTrawler is not a rental company - it is a broker that looks in hundreds (if not thousands) rentals around the world.

    At first I have a mixed feelings - I have booked the car, but did not receive any confirmation in my mailbox. I have waited a day and afterwards tried to contact the CarTrawler. It is difficult - they do not give you any phone number on their website - the only option is to create a ticket and wait for the response (God knows how long).

    Imagine how surprised I was receiving ...

    Using this company has been a complete nightmare. There was no booking when we arrived, no record of there ever having been a booking. Now starts the task of getting back the deposit. From what I have now read of others experience, there is no chance.

    My view would be to avoid this company CarTrawler & Argus Car Hire at all costs.

    booked car, paid deposit,received car rental voucher,went to pick up car only to be told we had been informed by e-mail no cars available, rather strange as cartrawler still had my deposit, we did not have an e-mail, and after contacting cartrawler still not got our deposit back or an appology,we have sent another e-mail 30 08 09 lets see what happens.
