Hired a car for a week using the airline website thinking any company advertised would be reputable. Turned out to be Sicily by Car who have Car Trawler as their agent. Collected car from a very abrupt "sales" person . We agreed to extra insurance and 2nd named driver costing 102 euros. “Not Returning my Deposit”

I am not getting any respond from Cartrawler.com. Partner company Alamo/Enterprise in Frankfurt/Terminal one Airport is not returning my deposit and Cartrawler is not responding to any of my emails. “I prepaid! They didn't have a car for me! Bad service!”

I reserved a large SUV online to transport my family to a funeral in another state. I prepaid to take advantage of the lower rate. When I arrived at the facility the lights were off and no one was there even though it's supposed to be open 24/7. I waited until someone finally got there only to find out that there were no cars AT ALL and none expected to come in any time soon. Sensationally appalling customer service encounter with CarTrawler and their appointed rental company Marbesol. We'd booked and paid for a 5 door car with space for 4x luggage (5 of us travelling together). On our arrival, we were given a 3 door car, and when I queried it, they rudely told me 'a 3 door car should be fine for your needs'. Don´t use this Company for car hire! We used this Company for car hire i Barcelona/Spain in juli/2016. They used Goldcar for their car rentalpartner. We took a insurence for the car, and got a price from Car Trawler Goldcar refused to let us have the car unless we signed a extra insurence for 300 euro . Be very careful, they display a price and once you input your home address, in my case the price jumped with more than 15% and all of that was done before my very eyes and also of two witnesses standing nereby me at the time when I filled in the application. “How to get ripped off”

I will not book this way again. I paid for extra insurance via the Ryanair website to "give me peace of mind". When I picked up the car I was given an unreadable copy of the agreement and I asked what am I paying for - the answer was just fuel. No mention was made of £65 of damage waivers etc. When I got home I realised what I had been charged for. Hi I am not at all happy with Goldcar and Cartrawler. I already booked several times with Cartrawler, but the first and the last time Goldcar. First they charged me 14 Euro when I got the car. Then they charged another 35 Euro for "Check-In Vehicle documents"?? and 67,54 Euro for late return because I gave back the car 12:30 instead of 11:30 (the time Cartrawler automatically generated at booking). I'm absolutely furious about the service received today. I booked a car for my parents holiday paid on my debit card and called to make sure my parents could use their debit card on arrival as additional insurance. My parents arrived in Shannon headed to Europacar only to be told they needed to pay additional insurance over 23 pounds a day ...... i booked a car through CarTrawler for a pick up in late June 16 at Barcelona airport. What a mistake i made. CarTrawler used a company called Interrent. Horrific. I arrived at the desk at 10:15pm and was 15th in the queue. By midnight they had served 4 people. I had my wife and kids with me and we were looking at getting served between 3 and 4am which is clearly ridiculous - especially since there was only a queue of 15 people. While staying in Plama Mallorca we decided to hire a car. We went on line & I found a car through car trawler. Once we booked we found out we were assigned a car from Goldcar which had I realised I wouldn't have gone with as we we've had problems with them before. I booked directly online with Thrifty Car rental. Later found out I had booked with Car Trawler (complete shock to me) and had to pay twice. Still trying to get my money back but it's nearly impossible given their complicated procedure. Go elsewhere.I got to the Thrifty counter in Boston and they would not allow me to use my debit card, nor would Car Trawler release the money. Same with me, I booked directly with Thrifty, all Thrifty vouchers etc. When collecting car I was informed I had to buy a "Mileage Pack" as I was "Going out of a neighboring State", despite having paid for "Unlimited MIleage". When I tried to complain I was directed to Car Trawler & have had no joy getting a refund. I was quizzed to my travels when collecting car & when I said where we were going -- hey-ho - must buy a mileage pack !! Surely Unlimited Mileage means just that -- I have never had this in North America before on lots of Rentals over the years, obviously a new angle for more commission maybe ?

This e-mail proves me that you are a distrust company. I paid to you the full charge for one week rental of Volkswagen Golf/Kia Cee'd or simlar and I didn't receive that car. This is why I will post a message in every place I find on the internet to tell to your possible clients how bad are your services, how bad you treat clients, so everyone will know better and avoid you. This is Day Five dealing with Dollar Car Rental and Car Trawler. Both companies are blaming each other for the Double Billing. Both companies have failed to resolve this issue. VERY BAD customer service with Cartrawler. Book this company through Hotel.com, never heard of this but trust Hotel.com. Rent a car with Thrifty in Los Angeles. The booking voucher from Cartwaler shows I have pre-paid for the rental cost with taxes and LDW.
