Good Points: Easy to set up and connect - none of the problems reported by others. Small size. Excellent sound.

    Bad Points: Limited capacity

General comments: Found it really easy to get working - plug and play really. Interface seems intuitive. I like it a lot so far

Bought a Samsung YP-U3 yesterday and the same problems as everyone else. The following worked though (from another trouble shooting web site). 1. Download Windows Media Player 11. 2. Download Windows Media Player 10 SDK. 3. Download mtppk12.exe from Windows Update. Don't ask me why but my lap-top (running XP Professional) now recognises the MP3 as a mass storage device and lets me download tracks to it.

Same problems as others - device isn't recognised. I have WMP 10 and the drivers and I've tried deleting and reinstalling etc. still no joy. When it working its OK but unable to add more music/remove music because can't recognise it! Pointless.

You need to use the Hold switch to lock the keypad if you put it in your pocket - otherwise the keys are likely to be accidentally pressed. I love this player - I bought one for my son (it's probably his 5th or 6th MP3 player in 4 years) and he likes it a lot (other than the limited capacity). It's light, small, easy to operate, easy to load songs with (WMP works just fine), and has very good sound quality. For the price, it's hard to beat. In fact, that's why I bought one for myself - couldn ...

I use a PC (windows XP) and Winamp. For £29 I think this is an excellent mp3 player - I've had 4 others which have died / broken / got lost. This is my favourite. The driver is available at http://www.samsung.com/sg/support/download/supportDown.do?group=mp3audiovideo&type=mp3player&subtype=mp3player&model_nm=YP-U3ZB&language=&cate_type=all&dType=D&mType=SW&vType=R&prd_ia_cd=03040200&acc_ia_fl=&disp_nm=YP-U3

yip, device not recognised. went through all the device manager settings, tried repairing the driver, device manager says it's working, but then I plug my U3 into the USB and what happens? nothing! major , major problems with trying to sort this out. I even spoke to 2 different Samsung customer service agents for a combined period of all most 90 minutes about the problem who tried, but could not provide a solution. wasted heaps of time with this, very disappointing Samsung.

Doesn't need a driver under XP or Vista, despite what any other reviews might say - it just plugs in as a USB drive and away you go.

Please, do a search on Samsung YP-U3 driver install BEFORE you buy this. You will find MANY people had difficulty with it and ended up returning it (As I did, and I am far from a computer novice). The complaints are many, please save yourself the headache. Other units must work better than this.
