Dont waste your time on the 3 months for free, you will be wasting your time and effort, their customer service sucks. They can not help you at all. That is not their duty to help you as they had informed me. You will be out of luck if you lose a content or missing a file, they wont budge to help you on their upper team. 1 and 1 has to be one of the worst providers of email I have ever encountered; I rely on using 1and1 to send emails to my clients and as a recruitment business it is pivotal clients received the CV's we send out as soon as possible. “WORST Customer Service Ever”

I have used 1 and 1 for 2+years, every year I have an issue. This year, my business has not been able to send emails, EVERY email bounces back. I am without email for 3 days, I have made multiple calls to their call centres, sent multiple emails to their support team with copies of bounce backs - I have received no call, no response (except the automated one) and 3 days in, my emails still do not work. “Billings / Cancellation Problems ”

Was a !+1 customers for many years, but when I retired through ill health and my business closed,all my accounts including my 1+1 account were closed in September 2014. Everything was fine in my retirement until January this year when I recieved a threatning final demand from a debt collection company for nearly £100 in respect of 1+1 from last September. 1+1 claimed they never received notification of cancellation and are adamant they want the money. “Agreed: their customer service is infuriating”

I got started on this with a 2 year free hosting deal- like a decade ago. For years after I payed a small amount (but still too much) to host some crappy, static HTML. Now I've changed banks, and despite my changed billing details, they charged my old, incorrect paypal account. That's is a hassle since I'm living in a different country from the associated bank. Let's start on a positive. 1and1 are cheap compared to most other hosts. That may seem like a good thing and could potentially work for you if you NEVER, EVER run into any issues. In real life, you are bound to have a problem at some point and this is where 1and1 fall down. Do not use this company unless you want poor service, support from un-professional people who are poorly trained and under qualified. “Charged for a Domain I Do Not Own”

Once again 1&1 Internet Ltd in the UK have charged me to renew a domain name I do not own or control. Absolute shambles. The standard response email just tells me how to cancel any domains I own. How can I cancel a domain I do not own, yet 1&1 have still managed to charge me to renew for 24 months. Avoid at all costs ever hosting a website / blog with 1&1 in the UK. tried calling them on all the numbers they list on their website. After 15 minutes of listening to music at my expense and repeated several times I gave up and emailed them. Several replies to which I replied in which they asked me three times for my telephone number to call me back. That was several hours ago and not one call. They are all promises and little else. “Designed to annoy!”

Changing nameservers is a simple task that takes seconds with most companies. With 1and1 it takes seconds and then their inbuilt "annoy the customer as much as possible" system kicks in. They apply the change to their server but have an inbuilt delay "of between 24 and 48 hours" before they tell the Internet that the change has been applied. The customer service at this company is terrible. 1and1 might as well have an automated line and let you speak to no one as it would be more helpful and you'd get a quicker response. Also there products are basic, badly thought through and the site is very slow to use. Unresolved issues have been piling up and now I have decided to take the time to move every one of our long list of domain names to another hosting company. Whatever you do ensure you avoid 1and1 at all costs. They are by far the worst hosts. If you shop around you will find the same price or cheaper but from a host that does not block your site for no reason and does not care at all. The support staff can never help with anything and don't know what they are doing. If you want to install any software it is always more difficult on 1and1 as they block all kinds of software.
