think banking is only good for accounts were you never need more than £450 cash in one go or were you only ever use your card to make payments and do not spend in excess of @ £300 or it will start refusing payments, drawing money over that amount at a rbs branch is super super complicated and virtually impossible.
i would suggest setting up internet side of think banking account to manage dd online otherwise telephone calls are always in excess of 20-30mins with huge q's and you have to go through all transactions on the account EVERY time you call and speak to someone which is irritating and time consuming.
Having said all that for a basic "no credit check" account for wages of less than £450 wk that you spend in dribs and drabs throughout the week its good, staff are very capable and will try to resolve problems.

Think banking is a bit of a mixed bag.
The system work thus; 1.Money is paid in to your account 2. Money is split between two sub-accounts A)called saleries and B)called card account. The theory is that you set up direct debits with Think banking and they hold back the total amount due. They release this to the various creditors as and when they apply for it. The remaineder of you money is transfered onto your account to spend at the end of the month you get a bank statement from RBS, but ther ...- Read TherealButterbean's review (730 words)

I have been a think banking customer for 3 and a half years now and it is a bit of a pain to use, usually because you are always having to phone them to transfer money or sort out a problem usually which has arisen by them not transfering money over to the card account, and with it being an 0845 number you get charged a fortune as the average time to have your call answered is 10-15 mins, and everytime you phone they want to run through regular payments with you which means even longer on the ph ...- Read Guest's review (343 words)

Think Banking Managed Account is possibly the worst step I've ever made financially! I now have 3 outstanding complaints with them after being a customer for only 4 months. They seem to be very difficult to contact, I've had major issues with them advertising a 24-hour internet service then finding that the site is down when I want to use it. I've had my debit card declined in numerous retailers, which has left me stuck for cash and even meant I got thrown off a train!
They have also held ...- Read Guest's review (214 words)

I joined thinkbanking years ago because they said I wouldn't have a good chance of joining any high street bank. There was no person to person customer service. Everything had to be done over the phone costing call charges. To receive a balance, you would have to text them at your cost. You had no control over the situation and the monthly fee is not worth £12.50, £8 when i joined. The debit card couldn't take refunds automatically and had to be manually swiped, thinkbanking did ...- Read Guest's review (151 words)

I have been with thinkbanking for over a year now and it is the best thing that i have ever done, i can use my card at anytime because i always know that the money in my card account is to spend as my bills are taken into account in a seperate account, there has not been anything that i didn't like, the service and the staff are excellent and paying £12.50 a month seems a very small price to pay for the peace of mind it gives u to know that ur bills are paid. Well done to the Royal Bank of ...- Read Guest's review (111 words)

I cant praise Think Banking highly enough. We took an account out with them about a year ago, after having loads of trouble with bounced direct debits etc with the big banks. We have never looked back. We pay all of our direct debits on time now and hopefully, this will be helping to build our credit rating back up again.
The staff are always friendly and helpful and never judgemental.
I would recommend think banking to everyone.- Read Guest's review (78 words)

I am extremley pleased with my account, I have been with Think Banking for a while now and TRUST ME I have had loads of accounts. For those who disapprove, think what a mess barclays make with charges, Natwest, HSBC. Now think about what they offer as text message to your balance? notification by text to your phone? an account manager on the phone that has time to guide you through and good advice? No they dont, but for paying £12.50 per month is better than a £200 bill for direct d ...- Read Guest's review (102 words)

I opened an account with Think Banking a couple of months ago.
I 'Think' they amazing.
The ease of opening the account (although there is a charge of £25.00 for a set up fee and a monthly fee of £ 12.50) was painless and stress less. You get your own accounts manager who deals with everything. The staff are very helpful and THEY DO WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO......BE GOOD WITH THEIR CUSTOMERS. Think Banking is part of the RBS group. I think Natwest is also with RBS to.
Give them ...- Read Guest's review (116 words)

Absoloutely awful, Think Banking Managed Account said my pay cheque would take 3 days to clear, 10 days later and lot of hassle i could access my money. Card payments/withdrawals refused, but only intermittently, took them 2 months to decide there may be an error with the card then said they wouldnt charge me to replace it! Never less than a 10 minute wait to speak to an advisor, hence a rise in phone bills! Advisors not fulfilling what they say to try and keep you happy. Not setting up acco ...- Read Guest's review (103 words)

Think Banking account is without doubt the best account I've ever had. The £12.50 monthly charge is no bad point as the account never charges you if a bill is bigger than expected and is returned. As long as you keep them up to date with your incomes and outgoings then I have not had one single problem other than the card can only be used in about 90% of shops. The text messaging service is accurate and instantly updated and now the internet banking service is online the package is comple ...- Read Guest's review (93 words)

I would like to see this bank open for longer at the weekend. Our world doesnot stop at the weekend and major banks cover weekends so why can think banking. I would like to also receive the text messages for our joint account as well as my husband.
Staff seem to be quicker to answer called lately, so maybe they have more staff or lines available.- Read Guest's review (178 words)

Good for people who struggle with managing bills. Think banking helps you organize your bills better, they total up your outgoings for the month and split it up over 4 weeks so your bills are paid no matter what. This ensures you never miss a direct debit.- Read Guest's review (46 words)

Think Banking is an excellent idea and open to the masses. They charge £12.50 for the monthly service but this is money not missed and not a bad point. The SMS text message service is a very good idea and is updated immediately after a transaction and it will detail the transaction (i.e. where and how much spent). Internet banking will be finalized December 2008 and will make my rating increase to 9 out of 10. Once they sort out staffing issues to deal with high volumes of calls this will ...- Read rgbbrown's review (432 words)
