“Clunky, Heavey, Unscopeable”

Written on: 05/05/2013 by russinbaja (1 review written)

I've had the Sniper 125 in 177 for about two months now and run about 2,000 pellets thru it. First impressions were that it's heavy, hard cocking and kicks like a mule. The hard sights are okay and a ton better than the Gamo Whisper I had. 1st scope would hold for about four shots. After zeroing it five or six times I gave up and switched scopes. Same results. Tried three more scopes, all rated for airguns, and none would hold the zero. I'm use to the kick, cocking effort and love the power… Read Full Review

I own his brother Hatsan 125 in .25 cal.
If you want a scope that withstands the kick of the rifle just use the Nikko Stirling Goldcrown 4 X 32.
It's a cheap scope, € 75, with the mildots in the lens.
It does it's job extreamly well, once it's set to zero it will hold that position verry good even after 1500 rounds fired.
You have to break the lens to make it go out of zero.
My rifle performs at its best, with believe it or not, with the Predator Polymag .25 made by JSB.
They group verry well at 50 yards 1 1/2 inch, punch nice hole's in the paper and verry big hole's in birds etc. at that distance.

You MUST use a proper air rifle scope one that is designed to take the harsh recoil of a powerful spring piston air rifle. You cannot just put any regular scope on these guns!! Try a Leapers,Center point or Hawke scope. This applies to all powerful sprinters like Hatsan, RWS and Beeman

you just need to get a magnum rated scope with a good ONE PIECE mount. single rings are not going to hold up on these guns. i own three of them. all three are scoped properly, and they all hold zero just fine

hi, well i have the .22 and have had the same problems as you have had scope falling off or doing its be to do so. ok the gun was a present at xmas and in between work and family not had a gread deal of time to spend with it, it got to the stage were i was almost ready to bin it. BUT!!?? 4 scopes and 5 diffrent mounts and 10 months of a few hrs here and there a few shots zeroing only to have it go wrong (VERY) but we have sorted it. as i would not go ratting with it as i was not happy . but last friday night armed with new mounts, i zero in so far so good but the mounts have a wing thumb nut so you can check if its coming adrift, and yes it was, in 10 shots the wing nuts went from 6 o clock to 12 a full half turn on top of what i called extra tight. ok to the ratting 3 shots @ 22/25mtrs 3 instant kills with gamo wad cutters, the rats no trauma instant kill. so good mounts good end result so far but we will see. heavy but stunning good kit for the money
happy days

My Hatsan Model 125 is now collecting dust. I bought a Synthetic Marauder. I had to go check the target after the first couple shots thinking there had to be something wrong. It was blowing 177 pellets right through 3/4 plywood but it was so quiet I thought something must be wrong. I've had the Marauder for awhile now and it is a treat to shoot! My groups are within 5¢ at 35 yards and I'm not a good shot.... or wasn't. 10 round mag and 30 to 50 shots per fill.

Hi I'm about to buy a hatsan 125 but i wonder the range that you can get out of this rifle if it's a 6.35mm. I'd like to know which one of the 6.35 5.5 and 4.5mm is the best for hunting games. Could you light me up about it ? like to hit fox and any other kind of pests

I think you may not like the idea of Turkish air rifle has better quality first they don't use light pellet if you want 1200 fps on the rifle you will get that unless you use really heavy pellet read the reviews on pyramyd air mall or air gun depot probably you don't know how to use the rifle and Chinese has some decent air rifle but never compared with Hatsan air rifles i buy Crosman Quest 1000 1.77 pretty decent made in China.I also buy Gamo big cat .22 hit hard but Hatsan has better FPS air rifles

“overall great but with a few niggles”

when I first saw this air rifle on a gun rack I thought I had found my new hunting air rifle. The shop which I was visiting allowed me to have a few test shots I thought I was holding a proper firearm. The length of the rifle felt right with me being 6 foot 1 inchs. A friend of mine said that it reminded him of the old L1A1 SLR due to the length and weight of the rifle. One of the two annoying things about this rifle is its weight. You are definately holding a rifle thats for sure. the second… Read Full Review

“Great shooting rifle!”

Written on: 20/01/2012

I have the 125 sniper version, and it is a tack driver! With the 20 gr. Field target specials, it is sighted in at 1.5" hight at 30 yards and drops 2" at 65, with accuracy averaging about 1.75". There is nothing at all to complain about here; it is a good value for the money. It also is extremely accurate with the H&N 31 gr. heavies, and they penetrate a 3/4" plywood with ease at 50 yards. very well made, I have 50 air rifles and love this one! What kind of accuracy you mean when talking about low-end GAMO pellets? A teapot-sized target at 15 meters?! :)
H.125 isn't very accurate rifle in any way. To unleash it's potencial is highly recomended to use hi-quality and heavy pellets, for example crosman premier 10.5 or JSB exact heavy.
Diana and gamo rifles may be overpriced, but they are much more accurate: with a proper pellets you can consistantly hit a bottle-cap at 40-50 meters or make a headshot to a squirell. When you shooting - you don't think about price, you feels only what you got and how it performs.

i have owned many rifles but as of yet i have not found one that can match the power and accuracy of the hatsan 125. it has to be said that it is on the heavy side and it takes a strong arm to cock this rifle. on firing it is quite loud but the range, power and accuracy is very impressive. i would strongly recommend using a scope to get the most out of this rifle. mine takes a 6.35mm pellet and packs quite a punch. this rifle is not suitable for children due to its weight, length and power. in… Read Full Review

After looking on the net and checking what was available in the area I decided upon a Hatsan 125th .22 price was good for such a high fps.
thought it was a bit heavy and bulky and fairly noisy. hatsan supply it with extentions for the stock why anyone would need to make it longer I am unsure, I am over 6 ft tall and have a long reach and its long enough. -Very powerful, 800-900 fps in reality.(in .22)

Hatsan is really the only brand that exceeds their marketing claims when it comes to velocity. So yes with the .22 if you are putting 20< grain pellets through the gun then will probably get 800-900fps but with the standard RWS hobby pellets the Hatsan 125 exceeds its velocity claims. Also by no means are Hatsan air rifles cheaply made. They use German steel and top grade synthetics and have features such as the SAS which more expensive guns don't even have. In my opinion Hatsan air rifles out match the more expensive competing brands.
