I used my ipod nano for the last year and apart from my head phones (which came from my older ipod photo!) the ipod is still working fine; Ive currently got 900 songs and around 100 pictures the games are fun and the sound quality is very good I just wish the sound was just a little bit louder. I use my ipod to and from school most days which is around half an hour journey and once fully charged it normally lasts around 3weeks!
Its very good value for money would recomend. Good battery time, good range of colours I've got the silver one.

Compact nice colours ( mines is green ) allows a lot of songs and pictures to be uploaded Headphones tend to snap or one stops working and all u hear in it is a crackly sound and it freezes occasionally! To solve this problem you hold in menu and the colour button in the middle untill a black and white apple appears on the screen that's it restarting Worth the money nice compact I would recommend buying cheap earphone as they work better than the £25 Ipod ones

The Apple iPod works great for the first year...
Then the warranty runs out and they coincidently break
A waste of money because they can't even fix it and im not paying £130 for a new one

The Apple iPod looks great and has an excellent sound quality. I don't find it easy to set up and it also scratches easily. It is helpful to buy a cover to stop it from scratching!

Nothing really bad to say about the Nano 3rd gen. My first experience of it was not great as it crashed the first time i switched it on, it had to be reset and has been great since.

For the price and the trouble, it is not worth it. Who wants an item that freezes everyday????????? Wouldn't recommend it!!! It is a shame as the memory capability is out of this world!!!!

Buy five Mp3 players for the same price instead.

The missus brought me a new generation Apple iPod nano 4gb back from the US and I'm well impressed.
Even though it's only 4gb I've already loaded up over 100 songs and 20 music videos all good quality and haven't even used a quarter of the memory yet, however its probably worth buying the bigger one if you're going to start putting lots of videos on there.
The sound quality is good, but the headphones are not as good as the original Nano headphones - apple have moved towards the tacky white plastic things instead of the squishy in ear jobbies like before.
The battery life with videos is only 5 hours which is pretty poor, but then a full charge is only a couple of hours so its not that bad, also it only comes with USB cable - no mains charger, so if you have no PC you're goosed. Battery life with music only is 12 hours.
I mark this down slightly for value for money as they are £99 in the UK, but only $150 in the US, thus a £25 saving if bought in the US. I would also have expected Apple to incorporate an FM transmitter (and quite possibly and receiver also) into the unit as they are so new, but no such luck - which is a bit of a problem if you want your ipod to work through your car stereo.
Anyway, overall I'm really pleased with it, its small, very thin, light and does a great job. I've had to hide it from the kids otherwise it would be long gone!

I hate it when companies put out bigger, better etc. within weeks of me spending huge bucks making my purchase almost obsolete and that's what happened with me and my iPod.

It is bad enough that the iPod Nano locks up continuously, but it is even worse that Apple makes it impossible for the customer to do anything about it. Just try their customer service for yourself! We have owned it since January 3rd 2006, after buying it directly from Apple. That was a mistake. If we would have purchased it from a retailer we could at least try to gain their support for such a poorly designed product.

I bought the Apple iPod for my daughter for Christmas 2005. We have owned the iPod now for 8 months, spending 5 of those months trying to get a working iPod in my hands. We have reset buttons, passed DHL boxes back and forth containing refurbished iPod's to replace the new one I purchased. We have tried new cords, but all to NO avail. We still have a non-functioning iPod in hand. We have spent days (and I do mean days) waiting on the phone for representatives, hearing recordings and being put on hold. Each representative passes you on to the next because they don't have the authorization. Would I recommend anyone to buy the iPod? After reading this what would you think?

Overall the Apple iPod is very good, good value for money and beautiful sound quality. The screen tends to scratch easily so I'd suggest using the see-through plastic sheet to put over the screen so it won't get damaged. The battery tends to wear a bit thin after a while, so buy a new battery when you think it's carked it.

My husband bought me an ipod nano for my birthday. The sound is great and you can store a lot of songs. However after using 3 or 4 days I-pod Nano, it just stopped working. Nothing on the screen. My husband bought the extra warrantee thank god and we wanted to change it but the store didn't have any. They took it back but we lost the money on the extra warrantee. It is a rip-off I think it is just not worth money, a small mp3 player with usb works the same and it is 10 times cheaper.

I bought this Apple Ipod mini and it went smoothly for a while, but I would say after like 6 months it started to freeze up for no reason. Then for no apparent reason it stopped playing all together and when I sent it in to be repaired, I was told that because there were scratches on the exterior that the damaage was my fault and they denied my repair. It is ridiculous to deny repair just because the unit had NORMAL wear and tear on it. This is an outrage and I would not recommend using Apple ipod, it's not worth it. A friend of mine has a cheap little MP3 player for longer than I've had mine, it's not as fancy or pretty, it's smaller and holds less songs but it's lasted longer than my ipod mini and it's still going strong.

I bought an IPOD Nano 2 months ago, and it has just stopped working. I also bought my boyfriend the 60 gig one at Xmas and it stopped working in January. They just freeze up. Thank God we bought the warranties on them. I hear this is very common with the ipods.

I have owned an Ipod mini for 9 months and the battery life is horrible. i took it to the ipod bar in the Apple store twice to get it restored (The Apple store is very unorganized, you have to make an appointment online or call in the same day and they are always running late) finally they are opting to replace it, but of course its not in stock and i will have to wait for it to be shipped in, not also to include that i have been trying to get it fixed through Apple for two months. Although it is being replaced, it makes you wonder is it really worth it, not too mention there where 5 customers waiting to be called and they all had the same problem as me. No wonder they pitch the Apple care so hard, they no it will break. Not worth the drama

I bought my daughter and I-pod mini for her birthday in Feb 2005. After about six months, we were unable to load new songs onto it in I-tunes as it was not recognising the I-pod (nothing to do with my PC which is functioning fine). One year and one month later, the hard drive has failed and the unit is completely unuseable.
I have spoken to Apple's service centre in London, who advised me that the repair would most likely cost around £150 and therefore it was not worth it.

I disagree, I have had mine almost three years and have never had a problem with it, and I use it 5 days a week at least!
