“Special Gift”

written by spicynoodles on 12/11/2011

This is the most wonderful gift I ever have. Aside from it is owned and maintained by Apple Inc., it has many features that is almost the same with an iPhone. Well recommended.

written by rupal2 on 05/07/2011

I bought my iTouch about 2 years ago, and I really did think it was great. It had all the functions of an iPhone, minus the ability to send a receive calls. I used to use it everyday, to listen to music, play games, wake me up, or just to note down things I needed to do. But then something tragic happened. I decided to charge it (as you do) and the screen turned white. As yet I have still not managed to get it fixed, as Apple have decided to charge me £100 for this service. The iTouch is worth the money, if it doesn't die.

“iPod Touch (3rd generation) ”

★★★★★

written by ktimaj99 on 28/01/2011

iPod Touch (3rd generation)
The iPod Touch is really cool, here are reasons why it's entertaining. One, while you're listening to music it's super clear. The iPod Touch has lots of fun games, some (not a lot) you have to pay, but not all of them. You have to pay for all the music. Depending on the gigabytes, you can download as many apps as you want. The iPod Touch is so fun!

“When I purchased my I-Pod Touch for Christmas I was...”

★★★☆☆

written by JournalistWilliams on 21/09/2010

When I purchased my I-Pod Touch for Christmas I was excited to have a new mp3 player that I could connect to the internet with and enjoy the vast list of applications to preoccupy my time with if I got bored. I found it to be a fun gadget but with some annoying issues.

Firstly the positives.
1) Touch screen interface is beautifully smooth and fun.
2) Internet works very well and viewing pages has never been easier with a simple zoom and scroll function.
3) Thousands of applications that can turn it into a little handheld gaming device or a musical piano.
4) Perfect screen that's a nice size to view videos or pictures.

Now the negatives.
1) You cannot gain access to the internet without Wi-Fi connection; whereas an I Phone can connect to the web without WI-Fi and play music like an IPod.
2) Shaking the IPod even slightly causes the music to shuffle and play a song at random, this was often irritating as I'd forget to click the lock button out of habit and it would jump songs as I walked.
3) I enjoy my playlists which are often very long and if I wanted to skip a song, I'd have to take the IPod out of my pocket, un-lock it, press the next button and then re-lock before putting back in my pocket, which I found irritating.
4) Screen and casing smudges/marks very easily making the IPod look dirty, so had to buy a special cloth and case to prevent dirty marks and scratches.

In the end I sold my IPod Touch to my friend and replaced the battery on my classic IPod, as I missed the simplicity of skipping songs and not worrying about locking/unlocking or walking too fast and causing my Touch to shuffle music. If the main purpose of you buying the Pod is just listening to music and you're not bothered with applications or internet, my suggestion is to buy a Classic/Nano Pod which is far more simplistic. However, if you want something to play with and use to get your mails at home quicker etc than it's a very good option if you can't afford the I Phone.

written by on 09/09/2010

I got my iPod touch about 5 weeks ago and was very happy. As the price was quite high (I bought on the Apple store online), I thought the quality to be good.
However, yesterday I spilled some water over it and it stopped working.
I was in shattered, in tears.
I called Apple and they said the fix would cost 80GBP, a discounted rate but still half the price of a new one.
I am so sad because now I can see that the high price I paid was only for the brand/Marketing of the company :(.

I found this review not helpful because... The user has broken their Ipod Touch by spilling water onto it. - It is not waterproof! You break it you pay for the repair!
<br/>
<br/>You paid for an Ipod Touch which is what you got, and seems you were happy with.
<br/>
<br/>What you didn't do is pay for insurance, your loss. People ignore this 1 star rating!

“I purchased the 3rd generation iPod touch on new years...”

★★★★★

written by Ash Margrove on 13/06/2010

I purchased the 3rd generation iPod touch on new years eve, for £209.00 from amazon. This was an Update to replace my first generation iPod touch.

Well what can I say, Apple always make out standing devices; some of them do come at a price to pay. The 3rd generation iPod touch is twice as fast as the 1st and 2nd generations. If you do update from the 1st/2nd generation you will notice a huge speed increase.

When 4.0 is released the 3rd generation iPod touch will really shine. It will support multitasking, personalised backgrounds (on the spring board) and many more features. This is going to be a big update for all iDevices.

I am happy with my 3rd generation iPod touch, and I really think if your looking into buying one, go for the 32gb or the 64gb you will be happy when iOS4 is released!

“3rd generation ipod touches are quite different...”

★★★★☆

written by Erialc Ttemmah on 20/04/2010

3rd generation ipod touches are quite different depending on the capacity. The 8gb version has exactly the same hardware as the 2nd generation and is therefore the same as the 8gb 2nd generation ipod touch. However, the 32gb and 64gb version have different hardware and Apple says that they can be up to 50% faster. My 32gb model is fast, attractive and a great investment. My only real issue is that it needs to be in a WiFi zone to use the internet and lots of apps. Therefore, apps such as "Toilet Finder" do not work when you are out and about. Also, the chrome back is a scratch magnet! BUY A CASE AND SCREEN PROTECTOR TO PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT. Overall, I think it is quite good value for money as you can get loads of free apps. Really good product.

The iPod Touch is a really cool device and I think that it is very worthy for the money that one pays for it! Also, the device has several nice features like Wifi and internet and it continues to deliver really good music output! The clarity of songs and videos in this device is really outstanding. Also, the 32 GB version is the best as it can hold a lot of data and the 64 GB model is also good! It is a must have gadget for any geek!

written by TiffA759 on 23/01/2010

This is an extraordinary piece of kit. There are so many things you can do on it. Right now I am writing my review from it! The Internet connection is great and very fast, although you have to be near a wireless router around the house. The apps you get with it are also excellent although you do have to pay for most of the good ones and you generally only get demo versions for free but there are some bargains! The screen is a good size and the keyboard is well calibrated. The video quality is not compromised as far as I can see. ( I used to have a nano chromatic). The music is as you would expect and on the go playlists are easy to create. There is a voice recorder and a skype app (which is free) for which there is a microphone on the earphones which you can ajust the sound on. You can also ajust the sound on the side of the iPod. If you want to change the song while playing an app you can double tap the bottom button which makes things very easy. The amount of storage is fine I definately wouldn't want a 64 gb for what I have on it. iTunes also offer a 12 darts of Christmas app which gives you a free item every day after the festive period. There are so many things good about this iPod, too much to write down here.

written by on 23/09/2009

It's small, it's sleek and once you've got one you'll wonder how you ever managed without it. Music, Video, Email, the Internet are all only a button away (if you've got wi-fi handy) but the best thing of all are the Apps. Believe me whatever you want there's virtually an App for it. Infact the itouch is a minor miracle of the modern age. Books, Television, Games, Weather Reports, Stock Market updates the uses are endless. I got one over ten months ago and I'm still it using everyday.
Best Tips I can give are:
Buy one with the lagest memory you can afford.
Set up an itunes account straight away (Use their giftcards only, then you won't get a nasty credit card bill)
Buy a wall recharger it saves time and is more convenient
A carry case stops all those nasty scratches.

written by kingofreviews on 21/09/2009

Like many of the other "i" products, this Apple iPod Touch 64GB is a combination of a few technological advances plus a great user interface. I actually bought this to act as an additional controller for a Sonos music system, but have found it great as a portable music player, and as a handheld games console for the kids. Battery life not as great as it could be....

Although the Apple I-pod Touch seems like it is something out of a new Sci-fi film- it still manages to get you addicted. My mother- who is out of touch (to say the least) with technology, recently got one and loves it! It's all about getting to know it, and to love it.

the iPod touch is beautful, smart and well worth its price. i got mine five months ago. unfortunatey, it is absolutley covered in scratches! not the screen bit, thats practically unscratchable, just the back, it really spoils the look. perhaps if you purchased a cover, that would help :)

The Apple iPod Touch Sound quality is great when listening on an ipod dock or my cambridge soundworks 5.1 speakers but when playing through a large PA system, if you are being very, very fusy, it sounds slightly lower quality. It isn't like a nano were you can just throw it in your pocket or drop it without worrying about it getting damaged. This is definately a great MP4 Player. I would recommend it to anyone however, if you would like an MP3 player for pure sound quality, I would consider a Nano or maybe an iRiver.

Yes, the iPod Touch is an outstanding and an absolutely gorgeous product. I mean, I've been using MP3-Players from the very beginning, and I can't remember any, which were that functional.
Basically you can almost completely customize your iPod and adopt it depending on your personal needs. I mean it's got Wi-Fi, tons of games available on iTunes etc.pp. To get straight to the point: There is only one iPod Touch ... when it comes to functionality.
It's like in the good ol days with our beloved mobile phones. Only with the difference that the telecommunication-industry haven't forgotten their roots. Back then, it was all about making calls and receiving ones. Nowadays, all mobiles phones are equipped with thousands of gadgets to ease up your life, but still, the quality of telephone calls has improved a lot.
Apple, instead, has released a products, which really fits to the young people from today, but it completely missed the ""music""-point. A good sound quality should be the most important, and top-priority function for a MP3-Player, especially one which is that expensive. Even the best functions, can't make it up that the sound-quality is below average. High/Lows are unclear etc.pp. Apple really missed it. This product could had been perfect.
If you look for a MP3-Player with top-notch functions, go for the Pod. If you look for a MP3-Player with outstanding sound quality, choose Samsung (YP-P3), Sony (X-Series) or Cowon over Apple!

“iPod Touch ”

★★★★★

written by zjc on 17/11/2008

iPod Touch
From the moment of watching the Keynote when the iPod was released I knew I had to get one. I have been an Apple fan for quite some time but never bought an iPod before due to the price tag. But, I couldn't resist the iPod Touch.
Basic Features -
The iPod Touch has a battery life of around 22 hours (Music). Be aware this is with the Wi-Fi Option turned off. Even having the Wi-Fi turned on but not connected uses power.
The video playback time is around 5 Hours although I have not yet tested this feature.

The Safari and YouTube features are fantastic, great for quick browsing when I don't want to turn on my computer. Be aware though not all YouTube videos will play its only new ones that have been converted to the new format.
The Calendar is a great feature they also added the option to add items to the calendar. All that's missing is reminders for items you have added.

The clock is great, keep an eye on times from nearly every country in the world. It also has a built in timer and stopwatch which both work great. Although it's difficult to hear the sound with they're not being a fully working built in speaker.
The calculator is just a standard calculator but great if you need one in a rush. Very quick and easy to use.

Contacts application is the same you find on the iPhone, but without calling features. You can set pictures for your contacts and add there address. It also gives you the option to add notes about people.
The iTunes Wi-Fi store is fantastic; it lets you buy music on the go as long as there is a Wi-Fi signal. The song is downloaded straight to the iPod and is sync to the computer you use. The store is very easy to navigate.

The photo application is fantastic. Lets you view all your photos with the flick of a finger or put the iPod on a stand and let it act as a mini photo frame. It will automatically play through all your photos or any album you choose.
In January Apple made it available to download the iPhone applications for the iPod Touch

This Includes - Notes, Maps, Mail, Weather and Stocks.
These applications are great but again you need a Wi-Fi signal to use which is a bit of a down side. I havent had much experience with Stocks.

Weather - Lets you check the weather for your local area or the other side of the world. Fast updating. This service is provided by Yahoo!
Notes - Write yourself a quick note in no time at all. The iPod saves the note to its memory and it can be deleted at any time. (Wi-Fi is not needed for this application)

Mail - Amazing application works with POP3 and IMPA mail services. Some of the major providers are already pre-saved in the system or you can set it up manually. The iPod does not support web based email such as Hotmail.
Maps - Google maps at your hand. Directions from anywhere you want at the touch of a button. (As long as you have Wi-Fi). There is also a locate me feature which will work with certain public wireless networks. Zoom in and out and view in the same modes as you can on the internet.

These applications are available for £12.99 for current owners or free for new customers.
Music - The iPod has amazing music features. Cover flow makes it easy to view all your music if you can be bothered to drag all the album artwork into iTunes. Or just use the normal view to flick with your finger through all your music. Music is also ordered in alphabetical order. You can view music in many different ways including, Artist Song Album Composer and many more which can be all changed on the iPod.

The iPod earphones have amazing quality but do tent to break if used quite a lot. Replacement ones do cost £19.00 so I recomende you take good care of them.
Just to finish off with you can now add web clips (Bookmarks) to the home screen of the iPod and also move the icons on the screen to which ever order you wish. You can also change the items in the dock.

Apple are continuously updating the iPod with new features and improving the current ones and there is a bright future ahead for the iPod Touch.
It isn't just an amazing iPod it can also act as a mini business PDA and many other things.

I hope I have helped with my Basic review of the iPod Touch, anything else doesn't be afraid to ask.
