Never had a bad meal at Akbars, the food is consitently good, just the same at both Leeds, York and Manchester. Service always quick & friendly. Sometimes it can get a bit crowded round the bar but don't mind as it adds to the atmosphere of the place. Once we sat upstairs and wouldn't want to again as we felt a 'bit out of it'.................. Overall a great place to eat!

Good and cheap. I hope this place stays the same and doesn't in a few years time become like pizza hut, KFC etc.

As an indian person i regularly return to Akbar's Restaurant, Bradford, a thriving busy place and am pleased by the mix of people that is in their customer base. You are quickly served once you are at the table and your food is brought to your table by a chef. I find the atmosphere engaging and you can bring your whole family. On special occasions they give you a cake as well as a song. I have eaten at may restaurants but Akbars has that special something that makes me return again and again.

I booked a table a week in advance for a Saturday night 4 adults with 2 children. I wanted the upstairs part of the restaurant as i heard from friends it was much more relaxed there, and having children with us would be more suitable. I was told over the phone this would not be possible as they only open the upstairs part when busy.... Now even i can tell you that any restaurant on a Saturday night is going to be busy, and i don't even work in a restaurant. I just had to settle for what they h ...

Recently we made our second (successful) attempt to go to Akbars Indian restaurant in Bradford. The first time, we'd gone on a spur-of-the-moment on a Friday and learned to our dismay that this restaurant is clearly good - we couldn;t open the door to get in as there were so many people in reception!A few weeks later, we decided to make use of their takeaway service. We phoned through and ordered, and we told it would be about 30 mins.Thirty mins later we made our way there and after about fiftee ...
