Found this website trying to find out HDN's telephone number! What a surprise - to complain. We ordered 3 parcels, 2 were delivered on Monday. I checked hdn's tracking & 1 had returned to the depot. Apparently tried to deliver Tuesday, but failed. I rang John Lewis on Wednesday to be told that it would be delivered that day. I explained that the delivery address is the only address on the road and it was quite safe to leave the parcel (as the others had been left on Monday) on the door step,as we had a funeral to attend that afternoon. (Our property is half a mile to nearest house so quite safe to leave and secure as the driver has to go through automatic gates to get into our road - which he managed to do on Monday!!) No parcel arrived Wednesday. I rang John Lewis again this morning to be told that it would definitely be delivered today. But, alas at 7pm, the parcel still hadn't arrived. Rang JL again to query non-delivery. They spoke to hdn whilst I was waiting on the fone to be told that they couldn't deliver. They had been advised to call us if the gate wouldn't open, but no call was received. What I find hard to believe is that 2 of the parcels were delivered on Monday (the third was obviously left on the van), the driver having no trouble to get through the gates. And subsequent attempts have failed or more likely not even attempted. JL were told by hdn that their drivers do not have phones on them. Well they must be the only courier not to. We deal with many courier companies, based all over Europe, and never have problems with items being delivered. I await with trepidation for Monday, as they are meant to be delivering the final item them, but I wont hold my breath!

Truly awful, the most unreliable courier I have ever had the misfortune to deal with and from the rest of these reviews it seems I am not alone. Two "attempts" at delivery by the Irvine depot, while neighbours were in all day to take delivery, and I was at home myself when their tracking system says they tried the first time. Didn't even leave a card on the either of the first 2 attempts showing on their online system. Don't buy anything from companies who use this courier, then maybe they will ...- Read Guest's review (94 words)

Home Delivery Network Limited (HDNL) only deliver Mon - Fri when most people are at work! I missed a parcel delivery and rearranged delivery online because I won't pay for 0871 phonecalls when I get 01 & 02 call included with my broadband package. I left a note on the door asking for delivery to my next door neighbour who works from home. Upon return I found another note saying that no-one was in at my neighbour's house. I checked with the neighbour and she had been in all day! This is not ...- Read Guest's review (150 words)

I've had the missfortune of being involved with the home delivery network teice now. Neither experience was good. They either dont turn up or dont bother following delivery instructions in favour of writing out their little card and posing it in your letter box. I arranged for re-delivery and it didnt arrive. I phoned the "help line" and was told -"Yeah, the systems not working, the parcel wasn't sent out on the van today". My wife waited in all day. AGAIN. His reply to my anger was "its not our ...- Read Guest's review (116 words)

Tracking site said parcel on van on Monday 16th - did not arrive - rang call centre - they said be back on van for 17th - did not arrive - rang again - I said I would pick it up from Nottingham depot - got there - parcel gone out on van - I said I would come back next day - got there - parcel gone out on van (bearing in mind that this driver is supposedly trying to deliver this parcel too - failed 4 days on the trot - but I never ever received a card to say that he had tried.) I've used this service via Parcel2Go.com and it was excellent value for money - £6.49! The service was classed as three day delivery and was delivered next day! Can't say fairer than that? Would recommend and use again.- Read Guest's review (39 words)

I booked two collections with HDNL through P2G.
One parcel was not collected for three days, so P2G had to rebook it through another courier in the end.
The other parcel was collected on time. I had put the label (printed off online) in a clear plastic bag attached to the parcel. I added a letter to my friend and some chocolate for her in the bag, behind the label.
The label was perfectly scannable (I saw the pickup courier scan the barcode with no problems), so there would be no reason for ...- Read Guest's review (156 words)

After ordering an item on Amazon I waited all day for my parcel to be delivered by HDNL. At 17:00 that day I contacted HDNL too ask were it was any they said it would be there by 19:00. It wasnt and after many more phone calls the day after I found that the driver had been caught thieving a few days later and had possibly taken my parcel. This was a month ago and and I am still waiting for a refund or a replacement item. They are an awful company and I will never use them again.- Read Guest's review (97 words)

Honestly we ordered delivery through another website and missed the delivery. We asked to have the item re-sent for the following Monday and confirmed it but the browser crashed. We confirmed the order online again just incase.
Monday comes, nothing delivered. So we've gone online and set it to be redelivered the following Thursday which has yet to come.
I would like to comment that even when asking to have the item re-delivered there is no option as to the time is will be delivered. ...- Read Guest's review (85 words)

Absolutely useless. I would avoid ordering from any supplier who uses them. I placed an order with Charles Tyrwhitt Shirts. HDN delivered it to the wrong street, leaving a card through someone else's door. They then tried to come and collect the package from my house instead of the one they had incorrectly delivered it to. I did eventually receive the package a few days later, having spent a lot of time trying to track it down.- Read Guest's review (77 words)

Rubbish- Got a card through the door saying I can either have it redelivered in the next four days or go and pick it up from East Kilbride which is miles away. I'm not in for the next few days.
There are no other options on the website and only an automated number that you can call which keeps cutting off every time I manage to get transferred to an advisor.- Read Guest's review (71 words)

I've been waiting 5 days for my parcel from play.com now. I don't know when or why play has started using HDNL but im not happy because my parcel has been sat in Droitwich for the last 4 days & I live a 4 hour drive away in Cumbria. Does anyone know if they will send it straight from there? or is it likely they are going to play pass the parcel between the depots?- Read Guest's review (72 words)

absolutely hopeless!
ordered some items from amazon, kept an eye on them from hdnl's tracking system and they just seemed to be going out on the van then being returned to the depot everyday for a week, they phoned up after 2 weeks and told me they couldn't find my road, what they were on about i dont know, its one of the main roads through my town (hursley road, chandlers ford). so they told me i had to go and collect it from there depot in portsmouth. i told them to send the stuff back to ama ...- Read Guest's review (103 words)

Pure incompetence with inaudible knocks.
So I ordered a PC Case off amazon on sunday and was told it would arrive on wedsnesday. Surprisingly I decided to track my parcel this morning and saw it was "In transit" for my house as of 9.15 am. So I decided to wait, unfortunately I have lectures which I can't afford to miss so I left for my lecture at 12-1pm. Sods law they come during the hour I'm not there. But there were still 6 other people in the house 5 of whom have bedrooms at the front of the ...- Read Guest's review (174 words)

After having read some of the other reviews I am at least pleased to see I am not the only one unhappy with HDNL.
I ordered some furniture and clothes from Asda. Two days after the order was placed the clothes were delvered by Royal Mail (great service considering the strikes). Nothing from HDNL even though when the order was placed Asda informed me the delivery company would be in touch the next day to arrange a date/ time.
Finally started getting missed calls, all be it from an unknown numbe ...- Read Guest's review (406 words)

I have tried on 4 occasions to have a book delivered to my home or office address without success. MYHDNL have not adhered to my instructions, have not tried to deliver to one of my two neighbours as organised/requested, have tried to deliver to the wrong address and even a supervisor has not been able to resolve this problem. I am totally fed up and angry that I can only be offered a delivery time of between 7.00 am to 7.00pm !!!! My office is open between 8.00am and 5.30pm but still they ref ...- Read Guest's review (103 words)
