Virgin Media sent me a Super Hub via HDNL (HDN-Hell should be their name) it was supposed to arrive Tuesday 7th May between 10AM-2PM. It didn't arrive within that time-frame, so I had to wait in until 9 o'clock in the evening. I hardly know where to begin with this company. How could anyone with an iota of self-respect work for those clowns? The group of people which are brainless , I bought something on Internet and chosen next day delivery, they have been delivery to the wrong address twice and third time left a voice mail on my phone with a blocked number, said "your delivery is here" and there is no one there, its ridiculous, we are retail shop on the high street, they just can't find it. It feels like HDNL have been ganged up on here! The internet is all well and good as a place for people to spout off when something goes wrong, but do they ever come on here and say when they have done something right? Well, at least my Amazon parcel was delivered on time to the right house.... It's just a shame that they hid it somewhere out in the rain without leaving a note. As a consequence it was sat outside for three days, and it was only after several phonecalls to HDNL that we ascertained where it was hidden... it was like hunting for Easter eggs. Terrible, 3 attempts to deliver a micro sd-card, 1st time they left a card, umm what about putting this small packet in my post box, the 2nd time they could not get in (my wife was at home, oh and the 1st time they got in the flats), then after two calls to amazon I was promised that the driver would call when they got to the flats, so I can tell them how to open the door and put the item in my post box. HDNL has never delivered the good I ordered on the internet on time. They have always missed the next-day delivery schedule. Very often they have delivered 2-3 days after the scheduled delivery date. I can't understand how online retailer such as Amazon can use this company. Maybe because it is cheaper than others and they want to save on what they should value most, i.e. customer satisfaction? this company is nothing but a joke ordered something for next day delivery website said it was at the Gloucester Depot at 04.48 then at 12.09 they posted that my parcel was at the wrong depot and has been loaded onto a van. I am not kidding I have NEVER had a delivery from HDNL arrive on the day it is supposed to. NOT ONCE. Why on earth do Amazon insist on using them?? I'm so tired of having to get a refund for my postage...its not the money I care about its getting my goods on time, I hate waiting...and they just never ever manage it. HDNL seem to miss the vital components of being a delivery company - firstly, to actually deliver parcels, and secondly to knock on the right doors Ordered from Amazon on 30th December, parcel dispatched using HDNL and apparently delivered on 2nd January at 6pm - trouble being, I was at home but nobody tried to deliver a parcel!! TV left the warehouse on Monday 18 February by HDNL. It took until Thursday to reach Inverness where it is still lying for delivery to Fort William. There seems to be no way of 'phoning to chase it up. On the same order was a Humax sset top box. That came by Yodel in 2 days. That drive stated that he cannot deliver anything that weighs over 30 Kg. so other carriers are brought in. (read more)

Waited in all day for a delivery with Amazon joke "guaranteed delivery". Tracking said parcel sat at the local delivery HDNL depot since 7:45am this morning. Tracking recently said out for delivery and then 1 second later delivered. WOW fast vans or complete lies. My money is on the latter.... The item has not been delivered. I followed my parcel being tracked all day, and seeing it was "on the van and out for delivery" I was optimistic. However, 6:30 pm came around and suddenly the status had changed to "delivery attempted, unable to gain access to the property", which is absolute rubbish. I have been in the front room all day, and live on a main road, no card has been left and no delivery attempt was made. I really sympathise with you. We are in a similar situation having waited in all of today for a 'guaranteed' delivery from Amazon.
Speaking with the Amazon customer services staff elicited the fact that a) they know HDNL have been much complained of but b) they have no option but to use them. This means of course that any complaint is pretty much toothless. Even sadder it means we have to consider not buying from Amazon...

Why Amazon persist in using HDNL I just don't know. I've had terrible problems in the past with them, but just recently ordered 4 items which were combined for delivery. According to HDNL they left their Middleton depot at 7.23am on 3rb January and were delivered in Stockport at 7.24am - pretty swift, huh? Except they didn't. Just signed the petition for Amazon to stop using HDNL/ Yodel. We have spent TWO days waiting for a Yodel/ HDNL delivery which has failed to materialise. The poor Amazon customer service staff in the Phiilippines are NOT allowed to disclose their UK managers' name who is taking profit despite HDNL/Yodel failure. This company dropped two packages on ground outside front door, sometime 22 Dec 2012. No postcard through door, and no SMS to phone. Found the packages by luck on morning of 23rd, covered in slugs. We'd returned late afternoon on 22nd so was dark, and didn't see parcels. Luckily, they were well packed in plastic so even though heavy rain recently, no damage done. This time. These people are jokes. They don't give a flying cuss if the customer complains or receives a shoddy service. Companies such as Amazon and Littlewoods need to vote with their feet and not with their pockets and ditch both HDNL and Yodel and move over to UPS or CityLink which costs about 50p more, but does leave expensive items on doorsteps, under cars, behind or in bins or any other place their drivers deem "safe". I specifically decided to try amazon prime for the delivery of the radiator as our house is having heating problems and part of it is freezing cold. I took a day off work to receive said order and after tracking it all day so that I could run some errands, by 9pm it still had not arrived. In every dealing we have ever had with HDNL they have neither delivered, left a note or contacted us. "Sorry you weren't in" or "Our computers are down" tend to be the usual reason offered when we ring to complain. I don't mind them being totally inept; getting paid to do something that you never do is not a totally stupid business model. I just fail to understand why other reputable companies would wish to tarnish their own reputation by association. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone... (read more)

Amazon dispatched my new laptop in super quick time. However my "expidited " delivery isn't even recognised on Home Delivery's tracking system more than 48 hours later. Amazon e-mailed an apology saying delivery will be delayed. Very good as it's not their fault other then trusting delivery to such a poorly rated company. If they bother to deliver in the next few days I'm not likely to be in. So I'll have the hassle of arranging another delivery. I do wish Amazon always used the better... (read more)

I ordered a laptop off Amazon, it was dispatched yesterday with a delivery estimate of today. I had not heard of HDNL before, so checked them out here and just assumed not to trust the tracking information and to expect a lengthy wait. Turns out, everything was fine, it was delivered to my door in good condition, within a few hours of leaving the depot in Gatwick (I'm in Brighton). Not denying anyone else's experience, just wanted to reassure people they aren't consistently useless! (read more)

worst delivery company in the history of man. they left my delivery at my doorstep and then covered it with a piece of wood from a skip across the street. had my neighbor not seen half my door covered by a piece wood and investigated, i probably would have lost my item. would not recommend them to collect my dog's excrement
