Whenever the clothiers go through a wash I would always wsh them again....there is scum on every wash, I've cleaned the drum several times and am getting fed up! My last hotpoint Aquarius had no such issues. Is it just mine or do others have the me problem, is there a way I can resolve it?… Read Full Review

I've had this machine for 3 years. I have 3 children so it does get hammered however I don't feel that this is any excuse for the mould growing around the drum and seal and the scum on the inside of the drum that goes all over the clean clothes!!! The mould appeared after just a few months and is impossible to get rid of. Hotpoint and Indesit refuse to acknowledge that there is a problem but so many people complaining of the same things means that there must be. I owned a Hotpoint 15 years ago… Read Full Review

Have had this machine for at least 5 years. Constant problems with mould in the draw and on seal have to regularly bleach draw. Tried using different types of detergent powder/liquids, in the draw and in the drum. Run regular 90 degrees wash, but doesn't help. Have to use 'thin, runny' fabric conditioner as otherwise it doesn't clear from draw and clogs up. VERY noisy when spinning, have to shut the kitchen door as so loud. On and off leaking. RUBBISH. I keep waiting for it to break down… Read Full Review

i have had my machine for nearly two years, and i see more of the engineer than i do of my husband, it leaked for six months, i have had at least three new mother boards, the draw builds up mildew and the smell if i dont run a boil wash evry month is awful. I have become a dab hand at hand washing and with a husband and three kids thats not fun. Waiting for teh engineer yet again to replace yet another mother board. the only things i do like are the wash size and the child lock. I have had… Read Full Review

Same as many people, keep getting mildew buildup despite regular cleaning and bleaching, have not had bearing problems yet but sure it will come. No filter is not a good idea and will not buy hotpoint again - dissapointed!… Read Full Review

Very unreliable washing machine, broke down three times in the first year. The whole machine was then replaced and now the second machine has failed after 18 months an electrical fault...would not recommend.
My previous Hotpoint lasted 12 years with out problem, now I don't think they are made to last… Read Full Review

I great machine use it every day almost and put in it large washes. You can easily fit a summer weight feather quilt. Like the easy to use buttons and silent wash mode ok when it spins it makes more noise but still bye far the best machine I have used. There is no filter to empty and regular cleaning cycles because if low washing temp a must. Would def recommend… Read Full Review

A washing machine is supposed to get your clothes clean - right? This one doesn't, it just doesn't. Tried changing washing powder/liquid, doubling up the dose, putting powder/liquid in the dispenser, in the drum, both in the drum and dispenser, washing it through again, putting it on different washes, even a boil wash and they still don't come clean. It is nice and quiet, but to be honest, that's the only plus. I've read other reviews, and I've got mildew as well. Plus there's a funny… Read Full Review

Always thought that Hotpoint were reliable machines - this model Ultima WT960 is the worst we have ever owned. No problem with mildew (we clean the machine!!) but parts failed and to make matters worse Repair Care have been unable to get machine working after 3 visits and five weeks!! Bosch or Miele (expensive but reliableare now my target. Goodby Hotpoint (should be rebranded "Whatsthepoint"… Read Full Review

Same problem as many other reviews - over timeup of build up of mildew and marking clothes - had an "old fashioned" engineer out to look at it - told me its a common problem due to all washes being on 40 or below - told me to clean it with a bit of bleach and run a few boil washes - he was right it worked - now back to normal and he didnt charge me a penny for the advice… Read Full Review

This is a great washing machine, very quiet. I chose the 8kg size because I hate to waste water, soap powder and electricity on a small wash, when you can wash a much bigger pile of clothes using the same amounts. I wanted to see what 8kg of washing looked like, and I discovered that 8kg of washing is huge.
To weigh your washing, stand on a weighing machine, weigh yourself, then pick up the bundle of clothes to be washed, and see what the difference is. I was worried I might overload it as it… Read Full Review

Excellent machine - when it works. Door catch now broken for the 3rd time and bearings went after 18 months. Currently spent £80 at laundrette during breakdown periods. The engineers when called are excellent and have fixed machine under extended warranty. Have decided this machine is jinxed and l am ditching it for a new one - not a Hotpoint!!. Have also had mould problem around door and soap dispenser as stated in other posts… Read Full Review

We have had the machine just over 2 yrs and have the same problem of mildew buildup aroung the seal and in the detergent drawer. Hotpoint helpine have change number and we no go through to INDESIT who have said problem not covered in 5yr parts an labour warranty would have to pay £99 for labour and they would provide free seal - sooo nice of them. They had audacity to blame mildew buildup my use of liquid gel detergents (and liquid tabs) and have said there is nothing that can be done about… Read Full Review

The Hotpoint Ultima WT960 is an excellent machine. Recommend it to any friend looking for machine - a number have bought and are just as thrilled as me.
Previous machines (more than one house!) include Hoover (various), AEG, Bosch, LG but this beats them all. Hands down. In all departments.
