    Good Points: Good selection of tools, especially the turbo brush used for pet hairs,Also quite light weight


    Bad Points: CONSTANTLY TIPPING / FALLING OVERHose too short


    General comments: If you value your furniture or interior decor..DO NOT BUY this Hoover DM4494.I have only had this maching one week, and I am buying an alternative

    This Hoover DM4494 was our first bagless cleaner, but what a disappointment. It clogs up very easily and then has a tendency to overheat. This means a frustrating wait for it to cool down before it will turn on again. In fact we did wonder if our particular machine was faulty, but apparenthly not! Also, when using the tools it has a tendency to overbalance, although we have to say that the hose and cord lengths are very good. Do not buy this cleaner - go for a Panasonic instead.

    This Hoover DM4494 is not practically designed for regular housework around a house of any size, though it might do for a small flat. The change-over from carpet to tool mode is awkward and involves a lot of bending. The motor seems to run very warm and when it cuts out through extended running time it ineeds to cool for half and hour. Combined with the bad points mentioned above, this is not a cleaner I would recommend.

    we bought our first bagless vacuum as a Hoover DM4494 thinking it would be good. how wrong we were.you have to clean the filters every time or they clog up and nothing gets picked up.within a year we have replaced filters, belt and WHEELS! we are going back to a simple panasonic bag type which gave us hassle free use.
