“Awfull customer service”

Written on: 07/02/2016 by Lawsondf257 (1 review written)

Went to to the Ashby Leicester centre found them particulary unhelpfull. Took ages to find an assistant to help me when i did they seemed unfriendly.Plus they didnt have what i wanted anyway. Later on in my visit i managed to find all the staff! They were all gathered and appeared to be spending more time discussing customers than actually helping the ones that needed help. Gave me a particular poor reflection of the customer service in this garden centre. Wont visit again! The size of the… Read Full Review

“Check out Staffing”

Written on: 13/01/2016 by BrooklynSampson (1 review written)

Review relates to Shelley Garden Centre. Both Cafe and Garden Centre Check outs need more staff. Queue's at both unacceptable. There are plenty of staff walking around, don't appear to be that busy, that could step in to take payment. But seem reluctant to do so. One person on till in Cafe at Breakfast time, when busy, leads to Queue's by the time you pay for your hot drink it is half cold. Same applies in Garden Centre. Staffing tills needs much better management. Good Garden Centre plenty… Read Full Review

Had a lovely lunch at the Woodlands. All the staff were very polite & went out of their to help my wife and myself who are both disabled. The service was second to none & also the service we got is very hard to come by nowadays… Read Full Review

“Excellent Restaurant Service”

Written on: 05/01/2016

I booked a table for 11 for lunch after Christmas so my mother, who is nearly 95 and living in a care home could come out and see all the family as her Christmas lunch. When we arrived the table was all set up with napkins and table cloths. We were under pressure time wise as one of my sons had to return to work. The staff were very efficient and everything went very well. The food was excellent and my mother enjoyed seeing all her family. The only thing that could have made it better was a… Read Full Review

“Will not be visiting Gardenland Bridgenorth Road again.”

Written on: 22/12/2015 by Ladylue (1 review written)

Have been a regular visiter to Gardenland for 18 years and seen many changes. However, we took our 9 year old granddaughter today. It was colder in the shop than it was outside, large areas of the shop floor were empty. We were told we could not buy hot food until 12 o'clock. we walked around almost empty spaces for 20 minutes and ordered a toasted sandwich,2 bowls of chips, 1 coffee and a soft drink costing a total of £13.45. 2 very small bowls of chips and a tasteless sandwich that was… Read Full Review

“Down Right Stupid!”

Written on: 24/11/2015 by thgriffiths (4 reviews written)

Went to pay for our food at the café counter in Findon. My wife said TWICE 'wait a minute while I find my gardening club card' Stupid girl ignored my wife and rang up the till without scanning our club card - or even asking if we had a gardening club card which is obligatory. I told her we had said to wait twice but the pathetic reply was that she didn't hear us!!! Her somewhat ignorant colleague next to her said that we could ring the number on the back of our card and they will put the… Read Full Review

“Regular visitor to Landford Garden Centre over many...”

Written on: 19/11/2015 by McCormackib196 (1 review written)

Regular visitor to Landford Garden Centre over many years. Many of the changes since Wyevale took over are ok. Just had a super afternoon tea party to celebrate an 80th birthday in your restaurant. The refurbishment has made it lighter but I do not particularly like the new décor or furniture. The main complaint would be the sloping floor which I consider dangerous for anyone - it is unacceptable. Many of your regulars are of a certain age. There will be an accident if it isn't dealt with… Read Full Review

“All cloned and boring”

Written on: 11/11/2015 by Jaysonw134 (1 review written)

Every decent independent garden centre has been ruined by Wyevale Group as they are all now a clone of each other. The restaurants have limited choice, as has everything else. When the garden centres were independent they were far superior. I now avoid Wyevale centres like the plague… Read Full Review

“Well past their sell by date!”

Written on: 23/10/2015 by Braidman (5 reviews written)

Called into the Haresfield branch as I was passing, there were some plants for sale half price, they were a disgrace, should have been dumped a long time ago instead of kept on sale! It does the companies image no good with plants like these, someone should take the decision when the plants are still saleable to put a 10 pence price ticket on them, then a customer would get a bargain and the company would get some kudos instead of brickbats! Though doubt it will happen as companies never… Read Full Review

“wyevale have ruined what was a lovely garden centre”

Written on: 15/10/2015

Rubbish displays, bad lighting cheap and nasty gifts, too much packed into a small space. I could go on!! Wyevale have taken over three wonderful garden centres in our area and absolutely ruined them all, what were lovely individual stores are now all the same. Won't be visiting any of them again… Read Full Review

“Terrible”

Written on: 07/10/2015

My local garden centre was called Golden Acres and has now become one of the Wyevale chain. A few weeks ago my son and I popped in to have a look for some plants and a spot of lunch. I used to take my elderly mum there for lunch on a regular basis when she was alive. The plants on this visit were extortionately priced to say the least so I left that part of the plan and went on to lunch. It was after 2p.m. and we were informed that there was only shepherd's pie left. We had the shepherd's… Read Full Review

“poor quality of staff”

shopped at wyevale wellington. checkout staff were busy talking and in no hurry to serve us. we asked which sort of compost to buy, and though one member of staff showed us a catalogue she was not at all interested in our request and was quite short.when we left the two assistants were shouting across to each other about the x factor! i wouldn't employ them, but they should at least be trained in customer service which was sadly lacking… Read Full Review

“A changing for the sake of it”

Written on: 23/09/2015 by colbarb (1 review written)

What a pity that the excellent bits of privately owned nurseries are totally lost when bought out by Wyevale. Yes Wyevale have an excellent range of products but the soul and feel of their nurseries are sterile and clinical and browsing is a thing of the past. The Garden Centre at Cadnam is well stocked but there is no incentive to browse and the entising quirky things are no longer available......the Coffee Shop does an excellent trade. … Read Full Review

“No improvement here!”

Written on: 21/09/2015

I visited the wyevale garden centre today and instead of enjoying a pleasant hour browsing the site and enjoying a light lunch as is my normal routine I was shocked to have to endure a non stop barrage of screams, squeals and shouts from the new "attraction". Who on earth thought it was a good idea to install a noisy kindergarten in the middle of what was an oasis of calm. God only knows what it would be like at a weekend or in the school holidays. I cancelled my lunch plans as I didn't want to… Read Full Review

“New look for EDorset gdn centres”

Written on: 05/09/2015

Since March, our EDorset garden centres, have all 3 been eaten up by The Wyevale Garden Group. We love the new look to the 3 centres near to us, and we also love the food in one of them!(not mentioning the other two) West Parley has a quiet not isolated sitting area outside, from the rest of the plants, u can sit under a verandah,or in a sunny corner with a brolly as shade, in winter, there r heaters available. A wonderful quiet place to meet friends or family, summer sunny spot, today I noticed… Read Full Review

“wyevale chirk”

Written on: 23/08/2015 by Goodegn99 (1 review written)

since being taken over by wyevale this garden centre has gone from excellent to zero. The prices of the plants is extortionate. Yesterday when we visited, a lot of the plants looked past their sell-by date but were still expensive. It used to be a very busy place but now there is hardly any customers. The breakfast we had was acceptable but the drinks are far too high. £2.00 for a small bottle of 7 up for my grandson. I can get 2 litres for a £1 in the supermarket. This outlet now seems to… Read Full Review

“Beautiful decor, good service, food average in...”

Written on: 27/07/2015 by Lacesally (1 review written)

We recently had lunch in the newly upgraded cafe in Wyevale Woodbridge. Surprised at how empty it was compared to how busy it had been before changes. Immediate impression of decor was excellent, much better use of space, bright, clean and attractive. But layout of service area confusing nowhere to queue. Served quickly because few people there. Do not like the high tech numbering system. Food arrived fairly quickly, but was bland and not well presented. I agree with others who say… Read Full Review

“A local, convenient and good value garden centre”

Written on: 24/07/2015 by Lunav394 (1 review written)

I frequently visit the Crawley Wyevale as it has everything I need in the way of plants, seeds, tools, pots, lighting etc... for my garden and home. Staff and leaflets provide good ideas, tips and advice for problems, changes and improvements. Yesterday when purchasing new secateurs and a greetings card customers in front of me at the checkout had a query which was taking some time to resolve. At many other retail stores I would simply have had to wait but the thoughtful assistant at Wyevale… Read Full Review
