Good Points: explain all options to you, no hidden agendas

    Bad Points: none so far

General comments: i entered into an iva with debt free direct in 2005, my debt was £42000, Debt Free Direct explained all the options at the time, over the past 4 years ive found then helpful when making the odd phone call to them for advise, traceman 1/7/09

I was made redundant in march resulting in my iva failing and was told Debt Free Direct would act on my behalf on bankruptcy, but didnt tell me I had to have the sufficient funds in there to do so, and they just fobbed me off by saying that i should have read the agreement properly which i did but theres nothing in there to state how much funds you need or that you need the funds anyway.

They had all of the details of the other clients on them, who they owed money to, how much, their address, date of birth, everything...
Once you're in it's really difficult to keep going but we're in our 12th month of 60 now, so doing our best. They leave you with as little money as possible each month and are v ...

They have been extrelmley helpful to me and I have money left over for myself each month. I really could not have managed this without them. I'm getting very few creditor calls now as they deal with it all for you. The only thing you must do is make sure you send all letters etc you receive promtly to them. Best thing I ever did was to get in contact with them, I sleep at night now!

On the second telephone interview they made me feel really bad about myself for getting in to this situation and that they were going to take every penny we earned into the iva, leaving us with £5 a week spare cash, when I questioned it they asked why did I want more. Came off the phone crying and desperate for help.
Keep away from them they leave you with no extra money to live on. I rung a couple more just out of interest and got my payments a lot lower, so don't go with the first one r ...
