Once settled (mine took a year after final payment April 2013), if you think it's over and you're in a hurry to amend your records after you're final payment, it isn't. After 5 years problem free paying off an IVA with DFD I am extremely disappointed with their lack of communication and the long and drawn out process in trying to obtain my completion certificate. My final payment went through in June 2012 at which point I was advised I'd have my certificate within '2-3 months', on chasing after that time I waited a month for a response to be told there were PPI issues (I had filled in PPI related forms and returned them months beforehand). took out an iva in 2006, every payment was made on time, although half way through they changed the date, so my payment arrived one day later than it should, so for that my iva was increased by another month. Paid my last payment in December of 2011, still waiting for my certificate, tried ringing, keep you on hold for about 20 minutes, then say they are too busy, so try later!!! I can only agree with this comment. I made my last payment in February 2012 and was told in May I would get my certificate in 8 weeks and here we are in Jan 2013 after another very frustrating phone call. They are a company to be avoided at all costs.

My final IVA payment was taken in June 2012, I've chased and chased and waited weeks for a response from DFD each time. First excuse was something about PPI reclaiming, second excuse was a VAT issue, I'm now told it will be March before I hear anything further yet when I enquired with them at the time of my final payment I was told my completion would take '2 to 3 months'. Very very frustrating given that it's such an achievement when you make your final payment after those 5 years struggling, all you want is that completion certificate to start moving on and clearing your name. Extremely disappointed in DFD - had no problems throughout my IVA so really didn't expect this long drawn out process at the end. Not happy and also very worrying to hear others are going through the same thing.

I have been with DFD for 2 years in an IVA. Thay are ok but a real pain to get hold of by phone. Especially on premium rate numbers which are extra on my phone bill.!! When I had my initial chat i was told i could pay £170 a month but after everything was sorted this soon rose to well over double that. How convenient!!! You are left to live on peanuts in an IVA. Having signed us up for an IVA on the basis that they were helping us it rapidly became evident that DFD are not in any way shape or from interested in their clients. Their primary motive is to wring every last penny from you to increase their fee. Our IVA ended up lasting over 6 years. We entered into our IVA in 2005. Great at first.Even when we couldn't pay the high amount they set us each month they extended the term of the IVA. We have paid the final payment(at last)in April. In November 2011 a pack and a covering letter from DFD was sent to us with details advising us to claim PPI from Equity in finance. Having spent 5 years clearing our debts through an IVA with DFD they have still not issued our Completion Certificate 15 months after our last payment. On contacting DFD their excuse is VAT issues that we do not believe is our problem. They are preventing us from remortgaging for a lower interest rate. The CAB have informed us that the Insolvency guidelines are that the draft papers should be raised within 28 days of the last payment and the completion certificate issued within 1 - 3 months.... I entered into an IVA and paid ALL monthly payments then to be told as there wasn't enough equity in my home I would have to pay an extra year, which I did, then to be told they need to check any potential PPI. This has been done and over a month ago the PPI company closed the account off as there wasn't any to claim back. DFD still haven't updated their system so no closure in sight, It is 7 years in August since I started dealing with this comapny and at the very start they told me to LIE about how I got into financial difficulty because if I told the truth on the forms (which was the banks wouldn't help me when I was made redundant and divorced all within the space of 4 months) they wouldn't approve my IVA!!!!! I have told them that I am seeking legal advice as to being mis sold this product!!! They didn't even offer me any other alternative to an IVA. I have complied with EVERYTHING they have asked and now they have had the money they would appear to of become incompetent.
