Good Points: I am a complete fan of BSY! The list of courses are comprehensive, ranging from complementary medicine, general interests, skills ( public speaking, teaching English as a Foreign language etc) psychic development etc etc.I think distance learning ,while it takes such a lot of motivation, and discipline, is a great tool for getting back into education. As far as I know many people have been able to use their BSY quals to set up their own business, get a relevant job- so they are indeed relevant for today's job market..... there are a number of testimonials on the website, and I know too, that I have been able to make use of these qualifications with my own job and hobbies and interests.....

Bad Points: As the last reviewer said, sometimes you can't find the answer in the books! Then you start to panic.... !

General comments: I have studied a number of BSY courses over the years: First Aid( theoretical) Physical Fitness(Diploma) Tantra( Diploma) Holitsic Fertility ( Diploma)Teaching English As a Foreign Language (Diploma), Sociology- all excellently written, with comprehensive tests and scope for researched detailed answers. With my Teaching English as Foreign Diploma( along with two other distance learning teaching qualifications) I was able to get exemption from the first year of my PGCE course( Post graduate Certificate of Education) at a British university ( distance learning). All the courses were very relevant to me, informative, well-paced, and you were able to do it in your own time. Of course, it was hard work! And the courses came in good stead when I did my afore-mentioned post-graduate distance learning course, due to the discipline, working by oneself and research etc.I was able to use the courses for elements of teaching dance ( Physical Fitness) and others for a better general awareness of the world. The sociology course for example provided a great complement for my interest in anthropology, and as I also write for dance magazines, i was able to impart much of the knowledge learned about culture, society, arts, health etcI felt I could move on, with these courses, feel a lot more versatile and confident, and look at applying for courses on the next level. Two for the price of one courses are also available: I am currently completing two writing courses (Article Writing and Creative Writing) which I am thoroughly enjoying, as the courses teaches practical useful skills, which you are able to develop in the form of tasksI feel it will enhance my writing skills and teaching writing skills ( I teach English for Speakers of Other languages at a further education college )- so I putting all of this into practice!Tantra was an invaluable look at a variety of yoga and a kind of spirituality/philosophy, and as I am interested in different cultures and spiritualities, it offered an excellent introductionto what it is,.. etc. The holistic Therapy course made me aware of what it takes to have a healthy and fertile reproductive system.I would definitely recommend the BSY group. I remember feeling apprehensive at first, but staff are friendly and supportive, the tutors are encouraging, in their marks. The tutors correct any mistakes and point you in the right direction. The paperwork is simple and easy to use, along with guidance on making the most of distance learning. Marking is prompt; you receive your work back within a week....what else can I say. It truly opened up my world, made me feel very excited about studying again ( after taking a break after completing a Master's).The courses are complete in themselves. The book designs are simple , with exam/test papers enclosed inside.Your answers can be as detailed as you would like- equivalents of short essays, or as simple as you like. The answers can be typed up or hand written.Payments can be done in instalments, which I think is a great feature!I think I will continue to use this group, and I have even used other distance learning groups, which offer other topics, since my experience has been so positive.

I'd recommend the BSY courses. As to the credibility of the Diplomas and letters after my name in the real world; I'll have to see.

I have studied with BSY (and still am) for many years and I would recommend the school unreservedly. I have three diplomas in sport injury/therapy/massage and am currently enrolled upon two more. BSY also does an occasional 2 for 1 offer on courses which I have used twice now.
