The Photograph as Contemporary Art is a handy introduction to the use of photography in contemporary art, introducing the reader to some important themes and issues. I use the term introduction as the book covers a lot, however as it's covering so much in such a small space, none of the artists, themes and movements are explored in any real depth. I found this book useful for getting started on my theory work, as it introduces you to key subjects that you can then explore further if you want to. It was also pretty up to date at the time I was studying and gave a real insight into the different approaches to photography within art.
