After saving a very lomg time for what I thought would be the perfect family holiday I have to say i was gutted at paying for two weeks and returning after one. I became ill because our caravan was so damp. I took a birthday cake down for my daughters birthday for the end of the first week. When i went to get it from the cupboard it had all collapsed and gone soft due to damp. I won't go on about all the bad points but I would never ever go there again it has never seen a five star site I... (read more)

Clean park and caravan, but lacking in things to do when the weather is poor. I chose it as it was small and I hoped wouldn't be the loud and in your face site. It wasn't. The pool could do with a good clean and the lockers don't provide a key you can hang on your wrist whilst you're in the pool. Where do they expect you to put it? The arcade is lacking in working machines and the evening entertainment needs a rethink, bingo every night with the mad hour until the 9.30 gets a bit tiresome... (read more)

Been there for the last 3 years,in october 2years ago,and we weny august last year. We have now booked for the october of this year, which is Halloween week, AND we know its going to be a great week.
EVERYONE THERE from the CLEANERS to the ENTERTAINMENT STAFF was ALL FRIENDLY. Karinda and the rest of the team were great. WHEN you have a place like this, who gives a thought about the weather. THE pirate play park aswell, all weather flooring. CARAVANS SPOTLESS,caravans 94 on the far side...

i have just returned from a week at sandymouth. it was the oct half term. and wow what a fab week all the staff went above and beyond for everyone. i heard through the grapevine while we were there that the previous year it was a family run park, but i think that you would never know it wasn't. the caravan was so clean and we had a wonderful welcome when we arrived. we were a little early and while we waited in the bar 2 lovely entertainer gave my kids things to do which was lovely. talking... You used to be able to hire bbq's and bikes but since the new company has taken over they are no longer available. Also, the condition of the caravans has deteriorated - taps leak, hot water is unrealiable, bed linen (including mattresses) and curtains are mouldy. One of the driers was out of order for the whole week we were there - why wasn't it fixed? The only good thing was the weather - we had the best week for years (the August bank holiday week)! Entertainment was poor, although the... (read more)

Just returned from a great holiday at Sandymouth. Very clean and friendly holiday park. Very reasonable prices and the food was great. Entertainment staff were lovely both my kids loved them. The only gripe I have is that the beds were not made in the caravan and when you have paid summer holiday prices I would expect them to be made and included in the price. Pool was excellent clean and actually nice and warm! which makes a change. I think this is probably the only holiday park I... (read more)

just returned after our 3rd stay at Sandymouth and we feel let down, the place now lacks that special appeal that it previously had prior to the take over. The caravans were clean but not gleaming where previously they would have been, the entertainment lacked imagination and our children were bored of the repetition every night. (read more)

We have just returned from our 5th stay at Sandymouth in the last 3 years, we are currently in the luxurious position of having 2 kids under school age so are able to go outside of the school holidays, the park is fantastic, very clean, landscaped gardens, brilliant bar/cafe area which is not to big but big enough to be able to be able to see the kids at all times. The pirate ship play area is fantastic, the staff as always are second to none, my only gripe this year is that 3 hire... (read more)

The kids enjoyed the pool, and loved the pirate ship in the play area. there were no negatives about this place (sorry) will definately recommend this site xxxx (read more)

This is the first holiday park we have ever stayed at where everything was absolutely faultless. The accommodation (Siena static caravan) was totally spotless and modern, and felt like a home from home. The evening entertainment was also great for the kids, with the two hosts making a real effort to involve everyone without being overbearing. The food served in the cafe was all totally fresh (Even burgers were made freshly and locally sourced), and the outside playground for kids was all... (read more)

Our first time here at Sandymouth Bay, but we have booked again for the summer.Indeed we actually extended our stay on this occasion.
It isn't a big site but it is a very very good one. From the initial contact with the reception staff, everything is right. It is immaculately presented externally, as are the caravans both inside and out. Facilities are good, the entertainers work hard and all of the staff are invariably helpful and great with kids. There are no criticisms from us about...

me, my partner and 7yr old son stayed august 2009 for 7 days. We had a serviced tent pitch. The view was picturesk and the field was spacious and had plenty of room for children to play. The service from the staff was superb and the childrens entertainment was fantastic. The swimming pool and pirate ship kept out son entertained. The beach is perfect for children, it has rock pools and lots of sand. A large supermarket is not too far as is an indoor bowling/play centre.

i went to sandymouth in july this year with a friend and her family and were both 17. We found it highly enjoyable in every aspect. The entertainment and barstaff were very friendly in every way and made our holiday that bit extra special. Just returned back from a week in sandymouth holiday park over the october half term. We had an absoultly fantastic holiday, great value for money, excellent kids entertainment especially the halloween theme nights. All the staff looked fantastic in theie costumes which inturn encouraged the guests to dress up in halloween costume, the atmosphere was brillant.

We stayed at Sandymouth holiday park in September 2009, the first time we'd ever been on a caravan holiday so I didn't really know what to expect. From the time we arrived, to the time we left I was unable to think of any criticisms at all. The park was beautifully presented, clean with well-kept lawns and planted areas. The children's park was fantastic and catered for children of all ages, with a bouncy castle, ball pit for small children, mini golf and the most fantastic pirate ship which... (read more)

Our stay at Sandymouth was our first ever caravan park holiday and wow... did it ever give us the holiday park bug! It was AMAZINGLY CLEAN THROUGHOUT, you could literally eat your dinner off the floor in any area of the park (as my mum used to say!). The kids loved the brilliant Pirate Ship play area and the life size characters from Pirates of the Caribean and Sebastian and Flounder. The food was georgous on site (and my husband's a restaurant manager and it takes a lot to please him!)... (read more)

Sandymouth Bay Caravan Park is beautiful and is VERY clean, the playground and characters are FANTASTIC and the lodges are stunning, they have everything you need and very nicely decorated. even has a bbq and table to sit at and eat with a sea view!
So very impressed with this holiday park other companies should take a leaf out of their book.

We have just returned from a week at Sandymouth Bay holiday village in a six-berth caravan. I wanted to say how much the holiday was enjoyed by all the family (ages from 7 - 76). It far exceeded our expectations, largely due to the high quality of the facilities on site. This is a fantastic site and standards of cleanliness are very high: they have their own road sweeper, and even hoover the children's play area daily! There is so much to do for the children - ours loved spending all... (read more)

my family and i have been to Sandymouth quite a few times now, and we are all very pleased with it.
All the staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble for them, on one occassion i had to go to reception to report a fault with the hot water boiler, by the time i had walked back to my caravan the maintenance man was there waiting for me.
The site is exceptionally clean and tidy. i will continue going there hopefully for many years to come, i would certainly recommend this site to...

Difficult for us to compare as this is the first family caravan holiday we've had at one of these sorts of parks, but having said that we were extremely impressed with Sandymouth. Beautiful setting, immaculate site, fantastic caravan with everything we needed. The restaurant, swimming pool and play area were also really good. Overall very hard to fault and would certainly recommend and will probably visit again in the future. (read more)

Magnificent play park for the children, based around the "Pirates of the Caribbean" theme. Fantastic sea and coastal views. Great indoor swimming pool. British weather can be a gamble. Even then, there are plenty of activities under cover. Road travel to Cornwall from our location (Gosport) can be tiresome. Inexpensive good food and entertainment in the Club. Wonderfully helpful staff who are genuinely interested in your well being. Spotlessly clean, and very well maintained. This is... (read more)

What can I say everything on the park was great and the cleanness was second to none. It was nice to get your keys to your caravan and be able to go in and unpack without having to check and clean bathrooms and kitchens. Everything was so spotless, bedding everything all the facilities were also spotless and the management and staff and the owners were great. A great camp which looks to have had a great deal of money spent on it recently - we've stayed at a few camps in the southwest over the last 6 years and can honestly say that this is the best we've been to. My 3 sons made some great friends and were very sad to come home.
Plus the camps owner is always out and about and is a very cheery Cornish man!!
If you are considering a caravan or camping holiday to Cornwall, then I would recommend Sandymouth bay.

I found this review very helpful because... We have never been before as we have holidayes with John Fowlers, for the last 10 years and after last year at trelawne manor we will definately not be going again to any Fowlers parks, we know Karinda from years ago, and have only just caught up with her through Face book.
