Good Points: Addictive Pick-up-and-playability Multiplayer (a must)
Bad Points: Limited single player enjoyment
General comments: The original version of the Fusion Frenzy game is a much better offering than its successor. This version was by far the better game because it was new and different. It you ever played Smash TV it's very similar, a single fixed screen arena in which you, playing 1 of 6 characters plays against 3 opponents, either AI or better still friends.
The controls of the game are simple. They are often a combination of a thumb stick and a few buttons. The game itself comprises a competition in an area (bit like the crystal maze) within each area are a number of mini games, the aim is to win as many mini games in the area as you can and accrue more points that you opponents. The mini games range from button press combinations in the fastest time to dodging the falling balls and last man standing, driving, flying etc.
The limited enjoyment you can take from this in single player mode makes this a real party play favourite. Get some mates in and a few beers on the go and sling this on.
The game is a rare one. Often a find in the bottom of the bargain bin in your local games store or one hung high on the mantel of the store out of reach and not noticed. Its addictive, yes, but there are much better things to play unless you're in the market for some crazy short burst entertainment.
