Just bought one of these phones second hand - had one back in 1999. Got rid of my nokia N95 (too complicated) and decided to go back to basics! It does everything I want ...ie phone and text. Even today it is not too big or bulky
I seem to remember my previous model of this having a vibrate function ...unfortunately this one doesn't which is the one downside.
Otherwise pretty good.

Well the 3210 has had it's day. You really do not see a lot of people with it. BUT, it's GREAT for kids or a spare phone. I have this phone as a spare phone, and it is OK. Texts, calls and has an alarm.
Not great for business.

I am not interested in phones that do everything including showing videos, brushing the cat, cooking the tea and so on, all in one miniature package.
I bought this phone second hand through eBay for not much, paid a little more to unlock it, slipped in my Fresh network card and there you go. Some months I can spend as much as £5 on calls and texts but to compensate for that profligacy some months I don't need to use it at all. Fresh have a direct debit mandate and I get the confirming...

Very reliable phone, rugged, still looks as good as new even though I've had it 2+ years. I've had smaller/newer phones that cost me a small fortune and finished up going back to the 3210, as the keys are easier to read and use. I don't need any fancy little gimmicks, this phone works well for all I need it to do. (read more)

Nokia 3210 - It was my first nokia phone and I was very satisfied with its functions and ergonomics. I use the Nokia 3210 as a spare in case of emergencies now. When I got it, it was a well-made phone with a fair range of tones and the games weren't bad. I didn't have any problems with the signal and the battery was good too. Although it's looking a bit outdated now, it's a good phone to have as your first without great expense. I got the Nokia 3210 free from one of my family. I didn't mind that it was out of date by the time I got it (I had really old Alcatel at the time). It's reliable, it looks good, decent games, ringtone composer, picture messages, an excellent first phone. Looking at most of the new phones by Nokia, it seems they will never be able to top the success of the 3210. However, the reception on it did fail at the end of it's life. Nokia 3210 is, for me, the classic Nokia phone. Let's face it, what we REALLY use mobiles for are texts and calls, and this does the job better than any other in my opinion. Since this model, Nokias have only become more fiddly and full of useless features. Though I have to concede that the 3310 was fine, and a bit lighter.
It is a joy to use, with the classic Nokia interface and predictive text. Also, it has the best mobile game bar none: the original "Snake"!(which is in a different...

The Nokia 3210 was a breakthrough for Nokia and now a trademark in my opinion because since the 3210 Nokia phones in one way or another they have looked like the 3210, just getting smaller or wider thats all. The internal antenna was big for Nokia because there was no antenna sticking in your leg all the time while you was on the move. phones will always get better because of the 3210 and most phones in the future will be based on that one phone. I have finally got to get a new phone - but I don't really want to! My 3210 has served me well. It has been reliable, sturdy (despite the number of times I have dropped it over the years) and, at the time I got it, was very futuristic, and still does not look out of place today. Put it this way, I'm not ashamed to answer it in public! Even though this phone is quite old it is still very good and works very well. If you like ringtones you can get loads with the phone. A bad point is the weight, the phone is very heavy but pretty small. It hasn't got an ariel sticking out, which makes everything a lot easier. If you want a mobile phone because you want to phone and text people, not get involved in overly complex features that are just gizmos and mostly useless, then this is a good choice. Rubbish! You cannot blame your clumsiness on this phone. I believe the 3210 will be remembered as a classic - for it's styling, ease of use and sleekness. I'm going to make this short because not many people will agree with me. Why? Because everybody has one and no-one likes to be insulted.

Unfortunately, i have used many other phones (have you??) so i can compare it quite well.

Written on: 11/09/2001
You sound like someone who has been stung by the ownership experience of this phone or something. No, I don't disagree, well not totally. I own a 3210 (or at least before switching to an 8850). I agree with some of the points you have made, such as it being user-friendly, and having some good features. (maybe it's different in Australia, but) I have not had trouble with the reception, and generally, I think that the phone is a good size. The mind works in a strange way, but I know that due to the huge array of mobiles now that are barely bigger than packet of gum, the size of the 3210 is exaggerated. A few years back I had a 1610, and at the time it seemed like a good size. Now it looks like a house brick. I think the 3210 is an adequate size and comparing it with my 8850 at least I can press the desired key instead of also selecting all of the surrounding ones on my 88.

Hmm :/ don't know what smelly network you're on, but I do know that I'm on Vodafone and I very rarely get less than 4/4 bars. It looks a damn site better than a lot of present phones, let alone the phones that came out at the same time.

Bulky? Um, afraid not, it's very streamlined and it slips in and out of pockets very nicely.

You must have been getting desperate when you are putting down because it has a green screen; what kind of lame excuse is that? Loads of phones use green LEDs without complaining, if you hate them so much then go get some blue ones fitted or something.

4 way navigation isn't better, it's a matter of personal opinion, you prefer 4 way, that's really great, but I don't, I like up/down.
