Good Points: Harrison Ford's still tough. Some good action sequences. Felt like an Indie flick in places. I thought i was in for a good ole scary INDY ride for the first few minutes

Bad Points: Cgi,cgi, cgi,cgi,cgi,cgi.....sorry for the CGI overkill but thats how I saw it. Karen Allen's character felt as though it had no depth and way too cheesey. (I felt that she was the best Indy girl of all, but disappointed by her performance and script this time around)

General comments: Although I mentioned these few bad points. I did not dislike this movie. I can understand why Lucas took the Alien route as the Fifties was the start of the cold war. Just after Roswell and a lot of paranoia and bad B grade flying saucer movies made in this era. But it wasn't this point that made it feel corny for me. It was the start of the cgi scenes. Ewok style Tarzan swinging cgi that threw all the realistic presence out of this film. Building it up to a none climax at the end with the over the top alien cgi effect. As i said maybe he wanted this B grade look because of the 1950's style movies. If it was just a fun stand alone movie Lucas wanted to create in the fifties B grade style then he succeeded. I can understand why people enjoyed it.But on the standpoint of the other Indy flicks I think it fell short for me. I never felt any real threat, tension, danger or peril. (Previous movies had enemys that really put fear into the viewers.) Unfortunately blanchet and Russians as good as she is missed the mark. They made me laugh out of the cheesiness and slighty bored me a few times. The build up of mystical magic that made you feel astonished and amazed with wonderment also fell short. Maybe I was just spoiled by it's predecessors unlike the Lara Crofts. I still enjoy these timeless movies now.So to sum it up it didn't captivate me. But it did have the fifties look and felt solid in parts thanks to Fords and leboufs solid performances. So sit down with your popcorn make your own mind up and enjoy the Indy ride corny or not.

Overall this film was really good, i only gave it a 5 because it was too much. I would have been happy with a legendary diamond or something. Why did they have to spoil it by turning it sci-fi?

Like I said, for younger generations they now think our intrepid archiologist is an alien hunter and for us (I'm 29), we can always stretch the imagination but doing a tarzan or a sword fight between two jeeps with CGI background?.. I felt ill.

A film we've probably all been waiting for, and after 20 years it's finally here! - Although Harrison Ford is closer to a nursing home than he is running the London marathon he's still got the charm he had back in 1984 when "Indiana Jones & The Temple Of Doom" smashed it's way onto our screens, with it's unmissable plot to investigate a terrible plan in the catacombs of an ancient palace. "The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull" is worth every penny!- if not for it's 'slight' exaggeration at being an ...
