Went here looking for a car - at first I was impressed they are all very friendly. They tell you they would rather work for little and sell more, they want you to buy your next car there etc its all spiel. They can't wait to get you inside with a brew and then the hard sell begins . . . If you want price don't go in, ask outside. on going problems that started 6 months ago. i went into Rix motor company looking for an affordable estate car. they didnt have a car at the time but told me by the owner , Reginald Rix that he would find me one and call me back, the car they found me seemed to be ideal at the time, a few minor faults that they agreed to fix. a week later the car failed to start. it took them 4 weeks and 7 attempts to fix with no solution. some of the attempts where cover ups. for example fitting a larger... Bought a 5 series BMW (after being pressured on the day we went to visit) Cover off seat belt holder was broken and they took 2 DAYS to fix it. It also went back in because three warning lights kept coming on as soon as you put the key in the ignition. STILL does it after they had had the car in the garage for the third time!!! Your entitled to your opinion, i however an not one for negative comments unless justified. My experiance of RIX Motors was terrible. After putting a £250 REFUNDABLE deposist on a car that was described as stunning i drove 100miles to see it,excited at the prospect of seeing and driving away in the STUNNING car!!!! On inspection there were scratches all over it...no parcel shelf...no recent MOT.... far from perfect. Worst still the staff were intimidating and refused to refund my £250 refundable deposit...thats why i felt i had to comment on MY OWN EXPERIANCE!!!!

The web site sucks you in...... the used car stock looks good and the showroom respectable......but it is all an illusion.Trust me. The car was not as decribed.The salesman refused to return our refundable deposit untill we threatened legal action.Staff were intimidating in the extreme.If this review makes you think twice about this company then it has served its purpose. I bought a car from the Rix Motor Company Warrington with 50000 miles on the clock, I've only had it for a few months and it has started to blow exspensive looking blue smoke, the car cost me £7000 and as I'm retired due to ill health it's hard enough keeping up the HP payments on the car so a costly engine repair is out of the question, the three weeks warranty is just a joke but I guess I'm old enough to have known better, I wouldn't advise anyone to buy a car from this firm and thank... Found that the heaters stopped working, alarm stopped flashing and working upon locking and that was just over a month. the sales assistant hadnt a clue about anything or any teeth. I baought a car off this company back in July 2010.
Yes the sales guy was pushy, but that is his job. The negotiatted well and we reached an agreement. The agreement had parts they had to deliver and they did without fault.
The best thing was that they stuck to their word and delivered. The price ended up pretty good also and the car was driven away the same day.
I will go back and if they have the right car for me again I would not hesitae to buy from them again.

they are very keen in getting your custom and be prepared to come away with a car every time as they will make you a deal that you can not refuse.
I would recommend them and the advise I would give is to know your stuff and figures upfront so you don't need to complain as I read in another reviews...they are there after all to sell you a car.

They didn't really have anything I was interested in at the time but the sales man very forceably tried to sell me a Focus ST of which I was told the following:
Lie 1: remember a focus ST is about 225bhp
Salesman: Its great its 300bhp
Me: I didn't think they was that powerful.
Salesman: its been modified.
Me: No thanks, don't want anything modified, plus insurance will increase.
Salesman: insureance won't be that bad,...

I think i bought this Focus ST.

<br/>It had an upgraded turbo, intercooler and remap. I dyno'd it at 304BHP. I thought the lowing at the front made the car look really sporty and i believe the handling is much better like this.
<br/>And the nice salesman did have an RS and took me out in it. they were very similar speeds.
<br/>My insurance was only £120 a year more after declaring the mods.
<br/>Also if your looking at a ST, fuel economy shouldn't be what your thinking about. The salesman really knows his stuff explaining everything about the car.
<br/>I'm sure he wouldn't have said its as good as a diesel car for ecomony. Thats just petit saying the salesman said that.

Sold a car for £20k which is only worth around £14k! Sent out in dangerous condition with suspension fault, under-inflated tyres and loose handbrake. Car would have been MOT failure. Took it back twice but they said nothing wrong with it! Took it to BMW who checked it and said we should not be driving it! Been to 3 BMW dealers now for several faults! Gelling91... have you spoken to them?... Their cars are covered for a standard 30 days and you have an option to buy a warranty from them. I found that because I was reasonable with them when I had a problem, they were very reasonable with me in return. Many thanks for this post.. i visited them recently and found them very very pushy, to the point a bit intimidating.. the Audi I was after was nice, but posts like these from genuine people, give a great idea what a used car pitch is about.. Thank you once again - i for one steered clear of them.
