It never looks good if you see a DJ mixing with a mouse. That's why Faderfox have brought out the DX2. Designed to help digital DJs by connecting via MIDI to control all the buttons and dials within Native Instrument's Traktor DJ Studio 3, the DX2 is pretty much plug-and-play once you load the configuration file from the included CD.
I bought two of these so that I have full control over three decks. They daisy-chained to my Presonus Firebox via the MIDI port and so far, I've only had to replace the batteries once (which, to be fair, I only did because I was in a club and didn't want them to run out mid-way!)
My main concern is the filter dial on the channel 1/2 controller is starting to get a bit wobbly. I do use it the most, but these things need to be sturdy while a DJ is "in the zone".
Overall, I'm very happy with them, and coupled with my Firebox, have transformed my mixing to the point where I feel confident enough to perform live.
