    The Genus Type R radio is retro cool and was worth the money just to see the look on my partners face when he opened it for Christmas. The radio comes packaged in a very smart red and black box which matches well with the actual colours of the product. Just looking at the box itself you know you're going to be in for a treat.A mixture of solid walnut (I think), aluminium and leather with a well designed circular detailed grey cloth speaker cover ensures the radio is very solid and has a top qulaity feel to it. The radio's sound quality is good depsite some other reviews I have read about the product. For a table top DAB radio the sound is crisp and the volume can be turned up very loud without any major distortion.The touch sensitive screen LCD controls are a very nice design feature and they are easy to use. I like the way that the panel lights up as your hand approaches it. The handle can be positioned in one way of two ways so either discreetly hidden behind the main frame or swung over the top so you can effectively lie the radio down almost horozontally.

    This Genus Type R radio is surely set to become a deisgn classic.
