If you want comfort go for the comfort version, although it is a synthetic the gun comes with a gel pad and is very clever and is also a recoil pad of a sort, as the wood finish comes with a solid plastic recoil pad that doesn't do anything but dig in to your shoulder as it is a funny shape and the comfort doesn't cost much more. Im glad you like your benelli. Although if you dig a little deeper you will find that in South America where the guides shoot thousands of rounds a DAY through a shotgun you will find in every article that you read that in fact its the Beretta 390 and 391 series shotguns that hold up the best of all with the Benelli coming in second.... Also in trap and sporting clays you see almost only Berettas shot in competition because of the reliabilty to shoot a lot of rounds without jamming. The Benelli is very quick and easy to clean, but the Beretta is just about as simple with only 2 more exrta parts than the Benelli. Plus if your shooting a lot of clays or birds the Beretta's gas system and a little more weight will kick you less. sincerely Alan Pulliam Sporting clays All american 1994-1998.
