Good Points: The best thing about Liverpool is the fact it's a great city, but is unspoiled by outsiders. Such as going to London and not seeing anyone with a cockney accent. You really get a sense of inclusion from the people who are extremely friendly, 'rough diamonds'. Best shopping for all kinds from high quality designers in the metquarter and Liverpool One, to vintages stores like pop boutique. Amazing nightlife for everyone and excellent choice of restaurants. And the obvious, the cultural factors. Enjoyed the maritime and slavery museum, loads of art galleries to choose from. Excellent theaters, especially the less 'grand' ones, where you can see real plays in a closed audience. Excellent local comedies if you have strong links with the area.Hotels can suit all price ranges, lovely Radisson and Jurys Inn and cheaper hotels like premier or holiday inn.

Bad Points: I hope its growing popularity doesn't turn it into another 'faceless' city but I'm sure its impossible for Liverpool to lose its realist charm.

General comments: I would recommend anyone to just TRY visiting Liverpool, a lot of people have a (wrongly) poor impression of the city if they haven't been there for a long time but I must say its certainly worth just trying the once and I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do.

Went to Liverpool for the weekend as my girlfriend is starting university there.
Overall Liverpool City Centre was clean and tidy with everything close at hand.
Food areas were next to the shopping areas and we ate at La Tasca's in Queens' Square.
The only really bad part was all the hills and also that there was a lot of horse droppings but no horses to be seen.
I will be going back to stay but that's because of my girlfriend and not of the city.
