What a shower this lot are....unprofessional, never return phone calls or emails and when asked to speak to Manager, she's never available. I'm amazed this company is still trading...if you value your time and energy, not to mention your integrity...avoid this lot like the plague...go elsewhere. (read more)

The most unprofessional and rude staff. worst agency experince ive ever had, never knew agencies can be this rude..wow they need to work on their staff before they do anything else staff was so rude, and so loud, i will never ever go and even bother registering with them. Dont think they have any decent jobs anyway so a complete waste of time. (read more)

I have dealt with two different branches of Brook Street. Both times I have been accepted in an unwelcome manner. The 'boss' at one of the branches was very rude, abrupt and inconsiderate. As one can imagine, this is not what is expected when looking to find a job. I was treated with disinterest and disrespect and felt looked down upon. I haven't been the only one to complain about their unwelcome service, I have heard from many of my friends and family that they have experienced the same... (read more)

I received a call from 'Shall remain anonymous' at Brook Street, he had called me about a job I was interested in only to tell me that I was not suitable due to lack of experience, however there was a part time position at the same place 20 hours that was available. If I don't have enough experience, why are you offering me a job that is way below my pay grade and the same as the full time one? Complete waste of time and energy. Steer clear if you can't tolerate stupidity... (read more)

After applying for a role on online, i was quickly called by the agent at the Leeds office who took my further details and wanted to put me forward for the role, after hearing nothing for a few weeks - it seems they don;t bother to call you - they text you to ask you to ring, agency never there in afternoons / lunch periods (which is when most people call isn't it). Grammar in email shocking. I was finally sent a text to call them on a Monday, where i was told i was to have an interview in... (read more)

Brook Street are by far the worst recruitment agency to work for. And the lady's working there are Stuck up Snobs! I ask for warehouse or retail work they offer Cleaning positions. When i turn that down they send me a P45. Also every warehouse or cleaning job you do regardless of what it is you'll never get paid more than the minimum wage. Even if you work in a Freezer of an ice cream factory for 9/10 hrs!! (read more)

The staff were really friendly so this can not be faulted. However, without acting like a 'snob', the work I was offered as a graduate with a first class degree was just farcical. Cleaning offices, washing dishes in kitchens, and wrapping presents and the such in warehouses... I know that in this current time no one is entitled to walk into any wonderfully paid job but the jobs offered were well below what I wanted. Furthermore, after turning down certain jobs I would get offered the same... (read more)

My story with Brook Street is long. I registered with them a year ago, I specified what I want to do, but they did`t care. They offered me a job month later, just before a Xmass.... pushing trolleys in Tesco !!! Then just month ago, after a year of silence just before end of contract they rang me to say they have a job for me. I went for interview, I got it - it was okay, nothing special 7 pounds per hr. I had to wait for a crime check as it was HR department and after weeks of waiting they... (read more)

Brook Street, what can I say,of late, amateurish and incompetent service. We have had Brook Street temps under our employ and all but a few were well under standard, unvetted, underskilled and plain just unproffesional with punctuality and attendance. The branch involved has been caught out several times for overcharging, seem to lack control over their temps and have don't have much regard over AWR as they do not have a clue as to how to approach and prove what their employees are actually... After being made redundant earlier in the year, I frantically put all my time into finding a new job. I had no luck until the very last day at my previous company when I got a call from Brook Street. Brook Street even has a process that adjusts your tax so that your take home pay is more (I expect this is because... (read more)

Agree with the negative comments on this website. I am in the HR profession and now I know what their candidate experience is like, I will never consider Brook Street for our recruitment needs. I had the worst experience of recruitment agencies with Brook Street in Watford. I've registered with several agencies off and on over the years (usually) when I'm between jobs, and Brook Street is the only that comes through for me. I recently found myself out of a job and so I had to reregister with Brook Street as well as the other usual suspects. Not one of the others has bothered to get back to me(Reed is the worst), and when I do get them on the phone they are rude and dismissive. Wish I'd read reviews before visiting them. Didnt seem interested in finding work for me of any substance but rather a day here and there. Pro: If you register in their website, they will get back to you.. unlike some of the agencies.. they got back to me within 3 days asking about what jobs I'm looking for.. etc. so far so good? nah
Cons: I wouldn't recommend this recruitment agency. The consultant who spoke to me was rude and cold. She sounded fed up of speaking to jobseekers and wasn't really interested at all. Fail recruiters.

The manager of the Portsmouth office does not respond to emails, nor does their new 'temps' person. The manager has openly slagged off an ex-member of staff, saying that she was a 'little all over the place'. This ex-member of staff is still in contact with me and still looking for jobs for me, so she's way above anything that the manager can offer.
On numerous occasions, Brook Street have lost timesheets, entered incorrect hours or pay and rather than apologising for it, the manager just...

My experience with Brook Street has sadly been an entirely negative one. I signed up with the company a matter of months ago.
The process of signing up was very disorganised and it took a great deal of prompting to get anything done. This entailed a number of phone calls and visits to the branch.
Following this painstaking process actually being considered for work seemed to take an inordinate amount of time and required further promting.
The work placements i was offered were of a very...

I wouldn't recommend using Brook Street. Last time I registered they had horrible flickering strip lights in the room where you take your copy typing test, which gave me a headache. The staff were unfriendly, and make you wait for ages to talk to someone, while they all sit and chat to one other. They never told me I could register online so I had to spend even more time in the torture chamber. I felt like cattle, being herded through. They never called me with any work either. (read more)
