Good Points: Big. Huge load carrying capacity. The 3 litre diesel engine performs well, good acceleration and pretty good fuel economy.
Bad Points: Not a small car! Small dents and repairs cost - a wing mirror cost £250 to replace.
Car acceleration seems to blip at about 20mph where if you put your foot down it feels sluggish and then suddenly surges forward. OK once you know about it but the first couple of times are interesting.
General comments: All in all the Mercedes E280 Avantgarde is a very competent car and a particularly comfortable motorway cruiser. However its not a great car - then again maybe an estate car this size is never going to be.
