I had bought 600 series washer and dryer 3 years ago paid extra for warrenty, the washer starting to make a loud noise when it stop from spinning, then it starting to leak we called Sears the warrenty went out on the machine March 16, 2013, the machine was only 3 years old. Sears was going to charge me $75 just to come out to look at the machine, I called another company to check out the machine there was a tear in the tub of the machine, it was made out of plastic and the breaks on the... “Nothing But Problems”

Written on: 02/04/2013 by unhappypurchase1

I purchased the Kenmore 600 Washer and Dryer in April, 2008. It is the washer that is a piece of junk. The dryer works just fine. The first two years the washer worked and then it has been nothing but problems. Thankfully I purchased the Master Protection Plan which in the end paid for all the headaches. The most recent problem is that it won't go into the spin cycle. Have to constantly turn the dial and open and close the lid to get it to engage when it does. Everything now requires... (read more)

“Avoid this machine”

When this machine comes to the spin cycle it just hums but doesn't spin the water out of the clothes. It just sits there!!! Then the rinse cycle starts and it hasn't expelled the first wash water yet. You have to "open the lid and close it each time it goes to spin out to start the next cycle. If you miss it it just sits and hums . I had a repair man out "since it has done it since it was BRAND NEW....but it didn't do it while he was here so he fixed nothing....even though I told him what it... (read more)

It is a bit on the noisy side, but its a great washer and gets my clothes very clean. Its the first and only washer I've ever owned. I got it as a gift from my mom when I was 19 and I'm 31 now. I'll be selling it soon due to moving sadly, but its been a fantastic washer. The 600 dryer lasted me 10 years before it had to be replaced 2 years ago. (read more)

“Bad Quality Kenmore 600 series”

Written on: 15/09/2011 by karlkeng

I bought this Kenmore 600 series 4 years ago and had given me series of problems so far: First off, the cycle knob broke. Luckily, the sales guy insisted that I have to buy warranty. Secondly, the timer broke after the warranty. Thirdly, I am currently having power intermittent problem on all cycles. The water level knob is stiff. The washer is noisy compared to my old washer. Looks like this machine gives me trouble annually. Can't use it right now due to current intermittent power problem. (read more)

I have purchased the 600 series and have used it for exactly 12 months. The washer is loud, the spin leaves your clothes wet, The hot water never worked from day one. I have always had to wash in cold, thought it was my issue until I checked out other reviews. Today the water dumped into the washer without stopping flooding my house. When I bought this machine it was supposed to be quiet. This machine is so noisy, it actually knocks when it is washing. This machine shakes so bad and seems to be out of balance. I have had 3 repair men in and they find nothing wrong other than it is a floor problem. I have lived in this house over 40 years and this is the 1st machine to ever do this. The water doesn't get hot. When you put on hot you have lukewarm water. It just cost me $140.00 for a repair man to tell me there is... (read more)

First Complaint: Clothes washed on Normal, Gentle, & Delicate cycles were very wet after the completion of the spin cycle(s); water would run, as it would during the fill portion of the wash/rinse cycles, during the beginning of those three spin cycles. {which made no sense to me!?!} This greatly extended my drying times! My first two washers lasted me 20 years each (Kenmore and KitchenAid. I now have a Kenmore 600, after having Sears take back the awful 800 that I purchased the month before. Extremely LOUD! Each time I use it I think to myself, "is this normal" ? I hope I get a few years from it. My previous washer was a Maytag and it lasted 10 years. It made very minimal sound and washed well. Sadly, they don't make great washers anymore. Maybe this is why they encourage you to get the warranty for an extra $200+ , which is a rip off in my opinion. They should really include a (noise level) chart next to the price! (read more)

We have had this kenmore 600 series machine for about two years. It washes well, but recently we have noticed a bit of oil coming from the washing machine. Upon researching this further, it appears to be a problem with the transmission, meaning a costly repair, which is not covered by warranty since we didn't buy any thing more than the standard one year, or simply getting a new washer.
