“Can Only Dine If You Book!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 300Ross on 30/12/2021

Went into Loch Fyne in Woburn for some lunch (1.30pm). It was two thirds empty but we were told that we could only dine if we had booked. How absolutely ridiculous. And daily we read tales of woe from the hospitality industry who say that they are losing money. Hardly a surprise with this sort of attitude. We went across the road to the Black Horse, restaurant was very busy but they found us a table. Guess which restaurant will still be in business in six months time. Glad I’m not a shareholder!!

A first time visit to this restaurant (part of a chain) was a very pleasant experience. A well structured menu with choices that make you want to go back. The specials were interesting. Wine prices very reasonable at around £17 for a well balanced Pinot.
Everything was absolutely top notch on our visit- which as only marred by finding we have been boxed in by an inconsiderate motorist in the Town Car Park who had created a third parking lane necessitating a taxi ride home. So if you visit, park strategicaly!

We have to cater for 2 fish eating vegetarians. We have been to this restaurant on 2 occasions (so far). Both were enjoyable experiences.
Will definitely be going again. A good and varied selection on the menu. My daughter was particularly taken with the surf and turf. The steak was a little on the rarer side of medium but the attentive and helpful staff remedied this without question and obligingly. Staff also very friendly. I found the cider to be quite good.
We are going to make this one of our regular eating venues.
We did book on the second visit as we found it to be quite a busy place.

We stumbled on Loch Fyne, Woburn by chance, having noticed it whilst waiting at the junction opposite, but are very pleased we did. I would definitely recommend it and look forward to eating there again. The food was cooked to perfection and the flavours were well balanced. Even the small details were well taken care of, such as my plate being nicely chilled for my delicious mackerel salad. The staff were attentive and more than willing to cater for our every whim. We would definitely recommend it and look forward to eating there again.
