“Dont touch this company!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by amandadavies01 on 11/06/2016

Very difficult to cancel account, and now after years of me thinking my account had been closed i find out that they were still taking money from my account... 14.99 every month... only found out when i went over drawn, and the bank charged me £50 fees... tried talking to credit expert.. what a joke on phone for over 15 mins trying to talk to someone in charge! all i get is i'm sorry there is nothing we can do... They have taken 4 years of unauthorised payments from my account after i had canceled it... Yes i should have notice it before but with three children there are always payments on my debit card going out for small amounts that i just dont notice... every time i changed my debit card they would update creditexpert with new card details... have now contacted financial ombudsmen... and have contacted soliciter for legal advice.

“DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 206Curran on 09/05/2016

Within the first 30 days of my free trial I was happy with this service from Experian. However, after my first direct debit of 14.99 was taken from my account I could no longer logon to my Experian account. Busy with work I never took the time to contact customer service as this was not a priority. After my second direct debit was took, I then phoned customer service and explained I had been charged for 2 month for a service they had not provided. Their response was that because I had no proof and took so long to report the problem there was nothing they were willing to do for me. After coming off the phone to go on to my page and screenshot the problem that was presenting to forward in an email to customer service the problem had magically resolved. So I now have no proof in order to receive a refund. My membership is now cancelled and I would never recommend using this site. I would have gave no stars but it makes you give a minimum of 1!

“Fantastic customer service”

★★★★★

written by fiSchroeder143 on 25/08/2015

I had an error on my file. Phoned Experian and was very impressed by the customer service. They not only put a note on my file to explain, they wrote to the company to get it sorted and noticed another discrepancy with regards to address that could affect my credit rating, while I was on the phone, and sorted that also. Very quick phonecall and very satisfied with the service.

“Instruction to cancel not completed and refused a refund”

★☆☆☆☆

written by smPuckett372 on 16/04/2015

I called back in December as my account had been duplicated and instructed them both via email and by phone to cancel BOTH accounts (as you cannot just do this on the internet itself) after taking 2 payments from me of £14.99 they then cancel 1 account and tell me both are closed. since then 3 more payments of £14.99 have gone out of my account 2 on the same day. When i called to discuss this i was told that i have not ever called i did not ask for them both to be cancelled and so will not be getting a refund. they then carry on to tell me that i have also been using the account because their computer says i have. when i then explained that this has not happend then then tell well yes it has you have been using it (thanks calling me a liar now) after 30 mins on the phione to an arrogant man who wasnt bothered about what i had to say and only about what a screen says they have refused me a refund. the way i was delt with and the way that they have handled the situation is disgusting i have now made a formal complait to them so we will see what happens.

Good luck getting a response toyour complaint! I have never ever dealt with a company don't who seem to care one iota about the service they are supposed to be delivering!! No on ever seems to follow through...no one ever gets back to you...including as a last resort- the complaints team!! I have paid this faithfully for 2 years, and the very issue I am having issues with, they just continue to push f on pillar to post. I am at my last straw, and now about to write to the Financial Ombudsmen to try and get my money back and voice my complaint with!
Never sign up to services from this lot!

“Trying to catch people out, terrible customer service.”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 30/03/2015

Somehow both myself and my fiance misinterpreted what was said and thought the trial did not automatically rollover so neither of us cancelled and it wasn't until we noticed that we'd been charged that we realised we had to call them up to cancel it. They wouldn't give us a refund and the guy on the phone just kept repeating a line about us being informed when we signed up but it doesn't actually say in any of the emails that we will start getting charged, it just says that it costs £15 after the trial, nothing about us getting automatically charged. There's no email or anything to inform you that you're about to move onto a paid plan, they're basically trying to catch people out. I want to buy a house in a couple of years and I was planning on paying for a month here and there to keep an eye on my credit but now I'll refuse to even use their trial again and I'll make sure that I stop as many other people as possible. It's simply a company run by scumbags.

“As otherwise noted avoid this company. The free trial...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Bishopkg278 on 16/11/2014

As otherwise noted avoid this company. The free trial is a nightmare to cancel and then once you they start to send you emails telling you that your details have been sold to criminals... and suprise suprise you need to login, and pay to find out more. Dirty tactics from a nasty company that exploits people circumstances to extort money from them.

written by SOPHIEFENTONXX on 27/10/2014

I cancelled in August they didn't charge me in August then charged me again in September for 29.99 then again in October for 14.99. I rang them they were extremely rude said I wasn't entitled to a refund! I then rang my bank and they have refunded it all for me. Natwest have put a block on my account so they can't take it again.PLEASE AVOID MONEY GRABBERS!!

“Process Driven Theft”

★☆☆☆☆

written by AudrinaKeller on 29/07/2014

Joined to check my credit rating on a free trail. Forgot to cancel so was billed £14.95. Went online to cancel, only to find that there is NO WAY TO CANCEL on their website. It was too late to ring them, so I forgot all about it. A sharp reminder when I was charged another £14.95. Remembered to ring them, they have a highly scripted hard sell to try and stop you cancelling, but eventually they agreed to cancel. Then they charged me again! The business is designed to prevent you cancelling at all costs, its process driven theft, avoid, avoid, avoid!

“Credit Expert leaves big holes in credit monitoring”

★☆☆☆☆

written by AdelynMatthews on 08/05/2014

Having been with Credit Expert alert service for several years because having understood that I could relax because "Experian CreditExpert continuously monitors your credit report for changes and potential fraudulent activity.", I was shocked to find this monitoring of my credit report was actually restricted only to Experian credit reporting and that a fraudster simply had to identify shops offering credit that was not vetted by Experian to be potentially able to instantly open credit accounts without any credit alerts being sent out. This leaves a hole as big as a barn door in the Experian Credit Expert Service. Relax? Sure, if you don't mind them opening credit in your name you may not know anything about until you are contacted for repayment of tens of thousands pounds of fraudulent run up debt. Shame on you Experian.

“Credit Expert for £6.99 per month”

★★★★☆

written by on 15/01/2014

You can pay just £6.99 per month with Vanquis credit card for the Credit Expert identity protect product, which includes credit report service, rather than paying £14.99 per month with credit expert.

Why pay even £6.99? Simpletons like you, make this company millions! Firstly,I use to work for the company, you could have a credit score of 1000 and still be declined credit, for example, you could have the maximum score and have never had credit! Creditors such as barclays, halifax etc,do not see any score! Creditors, search your file for late payments etc! You could have 600 credit searches one company may decline, the may not! Let me tell you about the identity product,it's worth nothing,I dealt with several people and basically, your own bank/finance company writes of the fraudulent transactions, all the credit reference people do is place notes on your report,so it warns creditors to be extra careful! Another example, you have a credit card and clear it of every month and you pay no interest, you can be declined for further credit as you ain't making them any money.I worked for Experian for five years and they had never paid any money out as a result of identity fraud! The best thing you and others who are sucked it by this,is to pay the £2 statutory fee every three month

“Awful - DO NOT use ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 13/11/2013

Several years ago, following a breach of security at a bank, the bank gave me a years paid up membership of this, so that I could monitor things. After the year was up, I let the membership lapse. Recently, I noticed on Quidco that they were offering a month trial, free of charge, and that my card would only be charged if I failed to cancel after teh trial. I then notice that I have been charged for free month. On checking with them, they say that as I was a member previously, I do not qualify for the free trial. It does not say anywhere that I do not qualify for free trial. TOTAL RIP OFF!! Why is the financial ombudsman or other organisation not lookiing into the behaviour of this company?

“CreditExpert is part of/Experian and the financial mafia”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 28/09/2013

The same things happened to me. They offer useless services, take your money and lie and all of this is institutionalized. The worst thing is that they are part of the financial mafia (big financial institutions) that has only one goal, to enslave us (the little average guys)and then to suck as much money out of us as possible. Credit rating agencies are part of this scheme. The UK has now merged into a second USA (we don't have this system in the country where I come from). Credit reporting agencies are the foundation of this horrible financial enslavement. Without them financial institutions could never exercise so much power and control over us. First they seduce you to live on credit, then you get reported and then you are forced to pay exorbitant interest which makes it impossible to ever get out of this deadly vicious circle again. Over half the population in the UK are already enslaved and two thirds in the US... the rest of the world now follows suit. I did some research and found that this system was carefully planned several decades ago and then gradually introduced and what comes next is complete enslavement over the entire world population. Sorry, I know this sounds crazy but it is already happening and the implementation is very progressed. Try to get out of credit ASAP and never use credit EVER again. Keep as many reserves as possible (not just cash) and stop trusting big companies, banks and your government. God bless you.

“Worst company ever”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 13/08/2013

I didn't even sign myself up to credit expert around 5 months ago my partner did and yet they will not allow me to cancel! I rang up about two months ago to and they said that's fine it's sorted then two more payments have been took out and they have no knowledge of me phoning to cancel which is ridiculous the only way to cancel is to phone I phone they say no record of it absolute joke! It angers me more as I did not sign up to service myself the service is useless and I pay £15 per month for it and get bank charged for exceeding my overdraft to pay it every time whilst I'm heavily pregnant and need money for other things! I am definitely going to the financial ombudsman as I want a refund for at least the months I cancelled the service from! They literally rob you blind! NEVER USE CREDIT EXPERT!

“Be careful they will change your monthly fee without...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by exposeintasure on 03/07/2013

I set up a monthly monitoring of my credit file and it was £5.99 this was ok, gave me updates and notified me if my report had been accessed. They increased this to £9.99 without notice, when i called to ask why this was now coming out of my bank, they said they had emailed me and because i hadnt responded they increased my charges as non responce from me was acceptace by me of the increase of almost 70% as far as they were concerned, needless to say i cancelled and they now get nothing. Beware they prey on fear and use stealth tactics to increase revenue, they are not nice to deal with, un-helpful staff and 0844 telephone number what does that say

“totally rubbish, money grabbing, bad customer service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 29/06/2013

i have taken the subscription and they started taking the payments in the current month for the following month, and when I try to cancel in the current month and they said the following months payments already taken and you will be a member for the following month as well, which doesn't make any sense. When I asked for refund, they said they would never refund that amount and you will be a member for the following month as well even if you dont wanted!!!! The person I spoke to was very rude.
