Good Points: Good river / location.
Clean.

Bad Points: Restaurant food and service.
Lack of customer service.
Few sun loungers round pool.

General comments: The Camping Mas de Champel campsite in Rhone Alpes has a beautiful setting. It is located right on a clean river, and has a good sized sandy beach. The Pool is an adequate size, and it was cleaned every day. It could do with a lot more sun loungers. There were around 15 loungers and about 30 - 40 people were on average using the pool area to sunbathe at one time. The toilet facilities were clean, and there were plenty of them. Good washing machines and tumble dryer etc. Most sites were shady, and there were no problems with ants and mosquitoes. No shop on-site, but baguettes and croissants delivered daily by order. The website says that it is a quiet site, but most nights there was entertainment - live bands and karaoke etc. until midnight. The restaurant was not good - basic pizzas, burgers and chips etc. We ate there once. Had a semi raw burger which we couldn't eat. The campsite owners and staff have limited English as it is a very French camp site. This was a positive for us, as we were wanting to practise our French.

Overall, I think that this is a camp site with a great setting, and it is clean and presentable. As long as you don't eat in the restaurant and don't mind the noise until midnight, you will have a great holiday. We had a good time.
