“Four problems in 18 months”

Battery failed after 18 months very light usage (used less than twice a week and carried clubs all winter). Battery charger failed and replaced within warranty. Some sort of clutch problem on one wheel, repaired under warranty but came back with noisy motor, which was sorted. Refused to supply spares for DIY repair so had to pay carriage charges during warranty period. On the good side GoKart arranged courier and sent a replacement trolley to use while carrying out repairs The choice... (read more)

I'm 64 and took up golf again about 3 years ago. For the first time ever.i joined a golf club and got to play off 13 . I noticed most of the guys had electric trolleys, mainly powerkaddy and motocaddy but they were really expensive. Then by chance saw go kart and bought one after the excellent reviews and great price. What a great product from a great co. quick to put together, small when packed away. “Best Customer service ever.”

I have had my GoKart for over Five years, and although it is made of a plastic material it is not as flimsy as some of the all metal trollies some the other guys at the club have. The customer service is first rate and if I have needed any parts they arrive the next working day nornally. Most of the problems have been due to my clumsiness or mishandling. My wife has also a GoKart and more people at the club have bought them and are pleased with their purchases. I do not understand people... (read more)

Bought this a year ago and very disappointed, Battery supposed to last 36 holes, only does 27. Because of the design there is considerable marking on the frame and every opening and closing contributes even more marks. Top strap broke and golf card holder also broke. (read more)

I thought I must drop a line about the wonderful guys at Go Kart. I have had my trolley for years now, the first at our club to get one. I got the Gokart trolley on the recommendation of a good friend who had one. I was so impressed I bought the wife one. Beats the Powakaddy I used to have hands down. First of all it holds both of the differnet bags I have without a problem. It is fully adjustable as you would expect. When not in use it folds down so small that I am no longer embarrassed when I am offered a lift to the golf by a mate in his car, I don't fill the boot with just my trolley! The trolly developed a slight problem over the last few holes.I returned it to their Canterbury factory where the fault was quickly identified as a battery or connection problem.Without any quibble they replaced the battery and housing under warranty.Fantastic service and a great product. Im delighted with my trolley- had it over 2 years. Had recent problem,just phoned them, the company was exemplary in organising the repair from texts and emails for courier collection and times and free trolley lend whilst mine being repaired.The trolley was returned with new strap and card holder replaced free of charge.I hadnt even asked for this. I have had my GoKart for nearly 4 years now and can't speak well enough of it. The after sales service is without equal.....when I first had the trolley the battery failed and this was replaced by courier within 2 days!The company said they got the occasional duff one and the current one A couple of odd minor parts were replaced after a phone call by return of post. “Cheap and nasty”

I got my GOKART about 2 and a half years ago and have a had a few problems. The first was the battery which was a 36 hole one which lasted about 11 months. This was replaced with another which also lasted around 10 months. The second battery was not covered by any warranty though, apparently only the first was. The connectors from the battery charger broke and the connectors on the trolley broke as well. I was told I would have to buy a replacement battery even though the trolley was still... (read more)

We're really sorry to read about your disappointment with the trolley. The GoKart is our main product. We designed it and make it ourselves in our Kent factory. We're quite proud of this, and seriously take it to heart if we hear of a customer that we've let down.

“weak battery”

Bought a GoKart in Dec 2010 with a 36 hole battery (Lead battery). It lasted exactly one season. Right now, March 2012, I can make 13 holes before the battery dies. Had to order a new Lithium battery (€ 299.-, special offer but still expensive) in order to get back on the course. Didn't like it at all. Very disappointing occurance. Don't recommend to buy a gokart with a lead battery. (read more)

I bought a Go Kart trolley last April and after about six months, due to driver error, it suffered what can only be described as a pretty horrific accident - the like of which I doubt any trolley could possibly have survived. After informing Go Kart of the incident, and fully expecting to pay for the repairs (the handle had snapped off) they collected it the next day and returned it as promised seven days later, fully repaired and free of charge. Heard and read lots of good things about the GoKart, - British made, Good Sevice, Lightweight, Good value for money are the most common ones, generally by new owners shortly after their initial purchase, But a word of caution, My friend bought one and listed all the above positives, but after 6 months usage 2 of the Light Plastic parts had broken, he showed them to me, but I can't remember what parts they were. I am very pleased with the first uses of my new Go Kart Electric Golf Trolley. I bought my GoKart golf trolley after much research on prices, options, reviews etc. etc. The end result is great decision, great product and the after sales service is superb - they really do care about their customers and maintaining a good reputation. I had to take my trolley back as I had damaged the battery connector on the trolley (not being careful enough when clipping battery in place). Having just joined a very hilly course, my wife agreed to get me an electric trolley as early birthday present. Never had one before, and so searching the internet for reviews, the Go Kart stood out at a reasonable price and exceptional customer service. This is a great value for money kart. The motor is really strong, in fact if you turn it on full speed it's a bit of a sprint to catch up with it! The motor is a little noisier than most other electric trolleys but only a little. I would also say that it takes up more room than i thought it would in the boot of the car, I guess I underestimated the size of it from the video on the website. I ordered this Monday morning and it was with me at the specified time on Tuesday. It is easy to assemble, is light and nimble and doesn't tip backwards unlike my PowaKaddy Freeway II (now sold). Cost of trolley, brolly holder and bag was £277 delivered - a snip.
Looks are subjective; of my two playing partners one said it was ugly and the other liked the lines. Granted, it's not as sexy looking as the Freeway but who cares so long as it does the job, which it does beautifully? Speed wheel is...

This is a great piece of gear. It's my first leccy trolley and have had it now for 3 mths and no prob so far. Great power and plenty in 18 hole battery for 2 rounds. The review below that knocked the customer service ( for being closed over Christmas !!!! ) was way off the mark. The customer service is what makes this stand out. I have only had mine for a week but is has been out five times so far and is fantastic. Great looks and loads more power than the hillbilly I used to have. Easy to use and a doddle to fold away. Well I spent 3-4 months researching golf trolleys before I decided on the replacement for my Powakaddy Freeway. Having used this site as one source I can only echo the positive experience of other users. I have had my GoKart golf trolley over two years and had a problem with a drive shaft, rang GoKart explained the problem and the next day two updated drive shafts arrived by first class post with fitting instruction. Simple operation to fit these took about 15 minuets. The best part is no charge was made and the trolley was out of warranty.
Last week I dropped the trolley taking it out of the car and broke the frame which supports the front wheel, this break was near ware the the battery...

After owning mine for about 8 months i had a problem with the drive(THIS PROVED TO HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY WATER) .

OK, it's a good electric cart, and their aftersales service is excellent, but... the reasons I had to call them need to be shared with you.
Firstly their website order form is a little confusing about colours of batteries (they admitted I wasn't the first person to get confused). All the batteries themselves are black, but if you want a coloured plastic battery HOLDER, you need to specify an orange, green, whatever battery. I got it wrong and they sent what I though I'd ordered within 24...

Been looking for an electric trolley for my wife for a while now. After reading reviews on this website, as well as looking at the GoKart website, I ordered one with the carry bag and umbrella holder. Having been in use for a few weeks now I can totally agree with the other reviews on this site. It is sylish, folds up easily and fits snuggly into the carry bag. purchased my Go Kart in Aug 2010 used it 2/ 3times a week since purchase i can only say that it is a sold piece of kit, rides smoothly over the ground, easy to operate, power output from battery excellent, small to store in the car boot, light to carry around,an all round great trolley only one small reservation i sometimes find fitting the battery a bit of a fiddle i can never hit on the connectors and line up the plastic guides first time - maybe its my age!!

I never took an interest in owning an electric golf trolley, up until I joined my current course which is very hilly. I started to do some research and discovered that, on paper, the GoKart couldn't be beaten for value. I ordered the 36 Hole all black edition with a few accessories, and it was promised the next day. I have enjoyed using my GoKart trolley as much as I have enjoyed dealing with their customer service. They seem really focussed on making sure that you have the best experience possible. I have the 36 hole GoKart and the battery is so reliable.

My Gokart is just great but when I had it for 6 months I rather stupidly left in on a steep slope and a gust of wind blew it over sideways cracking one of the main struts. Called Go Kart who collected it the next day, repaired it and delivered it back 2 days later all FREE OF CHARGE. Fantastic service and very friendly. Bought this trolley for my son after looking at some expensive alternatives and decided to take the gamble-glad I did, it has proved to be a great buy and hasn't let us down. Would recommend it for any one on a limited budget. Speed control can sometimes be rolled faster or slower by mistake especially when wearing winter mits! we're normally very happy to send out parts if it's a feasible home fix. When you say 'refused' that doesn't sound our style...was it just that we knew it would need to be an in-factory repair?
