I would not have another Cannon C60 GTX thrown at me. The appearance is the only good thing about it. We have had the cooker for just over a year and the FSD device has failed, the spark generator has gone kaput, the lettering on the control panel has washed away, the control knobs have all melted and the cooker skin gets so hot its dangerous. Buy one of these at your peril. It would not let me give zero stars so had to give it one (read more)

after only a few days use the stainless steel tray around the burners started to turn brown due to the heat from the large burners, the "engineer" was called and blamed burnt food which was rubbish, after a few weeks with the discolouration getting bigger "engineer" no 2 arrived, admitted that the stainless steel quality was not very good and sold us a bottle of cream cleaner with which to buff out the discolouration, which then returns when the large burners are used, the response from... We are on our second cooker in six weeks, on the original cooker the oven cooling fan didn't work for the first two weeks and then needed replacement. We were not impressed by the Cannon (Hotpoint) service engineer who had little knowledge of this particular product. We also had to contact Cannon a second time to get some action taken after the service engineer's visit. We do not find this appliance user friendly. There are cheaper, better designed and much better quality stainless cookers... (read more)

I agree with this review because... I am having the same problems with the ovens taking a long time to cook food - in some cases double the guide line times. Have also had engineeer out but he assured me the ovens do reach correct temp and suggested I was not leaving them on long enough before adding food (untrue) but still food not cooking!! Engineer said ovens are not insulated now, like my old New World Plan 6 which I had for 18 years without a problem unfortunately no longer available. Also the Chesterfield control knobs for the hob are obscured as you rightly state. Found that the four pan stands on the hob are flimsy and move when saucepans are added or taken off if not very careful.

Further to my previous comment. Both of our new Cannon C60GTX cookers suffered from the same fault. Cooling fans which were noisy, one of which did not work at delivery. Ovens that did not reach operating temperature because of a known existing assembly fault on the oven vent flap. Both our cookers took over half an hour to warm up, they never reached the set cooking temperature and what they did cook was burned at the back and undercooked at the front. Do not accept this cooker if it does not work properly from day one. We now have an Electrolux EKG6047XN which is a good replacement and works properly.

I found this review very helpful because...

<br/>I was considering buying it until I read this Cannon seem to be pretty poor as I keep reading reviews and they are very poor quality, the black cookers start to scratch up really easily so it seems they are not really interested in how the cooker looks so long as it works, not very nice really is it?
