When I first opened the box and cocked the gun it had a very thick oil on it so i wiped it off and replaced it and I also noticed that the safty wasn't centered properly but it still works great.

The gun is very nicely weighted and is nice to hold with it's non slip grip. The gun is hard to cock at first but it gets easier the more you shoot.

It has great power for squirrels and other small animals. It is also very accurate if you take time to practice with it. I can hit quarters at 10 meters ...

crosman phanton 500 model - Best non-PAL gun I was able to find in Canada for the money. I took the first one back because the sight was crooked (approx. 10 degrees left of centre). The new one I grabbed is fairly accurate and packs about as much punch as you're going to get without a license.

The break-barrel can be a bit hard to crack, requiring a slap, but once loaded with a .22 hollow-point pellet I'm a menace to squirrels.

The Crosman Phantom 500 is a great Gun , i find the power is excellent for the 110 bucks i paid at crappy tire, the sights suck, i opted for a scope in which i cant say much bad about, from 100 ft im hitting the targets dead on

I found after a box of pellets, do a dismantle and silicone lube, molly and thread lock the gun and it improves the performance. I also added a few washers and it increased the velocity slightly and reduced the kick.

Overall this is a great gun. The thing that really catches my eye with this one is the visual appearance. It is all black although some pictures on google images ect. show the barrel glistening and appearing silver it is black. The overall weight is 5.5 pounds so it is pretty heavy. Great gun though id recommend it. At 495fps and a .22 caliber its the strongest gun your legally aloud to have in canada with out a PAL/gun license.

I found that this Crosman Phantom 500 rifle was surprisingly powerful for its small price
It can shoot right through thin sheet metal, it is built very sturdy, I also enjoy the comfortable rubber buttstock, and lastly I found that this rifle was very accurate for its price, I paid 120 some odd dollars including pellets a canadian walmart in ontario, and im using hollow points. I would recomend this to anyone wanting to shoot targets,
Aquirrels, big and small birds, i also recomend putting a scop ...

Wonderful rifle. nothing much really to add. Accuracy is decent for a break-barrel Especially if using a scope. C'mon, the rifle is being broken into two pieces every time it is loaded! How much accuracy do we expect?

This is in my top five air guns and i have a lot of airguns. It can be modified to shoot like a rifle 4 times the price and its got a good well balanced feel to it.
Some of the screws may come lose with time i recomend that you take locktite to the gun screws when you get one

For the price its great, the really like the Crosman Phantom 500 Model. Pellet going at 495fps is really great. Construction of the gun is very good but its not cheap. The weight of gun is the same weight as a regular rifle.

Replaced synthetic washers with 5/16 steel washers also removed hinge bolt and guide and crazy glued the bolt inside the sleeve before I reassembled every thing I also crazy glued the hinge bolt threads and the threads in the receiver so bolt wouln't keep loosening off. this baby is now a tack driver accuracy is incredible when the barrel can't shift up or down. lots of trial and error to figure out the problem.
